We have been shown what will be the universe 7 lineup for the tournament of power and the grand priest has explained the rules of the rules of the tournament of power.
Rules.
It will be held in a massive stage.
All teams will be in there at the same time. Meaning its one big massive battle royal with 80 fighters at the same time.
The total duration of the match will be 48minutes.
You cannot kill opponents.
You are not allowed to use your energy to fly.
You can defeat opponents only by dropping them out of the stage.
A KO is not enough. You will have to toss that person out of the stage after the KO so to speak.
The team with the most members left after 48 minutes will win.
If only one warrior is left, that team will automatically win.
Which leaves the question, what will happen if there are teams with equal amount of members remaining after 48 minutes?
Every member on the universe 7 lineup useful?
I guess if you try hard enough you can make any member of the team be of use.
Krillin.
For example killing is not allowed, so fighters with low power lvls like Krillin could jump in front of attacks to make the opponent stop the attack to avoid killing

Maybe some fighters are weak vs low power lvl fighters, so in such situations, Krillin would be useful.
Opponents may underestimate him due to his power lvl, which could possibly lead to a surprise.
The tournament of power is about teamfights. Krillin knows a lot of the people on the team, which may help in good synergy. Besides the universe lineup all lives on earth which could do their teamwork good, knowing each other well.
These are basically the only things I can come up with to bring Krillin into the team.
He is strong for an earthling as he is the strongest pure earthling, but in the larger scale of things (universes) he is weak.
As his power lvl is low compared to other fighters we have seen in the dragonball super tournaments.
All Krillin's techniques can be done by someone else. F.e. Destructo disc, Kamehameha, Multiform and Solar flare are not Krillin exclusive techniques. Although multiple people using the same technique at once like f.e. Solar flare (Goku, Tien, Krillin, Gohan) might be useful.
#17 and #18.
About the same can be said for android #17 and #18. (Why dont they call themselfs Lapis and Lazuli? Isnt it a bit odd if Lazuli and Krillin her child has a friend come over or so and her mom is being called #18?. Ah well, lets stick with #17 and #18 for now).
Both #17 and #18 dont run out of energy. Will this be useful in a 48 minute match?
Good teamwork as they have fought together a lot and are twins.
Besides this, they are about in the same boat as Krillin.
Master Roshi.
He has a few special ablities. Those may come of use. He is experienced, but everyone on the team has enough experience I think.
He has a lot of experience with battles where you dont fly and others who fly out of habit might get disqualified.
How strong is Roshi nowadays?
Probably the weakest power lvl wise though.
Tien.
Tien has a wide array of techniques and one of the strongest techniques in the series with with Tribeam which uses lifeforce. He even held back 2nd form Cell for a long while, whereas #16 at the time couldnt scratch 2nd form Cell.
Keep in mind, Tien was a lot weaker than #16, yet Tribeam is this crazy.
Tien will likely will show a new technique.
He has no massive power lvl, but his techniques could come in handy.
Great character. Glad to see him again.
Will there be a universe 6 fighter of the 3 eyed clan in the tournament as well?
That could be cool.
Piccolo.
The uni6 vs uni7 tournament didnt do him justice tbh, so lets hope that this tournament will.
Namek abilities like stretching limbs, changing size and such could come in handy both for offence and defence. He could even pull people of his team back up who are thrown off.
With a lot of people in one ring, his special hearing and telepathy could be useful, as being able to communicate well could be key. CLones all over the place helps in a tournament where people need to throw each other out of the stage.
He is intelligent and certainly in the top 5 of the team power lvl wise.
Likely extra good teamwork with Gohan.
Buu.
An addition to any team. His abilities are unique and versatile.
Buu is a lot more talented than he may appear when he acts all goofy.
Buu even copied techniques from Goku and Vegeta after seeing them once.
I have rewatched Buu vs Basil several times.
Buu for the win.
The 3 saiyans.
Gohan.
Gohan is in many ways currently a weaker version of Vegeta.
What kind of Gohan are we gonna see in the tournament of power?
Gohan realised he isnt there yet after his match vs Lavender, so Gohan will likely improve before the tournament of power is held. I like the character Gohan so I hope that his comeback in the tournament will be great.
Goku has huge amount of faith in Gohan.
Also when it comes to teamwork (which Goku is bad at, also according to Whis).
Goku thinks Gohan can come up with good team strategies and he likes teamwork with Gohan?
Vegeta.
Vegeta is in many ways currently a lot stronger version of Gohan.
I hope Vegeta gets a new special technique for the tournament. Vegeta has a high power lvl, even in universe perspective and with god ki, gained something very special (as we saw from the reaction of the gods watching universe 7 vs 9, when Goku went ssjblue).
However Vegeta lacks special techniques.
He is basically high lvl hand to hand combat, raw energy waves and intelligent.
Goku.
Like Vegeta he has a high power lvl, even in universe perspective and special god ki.
However Goku also has some interesting techniques.
They wont be able to use their energy for flight, but if Goku gets thrown out of the ring, he can instant transmission back up or even instant transmission to teammates who fall off to teleport them back up.
Goku is not intelligent in general like Vegeta, but Goku is battlesmart.
Vegeta and Goku are not known to be good at and liking teamwork.
However with the universe at state, this could be different.
Just as they worked together to help Future Trunks his world.
Who knows, apart from teamwork we may see fusion.
Like fanservice with ssjblue Gogeta.
As the tournament is about teamfights, so the fusion dance is likely allowed.
Although I think a Gohan + Goku fusion dance fusion could be cool too. How would that fusion be called?
Hanku? Gokhanu? Gogohanku? Gohanku? Gokuhan? Something else? Kinda hard to find a name as both Goku and Gohan have Go in their name.
Goku doesnt seem worried about the teamwork part and has great faith in Gohan.

I think its cool to see many of the z fighters be part again of a battle that matters.
However to make all the fighters be of serious use they probably need to hand out some new abilities to several.
As a reason like Krillin can jump in front of attacks to make opponents cancel them to avoid killing him, is not being of real serious use imo. Such things is really stretching it. Just as multiple people using solar flare is. That technique is not rocketscience. If its so important they could probably learn it to the whole team before the tournament. You dont need Krillin for Solar flare as several others can do it too. Its Tien's technique if I recall.
Other options?
Although I can understand that can be difficult to design some new universe 7 fighters as what will you do with them after the tournament?
Maybe they could have come up with some we already know or kinda know.
Like someone from planet Yardrat (where Goku learned instant transmission and the fusion dance).
Dende joining the team with his healing or teaching it to Piccolo if possible.
Maybe Frieza could have joined if he would have been killed after the tournament, instead of in revival of F.
Other options could possibly be a revived Pikkon?
Maybe Buu could turn the Dabura cookie into the real Dabura again?
Uub couldnt join unless they made Uubs first appearance at the end of dbz not part of the dragonball super storyline.
They could have possibly picked a movie character and turn that person into cannon.
