To those that say we don't deserve it, well... wtv! Are gonna tell me Greece was the best team in Euro 2004? Yet we lost to them...twice. In fact, only defeats portugal had in that whole Euro was against Greece. And they won. They won because they played better than us against us and because they made it through the final.
Portugal had a rocky start but you cannot say we play shit or don't deserve to win. Thats just salty loosing talk. France didn't play very well against Portugal. Perhaps because the teams strategies didn't allow France to showcase better football and better results. But that just means the strategy, the game play, the player choice, all worked as intended. Its called "strategy" for a reason. And, unlike we can say about France's overall strategy, attitude, in and outside the field, Portugal didn't play dirty. Portugal didn't trash talk. Portugal just focused on the next game. And we won.
Since I was a kid, it has been the dream of seeing my country, one of the best in the world when it comes to players, coaches, etc, to finally have a title worthy of all the potencial we do have. We have always been the "potencial team". You know, that team that has the "potencial" to win. But we lose. We play good we lose. We play bad we lose. We go to penalties, we lose. It has always been like this in the past. But everyone aknowledges we have "potential to win". Finally, its not just potencial anymore.
