I think it gets praise because of the build up towards it and the pay off that came at the end. That for me was the first arc in Naruto where I was on pins and needles every week to see what would happen next. When Pain finally invaded and killed Kakashi, I remember losing my mind over it.

The build up was pretty big. We finally saw what the Akatsuki leader could do and Jiraiya was previously killed. Major shit went down like the destruction of the leaf villaige and Kakashi's death plus the battles were good.

The power scaling was just in a whole different level. The spam of jutsus like rasengan and amaterasu began and the whole concept of being a "ninja" slowly faded. That's what basically killed my interest in the pain arc and after

Because Pain seemed unstoppable. Also, it was right after Jiraiya's death and so the audience wanted revenge.

So you think the Kaguya arc was good but the Pain arc wasn't that great?

Pain was awesome character, with an awesome design, powers, quotes, ideology, and strength, who destroyed the leaf in one hit. What wasn't to love?
Who said The pain arc was bad? Did i say that? I was curious about what is good in people's mind in this arc and why they love it. I love the arc i never said i didn't
It was not filler...xd

Only sasuke haters say this.

Why you say that?

I actually agree Pain arc was best.

The next arc introduced that destiny transmigration crap that ruined it for me.

I just woulda like Naruto/Sasuke to have their own issues instead of some ancient fued they have no control over.

Pain arc was awesome. Sage mode was awesome. Itachi vsSasuke was awesome.

Dont get me wrong ALL of the war arc isnt terrible. Kages returning, Madara, and Powerups were all good. Everything else wasnt to me.

When i say rate the arc not the anime version the source material

Well, then the only thing they really did wrong was reviving everyone in the end. That was a pretty asspull-ish move.

Because Pain was just badass and it took many sacrifices and risks to gather the intel needed for anyone to stand a chance against him. Also, despite the fact Nagato got seriously nerfed vs. Naruto, it showed the main character at a power more than worthy of Kage and capable of surprising the greatest ninja in the world at the time.
