You make it seem as if a marriage of convenience would be an unthinkable and unlikely event, which given that they live in a war-torn shinobi society is just.... odd.
Consider issues like; legacy/techniques/clan, to establish alliances and strength the blood line etc - you'd think it would be somewhat normal for the majority of marriages to not be a 'love match'.
Especially in established Clans.
In fact, the more I think on the more like choosing your own bride seems like a luxury ill afforded.
Think, Game of Thrones, if you will.

Just made a thread about this exact panel actually. I think you're misunderstanding it, there's a lot of respect and love there- it's just adult and realistic to how an actual adult man would show it.
Well, that's one way to attract all the zombie hunters on the beach.. Mix that with some gym time and all of them will come running with their rubber chainsaws and instagram cameras.

i see no problem with shikaku founding other women prettier than his wife actually. it's not like he's in love with tsunade. I had felt in love with some guys, but i know ian somehalder i hotter than them.

The beach? Ha - not unless it was private, then again the tattoo itself would be overcome by the glaring white of my untanned backside - being Scottish we don't get the weather for baring all, much at all, ever... at the beach.
