OP: He'll get his moment but he's not going to win the tournament. I think Goku will win by getting a new transformation and beating Jiren. But this is speculation.

Yes, but he doesn't know the whole universe going to be deleted if they lose information. Goku didn't tell him.

That's the theory behind it.

Gohan has evidently never been short of potential to surpass Goku when it's really necessary, and with Piccolo resharpening his unrefined powers, he has a greater chance of regaining them all and surpassing his current level.

We also can't miss the fact that his being a half-breed gives him the edge. It seems that gives him an advantage as his body has both the saiyan blood and human blood, which are attributable as to why his emotions tend to be a lot stronger than Goku's in his rage.

But more importantly, the time they have does kind of hint at the fact they might train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

17 is the last recruit for the team, and that will approximately leave them +25 to train their bodies. Considering the chamber defies normal time, it's not gonna be impossible for them to optimise their remaining time.

There's a lot of theories around that, and that seems to be the most plausible. It's Dragonball after all.

The most he could do is work on improving his transformation timeframe when he's combined SSB with KK, so he can stay in that form a lot longer.

Guys like Toppo can go at it without any strains as their powers aren't reliant on transformations.

That doesn't necessarily mean a new form. Even if it did it'll be bs imo he's the only one getting power up after power up. There shouldn't be anything higher than SSB. Unless they have a SSB2 etc.

You never know, when we think SSJ2 is the limit, he managed to passed that limit and transform to SSJ3. There is no limit being apply to Saiyan transformation, author is the limit. He can give Goku SSB infinite
