Scrabble would be just below RP here in terms of entertainment for me by the sounds of it. It's easier to imagine with physical things in front of you. Without the dice and luck aspect I don't see how there could be much competition. I imagine it turns out to be pokemon. Water > fire and that sort of stuff.

Lmao no need to lashout. Did I say NDS is glamarous? It's comedic cancer and fapping most of the time. Discussions don't sound as cringey as playing ninja by text. About the superiority thing, you're right. No need for the pride anyone is feeling. Pot calling the kettle black? No. We've all reached a tiny lvl of nerdyness from signing up to a forum but there are different lvls of weeaboo. Some part of RP don't look bad. There was a joke thread about macdonalds and that was good.

All gonna look the same to people on the outside? Not at all. I'm on the inside and I still think some RP is more cringey than just messing about in NDS or general discussion (which is where I mainly go now.) Which is definitely he least weeabooish and cringey sub-forum as it acts as a kind if international news channel and morale compass changing place. I'd never get some of the news otherwise.

Once again. Fighting on NDS is pointless. Especially with the bias lvls. Therefore I us it to joke around with other members, make references, rao battles, general banter, memes, predictions etc

Even if you did mainly argue. You're just discussing an interest, not pretending you're in the universe. People discuss programmes like GoT, House of Cards & BB all the time. There's different lvls you can immerse yourself as a fan though. From talking about it to dressing up and going to conventions and so on. Not everyone watched Naruto for "the boy and his dreams" btw and if you were to describe it to someone who wasn't familiar with it. That's not what you'd tell them. You'd say it's about ninja blah blah blah. Naruto as a character is stupid and boring for the most part imo.

Could say the same about DnD, there are games like Dark Souls and the Witcher. Why even DnD? Because there are several different ways to do things. I play WoW and a dozen or so Steam games on top of rp'ing on NB. It's not like it's the only thing that can be done. When it all comes down it, I do what I do for the same reason you do what you do. To kill time when bored.

I'm not lashing out, xD you're taking it as me saying something is better when I'm not. I'm simply saying it's the same to someone looking at this site who isn't a part of it which it is.

I'm saying you're wrong about the last bit. A random person would find certain sub-forums sadder/cringier than others. First would be the RP and then NDS probably. General discussion, art & movie sectioms are completely normal on the other hand. Certain people think it's sad/childish to just watch any animated cartoons *shrug* ...and then they go watch spongebob/disney movies lel

Why can't you compare them? They have similar aspects, The Witcher is an action role-playing game. The whole world of the Witcher is just a world created by someone's imagination, no different then a world created by a DM. It's even based on a book series, so the whole game is just a representation of a world that showed up in written word on paper beforehand. Maybe Final Fantasy would be more apt for the comparison since it's a turn based rpg. Either way they're all still just games where you play a character make decisions where your actions will have consequences, be it getting the bad ending for Ciri, or doing something stupid in a DnD campaign and losing your charc. All I'm getting from the opening reply is "apples to oranges" and I'm thinking why can't fruit be compared? The problem so far has just been you're not familiar with RPGs outside of just videogames so you're not getting the comparisons I'm making.

That was Penguin that insinuated you were immature. I never said you seemed anymore immature then we all might seem for being on this site from the point of view of someone who doesn't participate in it. If we're talking about a random person who stumbles across the forum with the mindset of watching anime and reading manga is weird, they're most likely just going to lump everyone together into a generalized group of people who read manga or watch anime and because of that they're weird. They're not going to go through each section and decide some people are normal comparatively.

You brought up the point of someone looking in from the outside who believes anime and manga is cringey. Well they're going to think anyone who uses the site is cringey, if that's their mind set. No matter if they're in the NDS or the RP section or the General Discussion Section. They aren't going to take time to differentiate the users as I said like three times already. You have this whole mentality that you're better than the next person when you use the same site xD like people who don't use this site are watching what you post and making silent decisions about you.

As I stated no one does this outside (meaning the rp'ers on the site), just like you're not walking up to someone and arguing about a fictitious character or spouting the same kind of stuff that you post in NDS. You're still playing it up to proportions that are insane, like you've been trying to the entire time.

Video games and role-play follow the same concept. You take on an avatar to do things you can't do irl for entertainment. The only difference is RP is text-based while the games are video based. You can point out all the differences you want, but at the core, they're the same concept.
