What's with people and time skips? People keep saying that there's going to be a new one despite that the chance of that happening is almost zero. Yes Oda might skip a few days or weeks, like between Dressrosa and Zou, however that's something he does regularly and really has no relevance to actual combat training and thus really can't be called a time skip.
Do you know how much time has passed since they left Shabondy? It's difficult to make an exact estimation as Oda rarely gives concrete time indications, however I would say a month would be an accurate estimation. Luffy trained for two years in a hellish environment with one of the best Haki users in the world who said that he left a month early because there wasn't anything left he could teach him. All of that was to prepare Luffy for the New World and everyone in it, including Yonkou. Luffy had a preparation none of this rivals received. And then after a month people reason that Luffy can never beat a Yonkou and needs a new time skip? If Luffy isn't ready now, another half a year or so is not going to make a difference. Meaning this time the time skip would have to last a decade or something, which is really not going to happen.
The reality here is very simple: if Oda thought that 2 years wouldn't be enough for Luffy, then he would have made the original time skip last longer as doing a 2nd, longer time skip shortly after the first one, makes the latter one completely irrelevant. Especially when the justification is that Luffy isn't strong enough. When was Luffy ever supposed to be as strong as the guys he fought during the first half of the series? How did it make sense that a rookie who just entered the Grand Line was able to beat Crocodile, a Shichibukai? How did it make sense that a single rookie pirate crew beat CP9 and invaded Enies Lobbies? Beating characters that are supposed to be way out of his league, is Luffy's specialty. So there is really not going to be a time skip for a reason like that.
Also parlor tricks? Luffy used a high tier move against Cracker he didn't use against Doflamingo, so the chance that he has several more of those, is quite high and even if he doesn't, Oda will just give it to him as again that's what he did in the first half of the series.
And they really are not going to go all the way back to East Blue. Putting aside that that would ruin the story, even if they did it once before that doesn't mean they can suddenly go back and forth on a whim. The log pose decides your path and you can't force it to go quicker unless the Strawhats would somehow find eternal log poses for all their homes. On top of that BM is really not subtle enough to just limit her punishment to the individuals in question that are personally related to the Strawhats. She would just destroy the entire island. So not only would the Strawhats have to go all the way back they came from, along the road they would have to evacuate thousands of people. And what are they supposed to do with them then? If BM can reach them in East Blue, she can reach them anywhere.
It's really simple. If Big Mum really has all the intentions to hunt down everyone related to the Strawhats, there is only one thing they can do: beat the crap out of her. That Luffy is supposed to be no match, is something that never held back neither him nor Oda. With the current BM arc and the Wano and Reverie arcs coming up, they story is gaining momentum, so the last thing it needs is chain like a time skip that makes it lose that momentum.
