Does none else think he could just redirect the lightning with his raikiri? its the same thing sasuke is doing and technically sasuke doesnt have any chakra connected to kirin controlling it he's only guiding it so kakashi could interfere

I'm not too sure that Kakashi would suffer any damage even if he was hit with Kirin. This idea comes from the fight Sasuke had with the Raikage and others. When Darui hit Sasuke with the Wave of Inspiration, Sasuke didn't seem to be affected at all. So that should mean Sasuke wasn't affected by a lightning attack since he has an affinity for it. The same goes for when Sasuke used Chidori on Ay. They said that nothing could penetrate Ay's lightning armor, but Sasuke's hand touch Ay's skin, although it didn't penetrate the skin.

This is also presented when Sasuke attacks Killer Bee. Bee channeled electricity through one of his swords to cut the Executioner's Blade, but because Sasuke channeled electricity through the Executioner's blade, Bee's sword was stop. So that probably means lightning techniques against those with an affinity for lightning negate each other, canceling each other out.

I get that but if raikiri is indeed as "sharp" as claimed does the power really matter? We're talking one "extremely" sharp focal point of lightning against a big powerful wide one that's more about being destructive

It doesn't matter because Kakashi won't be shielded, Kirin will overwhelm his raikiri because he doesn't have the power to create lightning of a similar level. A simple chidori was able to penetrate Raikage's lightning shield so imagine what Kirin would do to Kakashi.

Even if you buy that Kakashi did react to and cut a lightning bolt in half, kirin is way too big and way too fast to be cut through with something as small as raikiri. Kakashi's defense for kirin would be kamui.

itachi didn't block with yata mirror. And depending how you look at it itachi reacted so it being an impossibility is out of the question

Kakashi can use Kirin if he shows interest in exploring his Raiton options instead of playing with his original creation, but why not? I'd also devote myself to something that I created.

When he use kamui rakiri, he has both MS and he can faze around it simply.

kakashi cant do shit to kirin in terms of cutting it, lets be serious here. not only did kirin level the uchiha hideout, it destroyed soosano showing its an attack with not just a wide aoe but good potency as well. so unless kakashi has any feat of cutting or stopping anything on that scale, he gets decimated if he attempts to cut it.

Are people really debating this? Kirin isn't one lightning bolt. It is a combination of so many lightning bolts that the impact can flatten a Mountain. Unless Raikiri is stronger than something that can flatten a Mountain there is no arguing that Raikiri does anything to it whether or not it be redirecting or overpowering or cutting it.

Only if he uses Rikudo chakra. Plus, if this is Rinnegan Sasuke, Sasuke can just use Amenojikara on Kakashi and Kirin to be ahead of him

There are many things that are faster than sound. There are several people who can move at the speed of light, as well as use techniques at the same speed. Besides, Kakashi managed to damage the Gedo Mazo with Kamui, so I doubt a mere shaped lightning will be much tougher.

Except, of course, Kakashi's chakra reserves practically quadrupled(if not more) in the war arc(and Kakashi never summoned anything in the Pain Arc), and he has the ability to warp the juubi, and kamui sucks in whatever it's trying to warp, so size doesn't matter, which was also shown when he warped Deidara's explosion.
