Each time he had started Genjutsu, each time his teacher had disappeared. Tiashe has started the field two times, yet each time, his teachers had to go off somewhere and informed him that they could not teach anymore. Why it was like that, Tiashe did not know. But now here was again, standing in the famous training grounds, waiting for his new Genjutsu teacher. He hoped that this one would not be called on some errand whilst training like the other two did. Tiashe knew that learning this art was a means of further improving himself as a Shinobi.
Ugh o.o one of my favorite skills. Genjutsu! Lemme see the last technique you had done and I'd like you to perform it. Also, give me your opinion about it. How useful is it?
Tiashe looked up as someone appeared. He assumed that it was his new Genjutsu teacher, as the man asked him to perform the last technique he had learnt. He wondered how the man knew that he was actually his student, and not someone else, so he said, Greetings, I am Tiashe Raggs. I look forward to learning Genjutsu under you.
Upon the teacher telling him to perform the last technique, Tiashe responded with a Very well.
But since this was a Genjutsu technique, Tiashe knew that he could not showcase it without doing it on someone. And there was no one around. Except for one person. Oh well, his teacher would have to experience the Genjutsu first hand then.
Tiashe gathered chakra and and sent it out of his body to his teacher instead. Using this, Tiashe created an illusion on his teacher by changing the terrain. Instead of the nice grassy training grounds, both teacher and student instead found themselves in a barren land now, looking as dry as though there had been no rain for centuries. The ground was cracked.
Tiashe kept this illusion, and would continue to do so until he was told to release it. Whilst still holding the Genjutsu, Tiashe went on to answer the teachers questionas to what his own opinion about this technique was.
I think this technique is pretty basic, but nevertheless, it can be used to subtly trick opponents. For example, if there was a deep hole in the ground at a certain place, I could use this to make it seem like there was grass there, and no hole. If the opponent then chooses to charge at me, they would actually fall into that hole in reality. So this technique does have its uses.

From the look of his student, House knew that this kid wasn't a starter. As House observes his ever changing surroundings changing.
You know, that's a really good point you make there. Covering up a hole that your opponent could fall in. Change the entire terrain into an ocean or grow really tall grass and your opponent won't be able to see you. I can see that you'll be really creative with this one. Just remember one thing. You can only manipulate the way the terrain looks with this jutsu. Nothing else.

Description: The user makes five handseals, appearing to dissolve into a shower of cherry blossom petals. These petals surround the opponent, blocking his vision. This allows the user to mask his movement effectively.
With this technique, you'll be making five handseals Tiger → Boar → Tiger → Horse → Ox, then channel your chakra into your opponent's mind that your body turned into hundreds of cherry blossom petals. As your body dissolve into these petals then these petals travel onto your opponent and they'll start covering him and eventually consume his whole body in petals. To be honest with you, before you can even cover your opponent's vision with these petals, if they have some kind of doujutsu (sharingan, byakugan, rinnegan) they'll see this and before you can even cover your own movements, they might aswell send a wind blast towards you and to blow away these petals. If you notice the damage points N/A, this means that it won't hurt them and they can stay in this genjutsu if they decide to until the turn ends.

Description: The user does one handseal and throws a paper bomb at the enemy. The enemy, trapped in a genjutsu will see a clone of the user advancing upon him. As the paper bomb reaches the enemy, it explodes
This is a fairly straightforward technique too! You sign a handseal and you'll throw a paper bomb at the enemy. Since your enemy is in a genjutsu, they'll vision the clone that you made and it'll start running towards them. As the paper bomb reaches the enemy, (namely the clone in the enemy's eyes,) it'll explode upon impact. See the damage of 20. That's coming from the explosion of the paper bomb. It says short range but make sure you're not within arms range. Short range is from 1-5 meters so just be sure to keep your distance when the paper bomb explodes. Alright, perform these two jutsus!
Tiashe nodded to his teacher's advice, and then went on to listen to his explanation of the next two jutsus. He was also provided with scrolls to aid in the explanation. House then created two clones for the purpose of Tiashe using the genjutsu techniques on them.
Tiashe faced the first clone, making sure he was within the required ten metre or so range. He then formed the given set of hand seals, whilst gathering chakra. This chakra was then released by Tiashe, and traveled to the brain of the clone. Using this chakra, Tiashe manipulated the clone into seeing Tiashe dissolve into hundreds of cherry blossom petals. But he did not stop here. Tiashe further went on to manipulate the clone by controlling the image of the petals so that the petals traveled to the clone and surrounded his body with it. This blocked the vision of the clone, and Tiashe knew that in a situation like this, he could take advantage of it and attack the clone, though he did not. He moved on to the next clone for the next technique instead.
For this one, Tiashe moved a little closer to the clone, standing just a little under five metres away from him. Standing there, Tiashe formed one hand seal whilst gathering chakra again. He channeled it to the clone's brain, manipulating it to see an image of Tiashe running towards him. In reality, Tiashe had actually thrown a paper bomb at the clone. If the clone did not defend, this paper bomb would go on to explode on the clone as it made impact.
Alright, what can you tell me about the next two jutsus. I've seen your description so I'm sure you can describe how to perform it but I want you to tell me in what instances would you use these two techniques. Break these techniques down for me.

Description: The user performs two handseals causing it to appear as if a swirl of leaves surrounds the opponent. The swirl eventually falls away, and after a few seconds, the opponent sees the image of whatever they fear the most, shocking them and potentially causing them to faint.
This first technique is the one that was used in the Chuunin exams. I wouldn't really want to use it, but if I did, it would be with my real body hiding and attacking, making it seem like the clones are attacking. It is used for confusing purposes, or to tire out the opponent. It also frustrates the opponent, as the clones multiply. To dispel it, the user has to be found.
The next technique is one I would potentially use. Although it doesn't cause any damage, it can be used to frighten an opponent. It's one you would use in a combo. The opponent's shock will allow for an easier attack on them. However, the swirling of the leaves will probably alert the opponent that it is a genjutsu.
I have a question. In battles, can I say that I recognise a genjutsu because I've learnt it?

No that's not usually a good enough reason, you'd have to use another way to figure it out. It seems like a logical answer but then everyone would use it.
Anywho, Genjutsu! Welcome to it Illusions and shit, lets get right into it. " I'm gonna introduce you to Kai. This technique is the release method of Genjutsu, I'm gonna put you into an illusion and I want you to deduct it then from what you know of Kai and break out of it."
Akaharu puts Tiashe into a Genjutsu where illusionary clones pop out of the ground all around him, the begin to attack in different formations and Akaharu moves with them as they all move around keeping their distance. Since Akaharu informed Tiashe that he was going to put him in a Genjutsu, he wasn't too surprised when he was in it. Clones of his teacher started popping out of the ground and attacking him. Sometimes they seemed to miss him. But Tiashe was having none of that. He also attacked them back. However, each time he did, the clones began to multiply. This indicated to Tiashe that he was in a Genjutsu, as it wasn't natural for that to happen. Unknown to Tiashe, Akaharu was also in the crowd of clones, and punched Tiashe in the gut.
Reeling backwards from the blow, Tiashe realised he should quickly end this illusion he was in by using Kai like Akaharu had mentioned. Performing a hand seal, Tiashe focused carefully on the flow of his chakra. Then, he forcefully stopped this flow for a very short moment and spiked his spiritual energy, which in turn disturbed the flow of his chakra. The Genjutsu ended abruptly, allowing Tiashe to see only one true Akaharu standing there. His chakra flow had also returned to normal.

Okay.It seems kind of funny to walk in circles when you think you're walking straight haha.
He gave a little chuckle at the thought of it. Nevertheless, when Akaharu created a clone, and it started to walk in a straight line, he gathered chakra and channeled it to the clone, sending it into its brain. This created an illusion in the clone, making him think that he was walking in a straight line, but Tiashe could see that he was now walking in circles. Description: The user creates an illusionary clone that charges towards the enemy, jumps, then explodes in a cloud of cherry blossom petals which results in confusing the opponent and obscuring their vision, leaving them open for attack.
Hell Fire is useful because it makes the opponent think that there is a fireball coming towards them, so they would be occupied in trying to defend against it I guess. This gives the opportunity to follow up with an attack. Also, since it's big, it can block vision, leaving them unable to see certain attacks. I think you can know it's a Genjutsu because fire attacks don't usually come from the sky, but originate from the user instead. I'm not too sure though...
For Mist Technique, similar reason to the previous one. It obscures vision because of the petals exploding in front of the opponent. You can use this moment to attack, or to switch with a clone for tricking purposes and such. Well, it's basically pretty useful if used creatively. The opponent can know it's a Genjutsu because to see a person explode, and into petals at that, it would seem rather strange.

"A better way is the fact that it gives off no heat when fire should. And the best way in my opinion is to throw a kunai straight at the clone as it's coming towards you, since it's freeform it wouldn't take much time and you can perform a jutsu at near enough the same time as throwing a kunai, the knife would just go straight through the illusionary clone - also the petals wouldn't be real neither, just reaching out and trying to grab a handful of them wouldn't work."
Akaharu then folds his arms, "The next illusion is very similar to the former, however a lot easier to discern - so I will explain it to you and you don't need to perform. It puts the target in a distorted reality, it will basically blind them to what they can see around them whilst also giving them the impression that they are slowly sinking. As they sink further they will be unable to move more and more. Right... give me a way that you can break out of a C-Rank genjutsu that isn't Kai."

Oh right, I forgot the fact that they are just illusions. So basically, if the appropriate senses don't respond to an object in a Genjutsu, then I would know it's a Genjutsu.
Using the lightning technique Chidori Nagashi is another way to break out of a Genjutsu. The lighting disrupts the chakra.
As Akaharu explained the next one, Tiashe felt it first hand as he was put into the Genjutsu. He felt like he was paralysed all of a sudden, and could not move even though he wanted to. Once Akaharu released him from it, Tiashe answered his last question.
In such a situation, it would be ideal to have someone with you to break you out of it. It can be a person or even a Bijuu.

"Yes my teacher always said to use all 5 of your senses, and if none of them correlate then it's a good way of getting out of it."
"Yes but what if you're alone? That wouldn't work and you'd succumb. This brings us to another part of Genjutsu which are Full-body surges and they can release you from genjutsu without the need of moving a lot of the time. Two examples of Full-body surges are A-Rank lightning Nagashi and S-Rank Earth Hardening Technique. Do you have any of these two?"
"Full Body Surges release you from Genjutsu 1 rank lower than their rank, so A-Rank nagashi breaks you out of B-Rank genjutsu only. Full Body surges are technique that flood your whole chakra system and basically spike it so that it removes any foreign chakra by overpowering it with this sudden rush of chakra you sent to every tenketsu in your body. Good thing about Nagashi and Hardening Technique is that you can be still and as long as you can mold chakra you can release yourself from genjutsu"
Akaharu let himself breath ashe had talked a lot, but he moved on swiftly to teach some more techniques. "This next jutsu can be pretty tricky to understand, by performing 3 hand seals you will put your opponent into a double layered genjutsu. This gen is similar to the other false surroundings technique, well it basically is that technique just stronger and more confusing. You will apply two genjutsu and choose which one takes effect first, whether they see a desert first and once release see a forest making them feel like they have successfully dispelled the illusion. This is more like two C-Rank illusions combined into one. Now... any questions? I also have a qustion for this technique for you."
"Why is this technique at a disadvantage when opponent's release themselves from it?"
Type: Supplmentary
Rank: B-Rank

Description:
The user will do a sequence of 3 handseals, putting his opponents under a double layered Genjutsu. The user is able to create false surroundings to fool his targets, much like the simpler version of the technique. However, the illusion is in fact layered. If the opponent manages to release the first one, he will then feel the effects of the second illusion. If, for example, the first illusion is that of a desert and the second that of a forest, upon releasing the first one, the opponent will see the desert fade away while the forest appears around him, making him think he dispelled the illusion while in essence he is still caught in one. Each illusion is equivalent to C-Rank and both are casted at the same time. While normal releases will release only one illusion at a time, a strong enough pain or an external source of chakra can dispel both at the same time.
This was very interesting. It seemed that there were multiple ways to combat genjutsu, even though these full body surges only worked against genjutsu a rank lower than them.
Performing a sequence of hand seals, Tiashe sent his chakra to Akaharu, inserting it into his brain. He cast two C-ranked genjutsus at the same time. Since they were in a grassy clearing, Tiashe made the area appear to be mountainous. It was obvious that this was a genjutsu. He then pretended to release it, but actually, he returned the area back to a grassy field, although it was still part of the genjutsu.
Although Tiashe had no questions, he found the question that Akaharu had asked him to be really difficult to grasp. Why would a technique be at a disadvantage?
Um, maybe because if the setting is returned to the original, it won't really have much of an effect...

As soon as the scenery changed Akaharu nodded, he did well with the Genjutsu and just to make sure he had done both he twists his finger hard, causing a slight sore pain and breaking him out of the first. He saw that the next one was a grassy field. Though does that mean he failed? Akaharu twisted a finger on his other hand and released himself from the second part.
"Oh.. No not really it's kind of clever to make the scenery slightly similar but with a few minor differences - maybe an extra boulder or tree in this new grassy field so that you can conceal things in plain sight. The opponent wouldn't be able to tell the different if a slight thing like a boulder or couple trees were added to a bunch of them. Ya know? But my answer was going to be once they have figured out one genjutsu they can break out of both with high enough pain or a fullbody surge - like Nagashi would just cancel out the whole jutsu and the second scenery wouldn't even be seen."
"This Next Genjutsu requires a Sword." Akaharu takes out a barnacle from his Ninja pouch and it transforms into a Sword made out of what looked like really hard shell, he hands it to his student Tiashe and then takes a step back, "Genjutsu are induced in various ways, for this it's the movement of the sword being waved baaaack and foooorth. It has to be seen by the opponent and it will cause them to be put into a genjutsu where they hallucinate seeing multiple waving arms, taking them off guard as they are but in a sort of hypnosis state - you can cut them down. "Let me go through these jutsu with you first before you perform the initial, this requires five hand seals which you got to remember is quite a lot and takes up time. This will cause you to appear to dissolve into mist to your opponent and allows you to stealthily approach whilst the opponent feels immobilised as they believe a tree has grown from the very ground at high speeds to bind them - would work very well with a wood user. From the enemies point of view they will seem to think that you will emerge from the very tree and attack! What's the usual difference between Paralysis and Immobilisation?"
( Magen: Jubaku Satsu ) - Demonic Illusion: Tree Binding Death
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes five handseals, and appears to dissolve into a mist. Once they stealthily approach the target and get within short-range, the opponent feels completely immobilized, and believes they have been bound by a fast-growing tree and are unable to move. The user then appears as if they emerge from the tree to attack the target. In reality, the target is immobilized, allowing the user to strike or interrogate them.
"This next jutsu is similar to Tree Binding Death except only requires four hand seals to trigger the illusion rather than five. Again you dissappear whilst the target sees bean vines grow around and beneath to bind his body and lift them high. The been pod opens to reveal you read to attack. Remember that where you appear in the genjutsu's illusionary world does not have to correlate with where you are in the real world."
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: Similar to Illusion Technique: Tree Binding Death, the user will do the Dog → Hare → Snake → Ram hand seals and trigger an illusion where the user first disappears, while the target sees several bean vines growing from the ground around and beneath him. These vines bind the target body, lifting them into the air. Then a bean pod rises from the ground to reveal the user, ready to strike. In reality, the opponent is immobilized by the illusion, allowing the user to strike.
"Another Plant like Genjutsu that requires no hand seals but can easily be figured out, the victim will appear to be trapped in a large flower bud which just explodes. Because the Genjutsu tricks the mind the opponent thinks it's real and causes him to take mental stress - a form of Genjutsu damage that effects the mind and can cause shinobi to pass out from if they take too much. For your first combo attack against me you can use any of these jutsu IF YOU WANT plus the Leaf Ninja Art : Willow. Good luck."
( Magen: Hanarasui ) - Demonic Illusion: Flower Head Death
Rank: B
Type: Offensive/Supplementary
Range: Short- Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40 due to stress on the mind
Description: The user will trap the target within an illusion where the opponent appears to be trapped in a large flower bud which then explodes. The opponent is made to believe that an explosion actually occurred and collapses, believing himself to be injured. The resulting stress on his mind causes damage.
"Also would you like me to go over the Variables of Pain that release you from certain Ranked Genjutsu?"
Oh, haha. Okay, that makes more sense than my explanation.
Taking the sword, Tiashe listened to the instructions for the next techniques.
Well, it's short range so it would be fitting to follow up with a Taijutsu attack, since if an elemental attack is used, it may injure the user too.
Oh yes, with a wood user, the victims won't even know they are in a genjutsu! I think the difference between paralysis and immobilisation in this situation is that paralysis numbs the mind whereas immobilisation stops the limbs from moving even if one wants to. Their mind should not be affected in the same way as with paralysis.
Yes, please do go over them.
With the explanations completed, Tiashe channeled chakra into Akaharu's brain, putting him under the illusion that he was trapped in a large flower bed that then exploded. Taking advantage of the stress Akaharu would be feeling, Tiashe jumped into short range of Akaharu and started waving the sword from side to side like a willow tree blowing in the wind. Once Tiashe felt that Akaharu was off guard, he followed up by moving closer to Akaharu, before performing an uppercut on his chin, releasing lightning as he did so.

Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user will strike the target into the air with a lightning infused uppercutting palm attack.
After Akaharu would be freed from this genjutsu, Tiashe performed a series of five hand seals and channeled his chakra to Akaharu's brain again. This time he would see an illusion of Tiashe dissolving into a mist. He would then feel immobilised as he would believe that he had been bound by a fast moving tree. Akaharu would then see Tiashe appear from within the tree, ready to attack. However, Tiashe had moved his real body behind Akaharu, before punching him in the back.
Once again, after Akaharu was back to normal, Tiashe did the same as the previous technique, except with a different set of hand seals. This time, Akaharu would see Tiashe disappear, while he would be trapped in vines growing from the ground under and around him. They would lift him into the air, and then Akaharu would see Tiashe rise from the ground in a bean pod, ready to attack. In reality, Tiashe would be in front of Akaharu, and would slam his palm into Akaharu's chest, sending him flying.

Akaharu readies for the assault, impressed that Tiashe would use the Genjutsu with no hand seals first as a way to put Akaharu into the Genjutsu straight away with no warning. A Flowerbud spawns below him, an illusion that Akaharu clearly sees through as it seemingly spawned from no where under him, didn't raise him off the ground and only restricted him as it covered him up which made sense but why did it spawn so silently? If something erupted from the ground like this it wouldn't be silent. Akaharu bites his lip hard causing it to cut and breaks him out of the illusion. However as soon as he broke out of it he was faced with a waving sword, and he saw multiple of them - another good usage when closing the gap.
Akaharu slightly distracted by the blades remembers he has a fight, the fact that these swords were just waving in front of him and multiple of them at that in a hazy fashion screamed illusion. He released a burst of unfocused lightning throughout his body and zapping Tiashe before he could perform the punch. Akaharu now broken out of the second genjutsu saw Tiashe in front of him about to go for the uppercut. He smirked.
(Raiton: Chidori Nagashi) - Lightning Release: One Thousand Birds Current
Rank: A
Type: Offense/Defence
Range: Short (Mid if channeled through a medium)
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A (+10 if used to boost weapon damage)
Description: This jutsu allows the user to generate non-focused electricity from their body. It can be used as an omnidirectional attack or be channeled through weapons, the ground or other conductive mediums. Because the electricity isn't focused, it doesn't kill on contact, instead it has great numbing and paralyzing effects. To channel Nagashi through a medium, the user needs to focus the technique into one of his hands which will then be put in contact with the medium and can only choose to either do a widespread attack throughout his whole body or to channel it into something; he cannot achieve both usages at the same time. Despite not having much destructive or damaging properties, Nagashi can be used to destroy low rank earthen and wooden structures and even negate chakra on the ground to stop high ranked earth and wood techniques. It has also been noted that Lightning Specialists that have mastered Lightning to the highest degree can resist total paralyzation, although they still feel the pain and numbing effects.
Note: Paralyzation lasts 1 turn if sucessful but is ineffective against bios who have a primary Lightning Specialty
"Sorry for the Dirty Tactic, but your move ends there." Akaharu slams his left palm into Tiashe as he was paralysed and still he would be sent back. (Even though it's training, 3 moves if I ask you to perform a move since 3 jutsu per turn is the proper way in fights).
"Good Work though Tiashe."
"Depending on the Rank of the Gnejutsu you can release yourself with a variant of pain, the higher the rank the more pain you have to induce. I will tell you the equivalents for each one.
D-Rank can be simply broken out of a genjutsu by inducing pain similar to chipping a finger, like when you have to to perform a summoning jutsu. Little pain.
C-Rank can be broken just by biting the inside of your cheek, punching yourself, slapping yourself - summit like that.
B-Rank is quite similar to C-Rank except your gotta punch yourself a little harder, stomp on your foot.
A-Rank is usually stuff like stabbing yourself, in a minor muscle, a bit of bleeding and maybe breaking a pinky (Like how shikamaru did against Tayuya). Jutsu effects like high heat or voltage.
S-Rank gets painful - even crippling. Deep cuts, harsh burns - maybe even resorting to biting your tongue off - however this will cause death of blood loss after a few turns."
