They still have gaara's features , they are most likely still related as gaara was pressed to have children so that shikadai won't become kazekage, shinju looks a lot like kankuro and the guy Sakura punched as a puppet

You get chosen to be the next kage, it's not something you're born into. Plus you have to be a me member of that village to be the kage, and Kankuro is still alive.

Well guess what, the guy writing the Boruto novel also wrote the Gaara novel and in it he established that Suna elects Kages based on the Kazekage bloodline. I didn't make it up. He did. So if the Sand Sibs are foster kids like we found out with Shinki, that means that Shikadai is the only one running around with that bloodline and would be Gaara's heir. That was the whole point of the novel. That if Gaara and Kankuro didn't have kids that Temari's Konoha born children would be in line to be Kazekage.

Shinki can't be adopted because of the kekki genkai he needs to be either gaara kankuro or temari child

It wouldn't make sense for him not to be under temari care if he was

Kankuro in gaara's novel asked gaara to get married and have children because he wasn't gonna do it

As for resemblance dude the girl has blonde hair like his mom and how do u know what the mask guy looks like (he has same hair color as gaara's dad tho)

Shinki IS adopted since he called Gaara his foster father. So he is not his biological child. It is pretty clear in black and white. I reckon it is the same for the others. It is not shocking that Gaara wouldn't have kids of his own. He didn't care if Temari's children only had the Kazekage bloodline and were from Konoha. And it would be in his character to adopt children of his own and raise them as his own. Sort of like Jiraiya kind of did.

There was a character in the Gaara novel named Kajura that had the Iron Sand kekkei genkai and he was from a village between Suna and Iwa. So the notion that Shinki can only be from Gaara, Temari, or Kankuro due to a bloodline is already out the window.

Then why couldn't Kankuro be chosen? He has the same blood as his brother. Why can't Temari be elected?

Eh, this is what one of the translator said about the earlier chapter:

"[T/N]義父上 was given ちちうえ/Chichi-ue on the side in furigana= 'Father' in very polite terms. Even though the 義父 read first is 'step-father'+上 (ue, just an honorific)the furigana on the side seems to indicate that he's talking just really formally about his 'Father' and not 'Step-Father'. So I would pick 'Father' here over 'Step-Father'."

It's probably the same case here, and it's somewhat ambiguous.
