Probably a filler villain to extend the anime so they don't catch up to the boruto manga to fast. The boruto manga is monthly so they have to stall more and what better way then have this guy show up to scout out earth before momoshiki and kinshiki arrive this can be who sasuke fights during the last which I think the anime will cover again.

What else is there to talk about? The most recent new canon material we got was 3 or 4 panels early in the month (and unless the Boruto manga gives us tiny snips of the future at the beginning of each chapter , then we probably won't be getting new canon content any time soon).

Honestly , this is Naruto discussion. Filler or not , it still pertains to Naruto. Therefore discussing it in a thread like this is perfectly welcome here. You are neither required to participate in the thread or watch the filler. Therefore if anyone here was in a right or wrong , it would be you in the wrong for complaining and telling people to stop talking about Naruto filler in a section meant for discussion about anything pertaining to Naruto, rather than the OP or anyone else being in the wrong.

Sorry to sound so rude or combative. I just don't understand those who just worship Kishi's pen or those who just seem to have a seething hatred for discussion pertaining to filler. It's just kind of annoying being told by Kishi worshippers what content we can and can't take an interest in or discuss.
