Ok it's true in the past he wasn't but on time when he fought pain he was way stronger than orochimaru.Orochimaru is the guy who was beaten by Sasuke but Jiraya is the guy who is even feard by Itachi uchiha

Jiraiya liked naruto apart from his father for his connection to Sasuke which was very similar to his own with Oro..

They were both too weak non prodigies who couldnt bring the best of em home or keep em from leaving.

Plus Jiraiya wasn't aiming to harm Naruto, and likely didn't use Sage Mode or anything besides taijutsu and a sealing tag.

Orochimaru has more sustainability, which is why he was able to survive against 4 Tailed Naruto for so long. But that doesn't mean he could harm him or stop him. Different skills for different situations.

Sage Mode Jiraiya defeats Orochimaru without ET, and Orochimaru has never shown the ability to use even an imperfect form of Sage Mode.

I like Jiraiya but no. First you compare Oro's defeat(to the eventual 2nd overall in the story) when he was sick and crippled, which wasn't even actually a physical battle it was all psychological, to Jiraiya fighting corpse puppets. Oro was the strongest Sannin with or without edo tensei. Oro with a healthy body ='s sage mode so Jiraiya's sage advantage goes as long as Oro has a sustainable body.

Oro <jiraiya whether nerfed without ET.. lol since he needs nerfing for jiraiya to contend based off the exclusion.
