if avoiding eye contact, wouldn't that be the perfect time to use amaterasu?

avoiding eye contact is the best way to avoid gen. guy sensei even went as far to look down at their feet. but what if itachi/sasuke took advantage of that with amaterasu, then what? if they can't sense, you're screwed and even if you can sense it, would they be able to properly respond to it without looking at it?

in itachi's case, you can't look at his eyes or finger.
his legs would be the best option. but that limits the chance of countering amaterasu even further. lol

the beauty of uchiha dojutsu is that most of it requires absolutely no physical movement.

Closing your eyes gives you a big disadvantage in battle period. If you shut down one of your senses how tf are you going to be able to fight Itachi who can cast genjutsu from any body part as he showed the ability to do so with his finger.

It is a severe impairment which is why the Tsukuyomi is the most OP gen and Amaterasu is the perfect chance to one shot the user at that point. Idc what anyone else says.

agreed. Tho the only visual cue for amaterasu is the bleeding from his eyes and it doesn't necessarily happen. Even then not a lot of shinobis can do anything about amaterasu spawning on their bodies

Gai at least should be fine, given that he's very fast and is a taijutsu god, and sensors like users of Sage Mode wouldn't have a problem either way (because Amaterasu can be sensed before it is cast; it is not instantaneous). But yeah, Sasuke and Itachi neg most people by default because of this.

lol true. the combo is amazing. kinda reminds me when sasuke caught danzo in genjutsu, instead of trying to close in with his sword, he should've just shot his amaterasu, even if danzo used izanagi, it would've been 1 less izanagi to deal with. lol

yeah, i noticed (anime atleast) that the bleeding effect to the initial release of amaterasu is inconsistent. some scenes it the blood drips all the way down then the flames are released and in some cases it's almost simultaneously.

why guy? what's the point of speed if you can't see/sense amaterasu coming when doing his anti-uchiha strategy?
Well of course, it's why it's impossible to fight an MS user 1v1 unless you have the power to counter Sharingan abilities.
lmao ikr. it's amazing how far kishi went to make sure certain characters can handle 1v1 against uchiha's.

Amaterasu needs to be able to focus on somebody, and Gai's movements can reach levels that would probably be difficult for Amaterasu-users to track. It's less about Gai being able to see it coming, and more about how vulnerable to it he actually is.

oh, you mean when guy is already moving. yeah, i can see him being able to avoid it then. but what's to stop itachi from just standing perfectly still for a few moments(like he usually does) while guy is focused on the sharingan user's feet(like he usually does) then bam itachi just throws his flames at guy? sensing makes up for seeing, guy can't use both in this situation to counter amat. am i wrong?

Lmao funny thing is Tobi called it a weak genjutsu to trap Danzo and he exactly fell for it thanks to Sasuke's intellect on how to make him fall for it and this is after he broke Koto pretty easily and negged Shisui.

Bruh, the reason I don't like the use of Amaterasu in fights too much is because it ends the fight to quickly. The distance between the two fighters is easily closed and there is no variety of skills. No matter what he did Amaterasu or come at him to pierce him with the sword it was the genjutsu that won the battle for Sauce.

I see why you brought up this fight but in Sasuke's case he was at the disadvantage because of Izanagi but he managed to turn it around unlike Itachi who had the advantage from the get go.

If Itachi isn't moving, I don't see why Gai wouldn't be attacking, is the thing. The problem is that this kind of fight never actually played out.

Avoiding direct eye contact yes but not looking at somebody's face it's different I can look at your forehead and not make direct eye contact

For sakura's big ass forehead i suppose would work but i think being in a heated battle while focused on something so close to eyes is extremely difficult and depending on the range, even if you stare at the forehead you can still see the eyes. Lol

Are you implying that guy would just blitz straight into itachi and successfully kill him in one shot without 8gates, looking at his eyes and finger before itachi counters with amaterasu or any jutsu for that matter?
