And if Madara wanted to falsify his death, then there are better ways of doing so rather than actually dying and then triggering Izanagi and lose one eye in the process just to obtain Hashi cells without having a guarantee that it'd actually work and awaken the rinnegan for sure.
So your reasoning does not fit right and black zetsu who watched the entire battle himself claimed that Madara lost and izanagi was just a failsafe. Madara intended to defeat and kill Hashirama and take his body for his goals but had to fall back to taking only a part of him and sacrifice one eye just to survive.

Buddha Statue failed to hurt Madara and by the end of the fight Hashi was out of chakra so that argument is moot. Hashi had no knowledge of Izanagi and therefore Madara could have killed him after using it.

You're he one who said Hashi could crush Madara with one thousand arm, and I countered that argument by pointing out the jutsu failed against Madara.

Madara still had half of his Susanoo intact and Hashi was out of arms to use, therefore his strongest jutsu failed. Why ? Because their power is equal
