Some details about the Apocalypse movie had me scratching my head over the timeline, but I think I have a grasp on it now. In order of time taken place in the Marvel universe:
1. First Class
2. Days of Future past (past portion)
3. Xmen Origins: Wolverine
4. Apocalypse
5. X1
6. X2
7. X3
8. The Wolverine
9. Days of Future past (future portion)
Justification:
Apocalypse must have come AFTER Origins because Wolverine had already undergone his adamantium enhancements before the start of Apocalypse. However, this posses the problem of how Stryker re-captured Wolverine after Future Past, when it seemed Mystique was able to rescue him disguised as Stryker at the end of that recent movie. In addition, Cyclops had already unlocked his power in Origins, yet at the start of Apocalypse he hadn't done that yet.
Those details aside, the only inconsistencies are the ages of the actors that played the various characters. The Stryker actor in the recent trilogy is much younger than the Stryker from Origins, which makes a difference in this 3rd episode of the trilogy. Also, an older version of Professor X met the young mutants as the escaped the island in Origins, yet the actor in Apocalypse is much younger, in addition to not having lost his hair yet. I could also mention the diamond skin girl in Origins is very young while she is much older in First Class.... it should clearly be the opposite.
The age of actors is a pretty big discrepancy but I think the major concepts and plotlines are held intact. I don't much mind it, but I try to make sense of such details and I have to try hard not to use ages of actors to decipher such timelines but rather base it on measureable events.
Anyway, I liked the film and was mostly curious if my timeline is in order. If it is not, or you have other comments on the timeline in general, lease don't hesitate to mention it. Thanks for reading.
