Smoke Ninjutsu
General Summary
Smoke Ninjutsu despite how it has changed under the new rules is still considered a non-elemental ninjutsu, but some of its updates have made it fairly similar to elemental releases. It is important to remember the differences. Yes to utilize smoke ninjutsu, you can either manipulate an existing smoke source that was created, or you can now manipulate smoke from your own body. Previously, smoke bombs, and wrist launchers were necessary. These items, seemingly outdated, can still be useful along with the new abilites; however, they are no longer a necessity. Smoke Ninjutsu is not an extremely lethal jutsu on its own, but with creativity, and strategy, smoke ninjutsu can become a very powerful weapon to augment your strengths and cover weaknesses. It's low canon list makes it great for custom ideas.
Greatest Strengths/Weakenesses
In elemental interactions, Smoke is only strong to fire since the smoke can smother it out. Smoke is weak to wind and earth. Wind blows it away, and the earthen structures push smoke aside to effectively then them out. However, there are more strengths and weakenesses outside of their elemental interactions. One strength is its intagibility. This intangibility works well against physical attacks from taijutsu users, or physical attacks in general. Some of the jutsu you will learn explcitly state this fact; however remember this is not a physical defense. Just because the smoke is effective against taijutsu does not mean YOU are. (Example you make a thin smoke wall for whatever reason. Person A punches through it with a basic taijutsu. The smoke wall is most likely unaffected due to its intangibility, but the smoke wall still fails to protect you from the punch.). Another strength is your gas immunity. This is only effective against gases you have to breath in, and this is a good rule change as you could be effected by your own jutsus in the past. Gases that physical effect you such as a corrosive gas that burns your skin, would still have effects despite your "gas" immunity. Gases like my Ozone element would not effect you since it must be breathed in to damage the enemy. This is a great strength.
Some of its weaknesses would comprise of its low lethal capabilities. One of the strongest cannon smoke techniques requires 3 turns for the enemy to faint while a C rank elemental jutsu could potentially kill someone in that turn. Since the offensive powers of this jutsu rely mainly on suffocation, it is very difficult to kill someone solely with smoke jutsu. Use it wisely and carefully.
Conclusion-It can be very versatile, but in my opinion smoke ninjutsu should be combined with other techniques to strengthen existing strategies, or support other abilities you might have. I think that is smokes greatest strength. Also....it is a good excuse to get high...I mean to..um...shhhh...

Ragna blows out a cloud of smoke after taking a huge puff from his cigarette, and allows the smoke to thin before introduing himself. "I'm Ragna the smoke master...hella of a choice you made here mate."
With a sinister smile Ranga blew out another puff of smoke and disappeared into the shadows only to appear a few meters behind Elie. The smoke was thinning, but it was definitely still floating around the cave. "People don't visit me too often...but I assume you're not here to chat. You're familiar with clones yes? Create a clone of yourself using the smoke I have so kindly provided for you. You'll need it."
As it turned out the Ragna that was speaking to Elie was a clone, it quickly dissapated into smoke and joined the swirling smoke that was present earlier, leaving Ragna shrouded in mystery.
(Kemuri Bunshin no Jutsu) - Smoke Clone technique

Description: The user creates a clone made out of smoke from their hands. When it is struck, it turns into a smoke similar to the smokescreen the user creates. The smoke clone is mostly used as a diversion tactic like other clone techniques, however, the user can also turn the clone into a source for smoke ninjutsu at any time.
Note: The clone can only use smoke related jutsu.
Note: Only useably by bios that've learned Smoke Ninjutsu.

Elie exclaimed as she saw him disappear into thin smoke then reappear behind her then dispersing into a puff of smoke. After hearing his instructions she puts on her serious face and starts using her chakra to manipulate the smoke released after the clone dispersed. she used her chakra to manipulate the smoke and gather it into a small area similar in size to her own body. Then by using shape manipulation she changed the shape of the smoke to make it look exactly like her and by using chakra manipulation again she made it dense and able to move like her and talk even like her.

Good, Ragna said from an unknown place as his voice echoed throughout the cave. The clone Elie made dispersed just as soon as it was created as a kunai flew through it at great speeds. As a cloud of smoke formed from the dispersed clone, Ragna spoke again.
"Do not fret, if you perform this jutsu right, your training will speed up significantly. Use the smoke from your dispersed clone to form up to 5 more clones similar to the one you just made. Now that you are familiar with smoke ninjutsu, and smoke clones, this should be feasible. Once you make the clones we will begin some actual techniques, other than mere replicas of yourself."

I use my smoke chakra to control smoke released from the defeated clone and preventing it from getting dispersed into the air and equally distribute it to five smoke thingies then by using shape manipulation I shape all the five as me creating five clones of me out of a dispersed clone.
