Appearance ___Katakuri is a fair-skinned, brawny man of very tall stature (≈ 2m). He has short, spiky black hair and two symmetric scars on both sides of his face. Due to his serious personality and profound focus, his eyes persistently exhibit the Hayabusa phenomenon of Falcon's Eyes. These amber-colored eyes are accentuated by arched eyebrows and prominent lower eyelashes. Perhaps his most recognizable trait, however, is the large ragged scarf that covers his mouth, in addition to concealing most of his scarring. Other articles of clothing include a torn leather jacket that exposes most of his torso, gloves and pants, a belt with a skull-shaped buckle, and spiked boots with spurs. The left portion of his torso is covered in a series of tattoos that are vertical lines, and he wears a spiked bracelet on his left forearm, as well as a kneepad with a single spike on the left leg. Throughout all his travels, he usually makes sure to bring, at the very least, a standard tool pouch in tow. His main weapon of choice is a polearm that is as long as Katakuri is tall, and it is adorned with stones depicting the most notable Hayabusa clan patrons—Ryujin and Watatsumi Sanjin. He also makes use of a tantō concealed in his left jacket pocket. Lastly, no matter wherever he may be at any given time, Katakuri always carries a big bag full of jelly beans on his person, to be either be consumed or flicked at those whom irritate him for whatever reason. |

| Personality ___Katakuri almost always displays a very serious, no-nonsense demeanor, caring greatly about his clan and family's objectives. Prioritizing them above all else, he displays a blatant apathy towards most outsiders. Thus, he is fine with collateral damage during clan missions, although he would rather not indulge in truly wanton destruction and violence. This does not extend to situations that involve either the Vigoor clan or the Black Spider clan and instead, targets any individual tied to them with extreme prejudice due to far too many prior clan-wide conflicts. But for the most part, he is not unkind. His aloof nature just leaves him very much an introvert. Never one to lead, he spent his adolescent time in the service of Jo. Years spent away from the village did little to change his personality and he now follows Jo's grandson, who incidentally also happens to be his little nephew. ___He is accepting of Reborn as the clan leader, and obeys all of his orders without question. Still, he is not above publicly mocking the younger man for his midget-like stature and the emotional baggage that often results from it. His nephew's "Napoleon complex" is decidedly an endless source of great amusement and ergo, he tolerates the man's overt crassness, labeling him a tsundere for inquisitive minds. Because it is in Reborn's nature, he is hardly ever irked by his antics. And frequently, he goads him into childish displays. Katakuri is conflicted about whether his own most palpable character trait is one of masochism or sadism.. ___Katakuri is fully able to recognize his shortcomings and his first instinct is to act pragmatically should he find himself at an obvious disadvantage. He relishes close-quarter-combat, but also recognizes that there are many who outclass his skills. Keenly aware of how large the world is, and even more cognizant of the "monsters" that inhabit it, he lacks negative traits like envy and pride. In keeping with his follower-type attitude, he consistently goes out of his way to avoid the limelight. Perhaps his saddest quality is that he doesn't mind in the slightest being forgotten by most, and usually finds it very discomforting to be called by his given name when addressed by people outside of the Hayabusa clan—instead preferring to be called "Dogtooth." |

| History ___Katakuri is the older brother of Momiji and Yu Han Sung, which incidentally makes him the eldest maternal uncle to Reborn. His early childhood is, frankly, unworthy of comment, and a great deal of his adolescence was spent serving all of the head family. And it was during the same conflict that resulted in the deaths of Jo and Reborn’s uncles that he received his two symmetric scars. Afterwards, he felt his own inability contributed to the newly deceased, and so he departed from the village for a lengthy time. While traveling the lands, he gained new insight and several skills under the tutelage of various mentors, going so far as to sign the Spider contract along the way. The irony in using such a contract, of course, is not lost on him. He rather likes employing them and makes use of the arachnids as a statement against the principal Hayabusa enemy—the Black Spider clan. A decade having passed, his return to the village meant adjusting to several new changes. For starters, his siblings had been elevated to high positions tied to the Dragon Shrine. Katakuri, himself, has never felt an inclination towards the shrine and by extension, the spiritual teachings of the clan. In order to get even stronger, he has since then devoted most of his time to Reborn’s teachings of Niedan and Ototon.. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
