Not Naruto manga, but definitely Naruto anime English dub, because we heeeeavilly censored the blood and gore and swearing. So someone not knowing what Naruto is deciding to watch the English dub might believe it's for 10 year olds.

Part 1 was more gory and pervasive, very raw and uncensored in that regard compared to Part 2, which is weird considering they were children in part 1 and teenagers in part 2. It should have either switched or gotten more mature imo.

lmao I've noticed that as well, i'm sure kishi did as well which is probably he put extra effort in that obito killing mist nin and madara dismembering tsunade to kinda make up for that. likely it could be that by the time shippuden came out, there were tons of "friendly" naruto games so the anime/manga might've had to tone it down. samething happen with DBZ

Naw part 1 stuff whilst gory was intensely for kids. The characters are all obnoxiously immature and the shonen stereotyping is strongggg. Part 2 may rely more on glowing light powers but it includes themes such as Messiah peace-systems, genocide and political tensions. It's a more mature sequel, certainly.

It's a series that simply grew in maturity with it's audience, like Harry Potter, Avatar and Comics. That's awesome imo.

Avatar is fantastic but is on par with Marvel's best.

I was just listing franchises that have been around long enough and changed tone as their audience got darker. Harry Potter is the best example honestly but stuff like DBZ, Pokemon & One Piece don't do it.

I really think it and it's sequel are almost faultless. I don't even find the finale that rushed.

Marvel / DC have an unfair advantage of....60+ years on Naruto and Korra though. Obviously there's gonna be more approaches and development of the characters just bc they've had more exposure. ATLA is more perfectly paced and timeless whilst Korra is deeper, and a more entertaining watch for me personally.

Well, shonen is usually aimed at kid audiences. This type of stuff is more tolerated in Japan than in the west.
