Sand release in rp is to me is gather from the hardest material you can you found but with gaara his sand always have been protect it him you can sand in many different ways you can creates weponds out of sand you can use it as mostly long range to mid range or even short but with gaara he controls his sand with his hand gestures and hand movement and I love defence ability

Sand

Weak to: Water; as shown in the filler arc, Gaara's sand becomes near impossible for him to manipulate when soaked up with water. Lightning also seems to be very effective against it since Sasuke's chidori managed to pierce Gaara's ultimate defense.

Strong to: Earth and Fire. It has been shown that Sand has a high tolerance to Fire and that i can also be used to grind earth or to become dense enough to compete with even the hardest rocks.

I Use my sand just to trap my enemy and force them into a corner and yes
You need to be more creative than that my friend. Sand isn't just trapping them, nor is it that simple to do so.

Sand has many benefits.

1. First of all, being Gaara it was originally considered to be the ultimate defense. You have sand always on your back to defend you reacting on it's own. For the most part that's a huge benefit. It's strong to earth and fire so stuff like earth spikes can never hurt you, neutral to wind, it's just all around pretty damn good.

2. Secondly, unlike most elements you always have a source. You always have a gourd on your back which can be controlled with hand gestures, along with the above of defense can be very useful for offense. Not only this but you can break down any source of earth to become sand increasing your overall offensive ten fold. If there is earth you can use this element. A huge advantage, it's strong to earth and fire so it limits their defenses.

3. Combination attacks. I'm sure you've seen the anime by now or read the manga where Sand has been used with other jutsu to make it more effective. The Tsuchikage made it lightning for Gaara to make it so he could control it faster. If i was you i'd create a giant wave of sand then make it 100x heavier to crush them.

4. All around attacks. You can use your element to create sand below them to attack or trap. Be it sand hands, quicksand, bullets of sand. If you attack from below, they have to defend as it's harder to send an attack like that back at you.

5. Evasion. Sand allows you to create sand clouds to float to avoid jutsu on the ground, move around to avoid stuff, but the best thing is you can turn you body to sand to cover large distances to avoid large scale attacks.

I knew it was some like that I barley uses my gaara how I really want to it because of my crappy phone I been trying coming up with justu to make my sand light so can move faster but I am getting hang of what y'all telling me to do is use my sand more efficient then I already do I already been using most of the just us I want to know how to surpass others sand users on this base I want to be the very best sand user on this base

You may utilize these Earth Technique to lighten your sand, just like how the Tsuchikage Onoki did in the Manga.

(Doton: Keijūgan no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Light Weight Rock Technique

Range: Short
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: N/A (up to -20 if used to boost speed of a physical attack)
Description: Contrary to its counterpart (the Earth Release: Added-Weight Rock Technique), instead of making the target heavier, this technique makes it much lighter, though still using the same principle and mechanics. The user will make direct contact with the given target (through his hands), infusing them with earth chakra and lowering their weight drastically. The technique can lower a targets weight up to 10 times less than it originally had. This allows freer manipulation of the affected objects, which would normally carry considerably more weight and as such, require a greater amount of exertion to move. The technique can be used on the user or other shinobi to increase their speed, but as a consequence of using it this way, it results in the decrease of the physical force of their blows. The same principle applies if used on a physical attack wich will be faster but will carry less momentum and as such, less physical damage. It doesn't change the "strength" of binding techniques (like Sand Release), where the user is manipulating a dynamic element but will decrease the impact damage of techniques that rely on it.
Note: The initial effects last for 2 turns or until countered.

Description: A more advanced version of the Earth Release: Light-Weight Rock Technique, in which the user drastically decreases the weight of any object in direct physical contact, but to a much greater extent than that of the original ability. The technique can decrease the weight of the target to virtually zero but the bigger the target, the more time is needed.
Note: The weight change lasts 2 turns or until countered.

I know you do buddy and i'm going to help you. From here i'm going to tell you how to make your sand quicker, how you make it stronger, what you can combine it with to make stronger combos and how to beat your own weaknesses :)

So first of all you want to make the sand fasts. So first of all got to:

(Doton: Kajūgan no Jutsu): Earth Style: Added Weight Rock Technique
Rank: A
Type: Offensive/Defensive
Range: short
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: N/A (up to +20 if used to add damage)
Description: The user will perform the Snake handseal and touch a given target (he needs to use his hands in most cases but can release the technique through his whole body if needed) for a small time frame. Upon doing so, he'll use the earth chakra to increase the weight of the target drastically. The technique can increase the targets weight up to 10 times. One interesting side effect of the technique is that when its used on wood based techniques (such as Zetsu's spore clones or normal wood), the infusion of large amounts of earth chakra into it will actually petrify the target in addition to increasing its weight. A similar effect can be achieved in other earthen materials such as mud. The user can also add weight to a given attack (if feasible) to increase both momentum and impact force, effectively adding damage to it.

This is where you have to be a bit smarter with how you use your jutsu my friend.

So first of all we take a look at the sand jutsu you can use to go on the offensive:

( Kyosei Suna no Jutsu ) - Greater Sand Technique
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary/Attack/Defense
Range: Short-Long
Chakra cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: Gaara will manipulate sand from either his gourd or call it forth from the ground, using hand gestures to control it as he shapes it and uses it to his needs. He can use it to restrain enemies, defend from incoming techniques, produce simple constructs of sand (which lose their shape if control is released), sand waves, etc. If he uses the sand from his gourd, the technique is both faster and stronger, gaining a rank in strength.


This is the best jutsu you have that you can use. It's a cannon jutsu so there is no restrictions on it, basically you can do what you want with your sand as long as you say you keep controlling it. From the wording you could make a puppy of sand that you control with hand gestures but you have to maintain control of it.

So for me, if you really wanted to counter lightning and use sand at the same time, after you use a lightning jutsu follow up with wind. So say you use the above jutsu. And you cause sand in the ground to rise up and send it at your opponent in a wave. That's your main attack. But your opponent would just try to use lightning.

So after you use a lightning jutsu follow up with a wind jutsu. The wind will carry the sand forwards so you don't have to keep control of it. When you do this think of this:

Sand's weakness = lightning/water - the wind you release would counter the lightning and make the attack neutral to water

Wind's weakness = fire - The sand you releases is strong to fire so together it makes such a strong combo.

Pop, The Pervy Sage has described the various uses of Sand to you. Therefore, I'll present a battle scenario to you.

As you already know, Sand is weak to Water.

Now, there are certain restrictions for this particular scenario. You may only utilize one technique, and it has to be a Sand technique. You must also try to use as little chakra as possible.

So, tell me what technique would you use and why if your opponent used this against you.

(Suiton: Suidanha) Water Release: Severing Wave
Type: Offensive
Rank: S-rank
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 40
Damage: 80
Description:
After doing the Tiger hand seal, the user will quickly exhale a very thin stream of pressurized water that will be able to cut even rock. The most noteworthy feature of the technique is how fast the stream is and how sharp it can be. By moving his head, the user can alter the jet's cutting path, creating longer cuts or affecting bigger targets.

Excuse my double post. Anyways, here is an example of how you can combine Sand with Wind.

First you can create a wave of Sand, and direct it at the enemy. But to substantially negate the possibility of the opponent using Lightning to counter it; you can quickly follow up with a burst of Wind.

For example, you could use these two techniques in quick succession

(Sabaku Ryuusa Bakuryuu) - Sand Avalanche

Description: Gaara turns his own body into sand, or simply parts of it. While in sand form, he can cross long distances by soaring as a sandstorm. In this form he is also invulnerable to attacks. However he is unable to attack during this form.
Note: Transformation lasts a maximum of one turn.

Excellent choice. However you must keep two things in mind

1. Sand Body Technique has a restriction which states that you cannot attack in this mode. So while yes, you'll be able to evade the Water technique, you won't be able to use Wind to attack the Water.

2. The RP follows a system called timeframe that goes like this

-Your technique
-My technique
-Your technique
-My technique

There are certain circumstances when the timeframe can be broken but this isnt one. So, even if you could attack while in Sand Body mode, it would be against the Timeframe for you to use Wind against the Water. For example, for this scenario, the timeframe would be this

-Water Jet
-Body of Sand
-Opponents 2nd technique
-Your 2nd technique

We can go full in-depth on Timeframe later but at the moment, the topic is Sand Release.

Right on I pay a huge cost by during sand body I may evade the justu but the whole area is soaked in water what I do about that
