[Discussion] Why Are Anime Haters Such Hypocrites?

I never got that.

How is watching anime and reading manga bad, but they'll go watch Disney, DC, Marvel, read comics and watch Cartoons?

And yes, I know a hater who watches Cartoons. She's a relative of mine and not the only one who bashes me for it. She says that anime is retarded and stupid before watching Doc McStuffins and shows that are for small children and babies. Hell, she won't even give it a chance.

Two haters even said there are statistics that show that anime and manga fans are nothing but fat losers, who live in their mother's basements and are pedophilic worthless people. That is a total lie. Haters are always making up negative stereotypes just to bully fans.

I know a lot of fans, even myself, are not that. A lot of us live normal lives, have families, jobs, go to school, and are just ordinary people. I'm still waiting for someone to give me a source on those stats.


What is your opinion on this? Does it make you angry?

Animation is for all ages and deserves respect. Tropes and popular examples of anime have created this image of anime that in many cases, is hardly worth of the masterpiece hall of art haha

Western/Eastern comics and manga adaptations are equal in target demographic and cultural impact. Who cares if people downplay your interests? That's why they're yours, not theirs...

Whilst there are good series and genuine good writing/artists have come from the medium, it's hardly art as a whole.

Well it's general knowledge that anything cartoon-related isn't fruitful for the brain, and rather is detrimental to a growing teenager. In an argument of anime I certainly would lose because pretty much everyone that doesn't watch anime has this perception that it's for retarded people that don't have anything conducive to do. There's that and the fact anime was never invented to teach us things about life, although it's accidentally doing that exact thing
