Eye crutch factor that's how, they get the benefit of eye based genjutsu and precog. ANYBODY with that skillset available to them genetically would be considered strong. when matched with an opponent of similar physical ability obviously sharingan gives them a plethora of advantages over such an opponent.

Let's use Hashirama and Madara as an example, although Naruto and Sasuke work as well.

When it comes to Taijutsu, they more or less fight on equal terms. But shouldn't the Uchiha stomp pretty much everybody in Taijutsu, assuming their skill is equal to the opponent?

Uchihas get free Pre-Cog for their Taijutsu fights. The fact that WITH the Sharingan they are only able to tie certain opponents tells me that their Taijutsu HAS to be worse than their opponent's. Otherwise, the Sharingan would boost them past being equals and allow them to curbstomp.

Hashi and Madara fight on equal Taijutsu terms. Yet, Hashi has no Sharingan Pre-Cog while Madara does. Same with Naruto and Sasuke.

The only logical conclusion is that both Madara and Sasuke's Taijutsu skill is actually WORSE than Hashi and Naruto, and it's only the Sharingan Pre-Cog that allows them to fight on equal terms.

No sharingan, still matched him thus his taijutsu is not worse. when he had sharingan on, naruto used clones as others have said. as for madara and hashirama, when did we ever see them in pure taijutsu battle? i don't recall so that is a baseless claim.

Also precog is not an automatic win, Lee vs sasuke explains as someone posted. it depends on their opponents obviously

Also important remembering Obito lost to Kakashi despite all his power in a taijutsu 1V1.

Why wouldn't they not fight with something like that? We also saw Sasuke keeping up and fighting on par with someone that have the physical aspect of the sages power. Uchiha without Sharingan are still exceptional taijutsu users.

Yea because they have been losing to Senju since forever right? Senju and Uchiha have been on par for ages. It only changed by a bit once Hashirama took over as lead and it wasn't even by that much.

Realistically if you can read someone's moves, it's game over regardless of their speed or your speed, but can you produce a manga-selling fight if one person keeps blocking and countering through the whole thing? No.

The precognition ability hasn't been used in a while and is obviously an ability that's been spoken of, but kept out of fights due to the easy ending of a fight it would bring.

Uchiha's aren't bad at taijutsu and regardless of whether they are good at it or not, the Sharingan would easily see through the opponents moves, creating easy openings given the right timing when using a counter-attack.

That's completely BS! Madara fight Hashirama that uses Sage mode.. sage mode it what allows Naruto and Hashirama to fight equally against Sasuke and Madara..

Manga has shown several times of Sasuke beating the shit out of Naruto until he uses Kurama's chakra, clones or sage mode..

Senju who have the body of the sage are stronger, have more endurance, more stamina which are all traits of an excellent taijutsu user. This was prevelant when Madara's father who had a Sharingan still relied on his son to evaluate the situation.

This image alone shows that while Uchiha have the visual ability to see attacks IF they fight a Senju or skilled opponent who has trained or is naturally stronger and faster then them they will have trouble. Physical prowess is not their strong point. Precision and critical strikes are their strong points.


Senju excel at CQC and power moves

Uchiha excel at Ninjutsu, Genjutsu and precision strikes

Only exception is Sage mode which critically throws the balance off as it allows the user to develop even more strength AND precog.

At the very least, TSM is arguably a bigger crutch than Sharingan, because it increases the user's taijutsu ability and their ability to anticipate an atk. Having a Sharingan only allows the user to anticipate an atk, not increased taijutsu ability.

Being able to see things in slow motion and anticipate movements can do more than you think to someone's abilities. Just envisioning things being in slow motion can do a lot for the average person.

It won't make you an immediate master of taijutsu, but it can allow you to do things you didn't know you could do.
