[Discussion] Will Gohan win or lose?

The Dragon Ball fanbase is currently divided on the matter of Son Gohan. Some are saying his fight against Lavenda will be the defeat that wakes him up and leads him to retrain for his eventual comeback, while others argue that he will lose and this will be the wake-up call needed for him to retrain and get back into shape.

I couldn't care less for the result. Either way, Gohan greatness is on its way.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

Probably lose, it's only an exhibition plus Gofool still has to fight so most likely to tie it up and make Gofool have a purpose to win.

Nah, filler is filler obviously doesn't count. But when you filter that shet out of Naruto it's ok.

Still trash but that's because it's been going on longer than DBS, but less than a 100 episodes and DBS is shet...that super vegito bs, then trunks, less and less vegeta (the real one), goku isn't goku, characters are more whacky and retarded, it's just a big ass waste of time.

I wish they just go back to the original style of the anime and seriousness.

Didn't he already realize he needs to become stronger after the whole frieza thing

He'll probably lose this one to make it more suspenseful when Goku fights. But the wolf asked if he can kill and I don't see Gohan dying obviously and the preview teases something will get one sidely beaten but something happens. I'm exicited. Confused as to why he's a super saiyan I thought going Ultimate replaces the need hence why he attacked Beerus without going SS and never went SS against Buutenks. They even changed him going super saiyan in battle of gods.

The Dragon Ball franchise was never intended or made to be a serious anime/Manga, it is a show about light hearted adventure, nothing more or less. This is a common misconception among more casual fans created by the more serious tone the English dub of Z tries to give the show. Gokus character is actually quite consistent throughout the franchise and vegetas character arc has been leading to a "kinder" Vegeta since the android arc at least. Random power ups such as Trunks' Super Saiyan Ikari form have been a staple of the show since Z began. Super has actually begun to repair the mistakes made by Z by reincorporating forgotten characters. Super is a show for those who truly enjoy the franchise as a whole

I think he's going to lose..

I stated before that Gohan not training will take his character even further if he loses because he would know that hitting the books isn't going to keep his family safe but being strong an able to protect them will..
This bout isn't about win or lose but to entertain the omni-king!

His lose will push him to become stronger & start to training again.. (There's no other training for him at this point other than Angel Whis training)
Gohan will be mysticSSB when the actual tournament begins.. I'm hoping!!!

Hunter x Hunter is the best anime. Altough, if you're the kind that only focuses in fights and cool abilities and don't really care about a deep plot with character development then i see why you'd pick another one.

Gohan does NOT need to lose to take his training serious enough.

He already wants to get stronger to protect his loved ones.
He has resumed training with Piccolo.
When Gohan jumped into the ring previous episode, he was eager to show to his father, how strong he is right now.

He is already making effort to get stronger again.
If he needs to do this even more, barely winning against Lavenda will give this result as well.
As it will show him that where he is, might not be enough next time.
He will realise he needs to be better prepared next time and therefore will increase his training.
It will be a ''damm that was a close call, I need to increase the lvl of my training more'' type of wake up call.

Besides Whis is also watching. Who may want to train Gohan too.
Regardless of if Gohan wins or loses.

I dont want Gohan to lose after waiting so long to see Gohan in a serious fight again.

We also dont know if this pretournament will be over if uni7 has won 2 out of 3.
As the matches are to entertain Zeno.
The third match Goku vs Bergamo could just as well start with Uni7 having 2 out of 3 due to Buu and Gohan winning.
Meaning Gohan and Buu winning does not have to be an issue.
As some people say Gohan needs to lose for it to be 1-1, making Goku vs Bergamo the tiebreaker,
however a tiebreaker is maybe not relevant for these pretournament matches.

Just make Uni 7 win 3-0. If one of the uni 7 fighters has to lose I rather see Goku lose one due to some surprise ability and have Gohan and Buu win theirs tbh.
We will probably see Goku shine enough in the future episodes.
It might also be interesting to see Zeno's reaction to Goku losing.
