I don't think you understand. Reacting and dodging both are responses. Reacting is always seen as being faster because it depends on nerve impulses and dodging is seen as being slower because it depends on muscle reflexes. strangely enough nerve impulses don't travel near that speed also so how fast is Kirin

I figure it's use susanoo like Itachi did or be hurt lol

I get the difference between the two. Yes reacting is much faster because the brain needs to sense it and fire the neural impulses. Ay cannot dodge the attack because he doesn't move at Kirin's speed.

If a sick Itachi was able to react to Kirin, I'd reckon that Ay as well would be able to react but dodging Amaterasu cannot be compared to dodging the 1/3rd the speed of lightning. Sasuke dodged Amaterasu when he was moving around at the top of the Uchiha hideout.

The comparison isn't right. You should compare apples to apples not oranges.

Sasuke wasn't dodging Amaterasu though, Itachi's eye wasn't keeping track of him hence why the flame couldn't ignite on his brother. As long as the user's eye can keep track of the target then Amaterasu can't be avoided. But I agree, Ay would have dodge Kirin because his body is amplified by lightning and he's a fast as KCM Naruto.

It's not fired from the eye because it ignites at the same rate regardless of the target's distance. If it moved from point A to point B then the samurai would have been able to dodge the flame since he was further.

They're clearly not shot like laser beams because they ignite at any distance in an instant, they only appear where the eye looks similar to Kamui portals appearing where Kakashi looks.

If you noticed the flames appear in a spiral motion like a dimension portal

It's explained

That was my point. Amaterasu is like a gun being fired except instead of the bullet starting to travel from within the gun, it starts at the targets location and we know it's fired from the eye because if sasuke was aiming at Sakura's face for instance and we put an object 1mm away from his eye, that object would catch on fire instead of Sakura's face.

And that's not how dimensions work bro. A dimension or portal is a region where the gravitational forces are so strong they bend space and time and matter including light like this

Amaterasu isn't something that is summoned by the MS users, it's created with their chakra.

I disagree with this, the manga has made it clear Amaterasu isn't a nature affinity like Katon or Mokuton. It's more like like a reverse summoning but for dojutsu, it comes from another world and will appear wherever the user sets their eye on.

It's like you said, it doesn't go from point A to point B, instead it appears instantly at point B, it basically works like S/t

The thing is Ays reactions are faster than Itachi's. it means that in the time it took itachi to react to kirin Ay could have already reacted and moved. once the nerve impulses hit your muscles you will move. When a character cannot react in time it's because the time it takes for time to react to what ever the attack is greater than the time it would take the attack to affect them.

Sasuke didn't dodge amatearsu he was just not in itachi's line of sight when he first started running

Yin Release (陰遁, Inton, Viz: Dark Style or Shadow Style) techniques, based on the spiritual energy that governs imagination, can be used to create form out of nothingness.

Space time Ninjutsu can create portals in the fabric of space and time to get to a target. Minato can warp from the Hokage office to Kushina in the bedroom wearing lingerie without bumping into every house and tree and person and air particles between the hokage office and the bedroom. Amaterasu can't. That's the difference and thats why its not s/t ninjutsu

I don't necessarily believe it is, but at the same time, it seems illogical for Rikudou Sasuke's Amaterasu to be slower than Kirin.

As Necromancer clarified, Amaterasu's flames spawn on the target instantaneously, but the ignition of the flames occurs for a very short period afterwards. Kirin is arguably more effective in tagging your opponent though due to its larger range and the fact that sensors are at a massive disadvantage as Kirin isn't composed of chakra, so their extra perception obtained through sensing chakra will be useless here.

I agree with that part. Necro is a smart dude. What i don't get is the bold. If the flames do not travel to the target why is it they have 0 effect once they spawn the target and time has to pass by for it to make an effect

It's the most logical assumption because if the flames spawn on a target in an instant yet ignites at the same time, then Raikage wouldn't have been able to evade it even after it converged with his body. It makes sense that the flames ignite a short period of time after the flames spawned.

Ay, both him and Sasuke, dodged Amaterasu with speed. We saw how fast Ay was when he fought Sasuke, and we saw how Sasuke was running away from Itachi's sight until he eventually got caught and used substitution. While Kirin can't be dodged, Itachi only tanked it thanks to Susanoo, and we know how much people in NV have access to it. So it's pretty much deadly for anyone else besides some of the Uchiha.

@ Bold, ok I agree with this. Sasuke was moving the same instance it was cast and the backlash of Tsukuyomi caused Itachi not to follow Sasuke's movements accurately which is why Sasuke got away.

As long as the user's eye can keep track of the target then Amaterasu can't be avoided. But I agree, Ay would have dodge Kirin because his body is amplified by lightning and he's a fast as KCM Naruto.

@ 2nd bold, nah man substitution jutsu is enough to avoid Amaterasu. Sasuke used it to slip through the cracks and Bee pulled it off through a tentacle substitution. Even if the user keeps track of the user Amaterasu can still be avoided.

Hold up I thought KCM Naruto was faster than Ay, when Ay speed blitzed him with his lightning armor he completely dodged it. Ay cannot dodge Kirin, only merely react to it which is enough because he can tank it with his armor.

Reaction time is not equal to speed though. Amaterasu doesn't even move at the speed of Kirin, to be fair Amaterasu spawns and hits a user whereas light travels. Ay could have only done something to defend from the area, he doesn't move nearly at the speed of lightning to dodge it either wise Suigetsu would have never been able to block his attack. His brain cannot proccess the stimuli hat quickly hence it won't enable him to dodge it just simply react to it.

Sasuke didn't dodge amatearsu he was just not in itachi's line of sight when he first started running

Ok this makes sense, Itachi faced a backlash from Tsukuyomi and had eye strain which is why he couldn't get him in sight until later.

That's false. Sasuke never dodged Amaterasu with his speed. He simply maneuvered around Itachi's LoS. The flames spawning locations depended on where Itachi's eyes were focused on at the time, so Itachi's LoS had to catch up to Sasuke in order to spawn flames directly at him. If Itachi LoS could track him, then he wouldn't have been able to escape the flames.

Unless he moved before the flames made physical contact because if they did they they would have moved with him which is what the manga happenes to show

Amaterasu isn't created from imagination because Uchiha don't have the Sage's Yin feats unless they have his chakra. The flames aren't created by the user's chakra like nature elements, they come from the same world as the King of Hell.

BZ called Amaterasu "an unholy flame".

Coincidentally, the term "unholy" is used to reference something that is the opposite of divine i.e : demonic/from hell. And we've seen that the King of Hell is surrounded by black flames in the manga.

Amaterasu is basically a flame summoned from the same world King of Hell resides in hence why it's considered unholy, it would therefore be a type of S/t feat similar to reverse summoning.

No, they directly at him, but he evaded the flames before they ignited on his body.

Amaterasu's flames instantly spawn on the target, so if it hadn't reached Raikage yet, then it didn't spawn on Raikage and had to travel towards him despite the fact that Sasuke's LoS was focused on Raikage.
