How different would team 7 be if Hinata was team instead of Sakura in part 1?

As we know Sakura only jutsu she knew was substitute jutsu and punching with chakra. Sakura was told to focus training instead of obsessing over Sasuke, yet doesn't train ever to learn jutsu or get stronger until end of part 1. Sakura is constantly been mean to everyone, especially more to Naruto.

Hinata on the other hand she has been shown to train really hard, she needs no one to tell her to train. Hinata doesn't care about how a individual looks, she treats everyone nice.

Hinata, might be more useful, will eventually become as useful as Sakura will ever be were she switched with Sakura.

The thing about Team 7 is that Kishi will always write Sasuke and Naruto as equals and the females will always be in the background as to not take away the spotlight from them. Heck even Kakashi started vanishing and becoming irrelevant. So having Hinata in Team 7 would not be good.

If anything, Team Taka had a better team comp since Karin was useful at times. She is a more successful Sakura in all aspect of being an effective female team member, love interest, making Sasuke care, her obsession with Sasuke, better comic relief than Sakura, better medic, and so much more.

So no. Females just suck in NV. They are better going solo. Hinata on Team 7 while she would be more useful and have better chance of supporting Naruto because she is written as a competent character, she would be changed into this useless "star-struck" chick that would just become shy around Naruto and her faceplants would probably triple in frequency.

Sakura obsession with Sasuke isn't the main problem, her problem is she didn't train even when called on her obsession.

Hinata thinks a lot about Naruto but she trains to become strong, something Sakura refused to do until Sasuke leaves the village.

I prefer Hinata being nice to everyone than Sakura who break friendships over a boy and is mean to everyone, especially more mean to those that looks ulgy in her eyes. She mean to Naruto also.

With Hinata on the team I doubt we see her insult and physically beating her friends, while Sakura enjoys doing that too much.

but I think that Sakura should be replaced with Tenten, since Tenten is not an obsessed fan-girl, her goal was to be strong, and she was always training hard with team Gai, and she trained for herself, not be acknowledged by someone as "lover", and she was supporting both Neji and Lee.

She would be a great heroine for a shonen series, her or Temari imo

Hinata would have made a much, much better heroine. She literally has every thing needed to do so, but was held back due to being a side character. If she was a main character, things would have been different.

Powers, character arc, personality, backstory. All of Hinata's are perfect for a heroine. Not to mention all the half-hearted Hyuga plots that were ignored or done poorly would get better treatment.

The show was about Naruto and Sasuke constantly trying to out due each other. Sakura not being useful HELPED them alot.

If Hinato was the 3rd character their development would have drastically changed.

Zabuza Arc:

Hinata would have spotted Zabuza in no time
Hinata would have spotted Haku in no time

With Hinata on their team they would have walked through the Forrest of death without much interference. Maybe even avoided Orochimaru all together.

Even if they did fight Orochimaru

Hinata seeing Naruto hurt would have caused her to fight Orochimaru meaning Oro would have fought Gentle Fist Hinata AND sasuke meaning Oro would've had to kill one of them(Hinata more than likely) otherwise I believe he could have lost as he was toying around.

Pal, you're literally saying she shouldn't be there because she would be better than Sakura. That's funny. =D In any case, this is more about how her development would have gone along with the overall story rather than how she would impact very specific moments like the ones you pointed out. Sides, all members of Team 7 should have been relevant, not just Naruto, Sasuke, and Kakashi.

Hinata would have been easier to implement as a relevant character, as Kishi even admitted he didn't develop Sakura because he knew people not only didn't care, but also hated her. The same can't be said for Hinata, who was always popular and Kishi knew this, so Kishi wouldn't have held back on developing her if she was an MC.

I agree with you with everything except the Bold, I mean why would Oro kill one of them when he can capture them and use them as test subjects, he is a Sanin, I know that the gentle fist may give him some trouble but I am sure that he will pull it of somehow, I mean you know Oro, the dude have even escaped Totska Blade, dealing with kids is nothing to him

I believe that he would not only try to get Sasuke, but also Hinata, he can make experiments to create a new powerful Doujutsu somehow by combining both the Sharingan and the Byakugan

Right, my bad, didn't read the OP's title. I don't think its hard to point out how she'd been more useful than Sakura, considering she was literally useless and a burden. Hinata could have pretty much avoided every little thing Sakura got herself into and then some.

Part 1 Hinata abilities would've been at the very least more useful in a combative setting (in Part 1) but that's where it ends. Part 1 Naruto benefited from Sakura’s intellectual attributes & Sasukes (something Hinata didn't/doesn't have); they were a perfect balance ability wise so wouldn't have been more useful then Sakura where it counted. An example would be Sakura teaching Naruto the fundamentals of chakra or ensuring team 7 made it pass the written portion of the chunin exams.
