I don't think the Ootsutsuki knew of chakra before Kaguya, since she was the first according to the Databook and even she ruled the land for a while before attempting to eat the Chakra Fruit, which was a last-ditch resort to end wars and conflict.

Well damn.... So.. Maybe in that case the elder ootsutsukis created/discovered chakra and didn't want it to be used by others? Cause if they didn't know about it before she ate it the shiki's somehow found out she ate it?

Hmm I also forgot about that fruit coming after the tree sucks the nutrients from the planet.... So it's also plausible that the ootsutsuki's are really nothing but a race of aliens that suck up the nutrients of planets to give themselves power

Yes and no, from what I understood the Otsutsuki are guardians that prevent people from eating the fruit but Momo disobeyed the rules by eating one so he could be strong enough to be Otsutsuki leader.

That would've led to Kaguya escaping to Earth to save herself and eating the chakra fruit in order to have the power to fight them, but it is likely they had some form of chakra to a very limited extent before eating the fruit.

If you think about it though.... Why? Why was it such a big deal that she left? If the fruits are in other planets other planets had the means to gain chakra no? So it's not just "we can't let this power fall into the wrong hands" kind of logic. Senseisama mentioned her being a princess, so it makes sense they would look for her, but the shiki's General attitudes in boruto don't really reflect them looking for their princess. It also makes you wonder why kaguya left to begin with. And if there's fruits on other planets then there's also shinju(sp?) trees. It's quite the interesting rabbit hole once you start thinking imo

We dont know anything about why she left so i cant give any logical clues , but i think its possible that her clan also had a head and side branch like the Hyuga along with Hamura's clan , so she probably left in order to run away from a system that she probably didn't agree with and went to gain enough power to change everything , since she was a princess its likely this system was ran by her Parents.

What if she had her own personal chakra amped body-guard like Momo did , who probably died protecting her when she escaped , so many possible scenario's.

Kaguya was initially regarded as a kind ruler before using Infinite Tsukuyomi to create an army. If you follow all the facts from the manga and Databook, it can only be assumed that Momoshiki and Kinshiki learned of chakra after witnessing her power, either coming to the planet or already being there with her. Kaguya must have realized their motive to take them over and started to create an army. Otherwise, the manga and movie contradict each other in that the prior assumes her reason in eating the Chakra Fruit was to stop war while the latter says she wanted to thwart an enemy.

This would actually work considering we know she was gathering an army. If momo disobeyed and ate one leading to her... "Defection" it would lend weight to just those 2 coming to get her... I like this theory

That's why I like this discussion, we've had so much vs and fanboy crap going on for the last few days, I wanted to discuss something that hasn't been fully told yet. Although I don't know if I agree with the hyuga style "branches" system. Although they are decendants so it's possible

Well Hamura's side of the clan also incorperated the branch system so why couldn't the original have somthing similar? also the relation between Momo and Kinshi seems way to similar to the system imo.

Kinshi seemed to fit that bird in a cage concept all too well.

That's actually a really good observation, despite his obvious power kinshi still had no qualms about obeying momo, we know at least that momo isn't mr/ms head honcho ootsutsuki so this leans me more towards them using the hyuga system

Oh, im not sure about that. She probably wanted to rule the earth, idk. Hopefully we get a backstort of some kind but i doubt it.

I think you are right, I like the idea that she arrived on Earth because it was her mission to collect the Earth fruit, she fell in love for the first time (Ootsutsuki eat each other, they don't know what love is), so she decided to stay on Earth, and when she felt huge Pain for the first time, she ate the fruit and became crazy.

If Kaguya was a princess, she must be the daughter of a king, a king rules over lots of people, implying that Kaguya comes from a populated planet, even if everyone is a Ootsutsuki there, they must be a lot to call Kaguya a princess.

The Ootsutsuki leader sends shinjus on planets and every thousand year, he sends some strong members of his army to harvest the fruits.
Kaguya got the privilege (she is a princess) to look after a big fruit of a big planet full of energy, unlike Momo and Kin who were restricted to little planets.I say that because Momo and Kin got beat by a fraction of the Earth fruit power (Naruto+Sasuke+Boruto), Earth fruit>>>>Momo and Kin's planet fruit, making Kaguya>>>>Momo and Kin.

But Kaguya didn't follow the leader's plan, she stayed on Earth because she fell in love, ate the fruit, became crazy and planned to use its powers for her future plans, create a new dimension.
Seing that Kaguya didn't come back, the king contacted Momo and Kin (they were on a planet next to Earth) to tell them to go look after Kaguya and the Earth fruit.

That would explain that Kaguya feared someone, as I hardly see Kaguya lose against Momo and Kin.She feared that the leader would have sent someone very strong to look after her, Momo and Kin being just harvest men of little planets, they may be weaker than other members.

That seems too complicated for kishi. My idea is a bit simpler but that's still interesting.

Well.... The kaguyas husband thread gave me a thought.. Kaguya was only strong cause of the fruit right? Same with hago. The shiki's looking for kaguya already had all this power... So.... How did they get it? Are most ootsutsuki's like kaguya before the fruit? Or is she a like a runt and the rest are like the shiki's? Am I missing something here?

Kaguya and the lot have the power to turn lifeforce into power.

Here we see Kinshiki giving up the remainder of his life to become a chakra fruit to which Momoshiki devours.

We also hear him say that his predecessor had done the same for him.

We also see that Kaguya eating the fruit (which is actually the tree).

I take it as more the "I eat weaklings like you for breakfast" kind of thing.

They eat people so they can grow stronger.
