Because Naruto, the manga, and Naruto, the character, are garbage. The anime is where it's at.

Also, Sasuke > Naruto. Bolt > Naruto. Himawari > Naruto.

I love too many of them. Sure some got left behind but Shippuden did a fantastic job with Obito, Kakashi, Shikamaru, Ino, Chouji and Kabuto imo.
