That's probably one of the reasons I usually don't relate to such MCs. I may like them, but it's obvious that they are supposed to be unusual in a way real-life humans aren't, and can't be. It's fantasy and it's supposed to be viewed as such, but then again there are fans who engage is escapism too much, to the point of claiming to be seriously in love with fictional characters and all that.

I've never really had any problems with separating fantasy from reality. I've never been gifted but hey, learning new things is actually interesting. Besides, in reality, any talent is worthless if you don't also work, anyway. Also, thankfully, real life doesn't rely on power levels and who can bust a bigger mountain (regular everyday life, I mean)

It not occurred in many manga/anime but Naruto I think is the worse with such element.

But most of it happen to chosen MC. Mean if your fav. not a MC, just accept it.

I have been an anime fan my whole life, I've watched pretty much every anime and read every known manga you can think of. Thinking back on it, there is something that has been bothering me alot. This is the message most if not all series send.

If you're a kid growing up with this stuff it's going to really tear on your self-esteem because believe it or not. We do take lessons from whatever we watch and this has to do with talent vs hard work. All shonen series have these special people who are better than other characters or stronger than another character even if that character works harder.

When the characters you have to look up to are ones who were basically handed their position/power/strength while the ones who truly deserve it get denied, it can have the terrible consequence of discouraging hard work in you and you don't know this as a kid.

From DBZ to Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, HxH, Fairy Tail, Yu Yu Hakusho, the list goes on.

I can no longer respect anyone or anything that sends this message: "No matter how hard you work it doesn't matter because X person is special."

You obviously haven't read all the manga I can think of...You have listed a particular genre aimed at teenagers/young adults. And now you have out grown it.

Anyway:

How hard you work it does matter- it will help your personal growth and skills but if you do not have an aptitude or talent for it you will not be able to beat the person who has a special talent for that and also works hard.

Only thing you can work for it is to give your personal best or find something you are more talented and special at and increase your chances of success.

My mind boggled at that part too "read every known manga you can think of."

I've watched/read mostly shonen/seinen series. I've seen one or two romance series but that's it. Action/Adventure is what I like the most but when I've seen most if not all known(keyword) series you can think of.

And that sucks too, I hate life for doing that, giving certain people talent and others the shoulder so to speak.
