For a Character that is supposed to be as smart as Minato he sure was a complete idiot. What I am talking about is
the night he died and sealed the Kyubi is Naruto. If you actually think about what he did it makes absolutely no sense
and should have gotten them all killed. First of all he did not have to die. Either he could have let Kushina who was
going to die anyway drag the Kyubi with her to her death or seal the whole thing inside of Naruto. Instead he chooses to
use the reaper death seal to kill himself to split it in half and seal one half in Naruto. The stupid thing is that him
unnecessarily killing himself completely ignored the greatest threat which was the masked man. As far as he knows at
the time while he defeated the mask man in battle, the masked man still escaped and was still out there as a threat.
He knows the masked man has a a powerful space time jutsu that only he can counter and even marked him which
means he should be able to easily track him down no matter where he hid. So what does Minato do? He pointlessly
kills himself without so much as even telling anyone about the masked man being a threat out there who caused the
Kyubi attack. So the manga tries to justify what he did by saying he sealed the half of the Kyubi in Naruto to
eventually defeat the masked man. Do you know how dumb this is. Even under the best of circumstances that means
it would take over a decade for Naruto to grow up to potentially compete with the masked man. What the hell was
there to stop him from immediately attacking the village again and kidnapping Naruto before he grows up? The
answer is nothing but dumb plot. If he had lived he could have used the mark to track the masked man down and
defeated him once and for all which would have stopped the Akatski just when they were getting started. Think of all
the other things that could have been prevented if Minato had at least told the villages the masked man who he
suspected was Madara caused the Kyubi attack? They would have at least tried to prepare against him and would not
have blamed the rest of the Uchiha clan which was one of the main causes that led to them attempting the coupt. All
in all I think Kishi just did a horrible job trying to justify Minato's actions that night when you actually look into it
closely.
