The doujutsu isn't activated. The way I see it, Boruto's right eye has something in it, but it hasn't been unlocked yet.

Momoshiki saw his doujutsu through his eyes. I guess he can't activate it yet, but it's still there.

Momoshiki could see that his eye has something in it. It doesn't need to be activated, but it's still there.

I also think that's the explanation behind the grey-ish sclera. When he finally unlocks it, it will be just the iris, just like any other doujustu.

What you said isn't wrong but we're missing the fact that Boruto's Dojutsu isn't always active, even when it's there. He doesn't always "see" anything strange.

But when the eye turns on, he does. However, Teen Bolt activated his Dojutsu in the flash forward, and it looks the same as the version he has now, just pre-mastered.

Thoughts?

MS can be hax. Obito's MS is the most hax MS in the series imo.He was nerfed from getting his dual MS back

You need a Ootsutski Chakra to awaken the Tenseigan, and we know that Bolt doesn't posses one since its clearly nothing to do with Momoshiki . It's just a mutation of the Byakugan, I don't see why you jumped to the conclusion. Don't be deceived by how it looks.

Boruto actually activating it in the timeskip was one of the things that lead me into thinking​ that his doujutsu is 'dormant', but still there in some kind of way. He may need to activate it just like he did in the timeskip to unlock it's full abilities.

I mean and Shikadai and Inojin were right next to him and they didn't notice it. Also the kids at the train in the first episode, his doujutsu manifested but nobody noticed.

I think Sasuke saw through it, just like Momoshiki.

It turned off the minute that Boruto stopped focusing on Metal Lee when Inojin started talking to him, I think he probably can't control the Dojutsu yet or it isn't really 'unlocked' rather just it is reacting to what-ever chakra is being unleashed on the students.

Personally I don't think anyone has felt it yet bar Momoshiki. Sasuke seems more focused on the seal rather than Boruto's eye.

The sillohette looks akin to a chimera. Lion body snake tail. It's just missing a goat head. Perhaps it's someone's Kuchyose. Could belong to an Otsutsuki but I'm starting to believe it is not an Otsutsuki here but someone else. Possibly Orochimaru? It would set up a good intro for Mitzuki maybe?
