Is the game good? I was thinking about buying a PS4 for FFX remake, FFXV, and the FFVII remake.
i like it so far but i also havent put in a lot of time to get far enough to really give a good opinion on it. its definitely different though from normal FF, i kind of like the old battle system style better but this isnt bad. FFX so far is better but FF games are so long, might change my mind

Have you played FFX before? It's a good game...very sad though. FFXV has a real time MMORPG combat style doesn't it? I think the FFVII remake will be similar. They are really moving away from turn-based combat styles.

yeah ive played and beaten every main FF game except XV, actually the first game i ever beat was FFVIII. i was a kid..i liked the more real time in XIII but this one has some elements i feel take away from it being better, because of the focus on the new system

not to say its not fun though, i also hope its not exactly like this. FFVII had a good system imo but i try to be open minded so we'll see, ill be playing either way

I haven't played Final Hallway XIII yet. My newest console is the PS2. I was thinking about possibly downloading it on the Sony network. Everyone seems to hate it though. I really enjoy World of Warcraft, so I'm used to the MMORPG combat style. I really enjoyed FFXII; it was a nice mix of turn-based and MMORPG real-time. FFVIII is my favorite btw.

The game itself should have won Game of the Year so I think they can let it slide.
Two things.
1. The game was released too close to TGA(The Game Awards) 2016, so it couldn't be nominated.

2. Don't read the spoiler if you haven't played through most of the story yet.
The story, while good, was also very short as well as the characters having no sense of importance to the player aside from the team of 4. That is just a definite factor of getting yourself out of the GOTY race.

I respectfully disagree with your second point.
The story may have been short in comparison to other FF games, however once the game becomes linear and the story takes the front seat there was still a solid 8-10 hours of content of just nonstop story missions. As for the characters, I initially didn't care for any of them but after sinking 40+ hours in the first half of the game alone just running around doing quests they really started growing on me. Square Enix did a very good job giving these characters very well written personalities and I did over time become attached to them. Then once I finally was satisfied with the open world and began the more linear half of the game seeing those characters being torn apart and the drama between them really started tugging at my heart strings. By the end I have to say that after investing so much time with the characters I was quite emotionally distraught with the end of their arcs. That level of connection isn't something I can say I've had with many video games. But i can completely understand why this wouldn't apply to everyone, as this connection could easily be missed if you either skipped the open world section and just went straight into the story section, or jumped into the story and then go back to the free roam to invest hours into the game.
