Kishi likes to incorporate Japanese mythology into naruto
old databook on susano'o
sasuke had amaterasu in his left eye and he used genjutsu with his right
itachi used amaterasu with his left eye and used tsukuyomi with his right
susano'o is the third ability
when sasuke got itachi's eyes, sasuke's left eye-amaterasu=sun combined with itachi's left eye-tsukuyomi=yin.yin and yang
and sasuke's right eye-genjutsu=yin combined with itachi's right eye-amaterasu=yang.yin and yang
itachi referred to the ems as true power
awakening the rinnegan
behind ashura is the sun symbol and behind indra is the moon
combining indra and ashura's chakra brings out hagoromo's and allows you to awaken rinnegan
having both rinnegan while in rsm
obito left rinnegan-sun staff
and madara right rinnegan-moon staff
hagoromo with both rinnegans-the sun and moon staffs
hagoromo is yin and yang both combined but when it comes to him and hamura
he had the yang seal while hamura had the yin seal.haoromo-yang and hamura-yin
naruto reminded kaguya of hagoromo and sasuke reminded her of hamura
naruto yang and sasuke yin
sasuke's left eye is the rinnegan(hagoromo)and obito who was a lot like naruto had the left rinnegan and sun staff
sasuke only awakened the rinnegan in his left eye, the left eye is symbolized by yang and the sun
boruto only awakend his new doujutsu in his right eye which is symbolized by the moon
just like hagoromo being yin and yang combined but still symbolizes yang and the sun
I think boruto's new doujutsu would be something similar but more of the yin side and symbolize a moon
a yin/moon version of the rinnegan
the ancient Japanese myth and religion of Shintō, Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, and Susanoo are all gods. When Izanagi washed his face after escaping the underworld his left eye became the Sun Goddess, Amaterasu
the ancient Japanese myth of Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, and Susanoo, where when Izanagi washed his face after escaping the underworld his right eye became Tsukuyomi, the Moon god. Interestingly, as Tsukuyomi is the Moon, he is also associated with the passing of time, and at times cited to be the God of Time (or at least of the calendar), fitting the genjutsu's ability to alter the perception of the passing of time

how it's used in awakening emsThe Susanoo is the third ability granted by the Mangekyō Sharingan to those who awaken the abilities Tsukuyomi — which symbolises the "Spiritual World and Darkness" and Amaterasu — which denotes the "Material World and Light".
