That was a weird match. France clearly was superior and had more quality, but on the other hand you can't really say Romania stole their goal as at the beginning of the match and then again right after the break they had some great opportunities to make what should be a guaranteed goal. You can't say either of them was playing particularly well, but not particularly bad either despite the many faulty passes.
Weird match indeed. Payet's goal was awesome though. They were saying Pogba would be the star of the tournament, but currently Payet has taken a head start for that role. Not really sure what Pogba's intentions were, but he was being unnecessarily flashy and can be glad that somehow it just barely didn't end up in a catastrophe.

The moment Payet rushed toward penalty box I know he will blast the ball outside the box and score. Its like me predicting Marek Hamsik blasting Germany's goal from outside and it came true(friendly match). :lol
I dont know why people put higher expectation on Pogba or looking high on him.

Payet is in an amazing form,bossed it for West Ham how it seems he is bossing it for France as well.West Ham will have a tough work in making him stay next season especially if he shows his worth here as well.Pogba was decent but not as good as he could be hence whole France was little off today.Props to Payet and that goal since a draw would be a terrible result for France.
Romania was sloppy and rather unprofessional. A draw could've easily been secured but they clearly lack the international experience to properly manage the pressure of an opening match against a strong side like France. The stage was overwhelming. Our goalkeeper was losing his shit at the very beginning when he was barely able to contain that easy ball. Maybe he showed the same sloppiness when he failed to prevent that first goal. I'm not taking any credit from France, they deserved the win and that second goal was straight up savage, but cheering for the losing side I really wish it never happened, especially in '89.
Anyway, Romania is looking a lot better than in the group stage, hopefully we will manage Switzerland and Albania properly. The team looks more than capable of making it through with the right attitude and composure.

Next match will be Albania vs. Switzerland. Switzerland will probably win this one, never heard of Albania in a football-related way, to be honest. Can't say anything about Wales vs. Slovakia. But I'm very excited for the last match of today, England vs. Russia, that's the first "big one" of the tournament.

1:18 is probably my favourite, considering he scored it against one of the best goalkeepers in BPL (arguably the world?) and he makes it look so damn easy.
From what I gathered (from a set of tweets from an England fan), the English fans were attacked whilst by Ultras whilst watching the France vs Romania game. Because English fans have that ''hooligan'' stereotype, other groups probably find some kind of pleasure out of fighting/beating those considered so highly in that world.
