Boruto the novel said he knew 3 change in chakra natures before he took the exams and got the devices to use jutsu. I think That shows how far ahead he is for his age, especially compared to Naruto and Sasuke at that point.

I think people are a little bit over dramatic about the scene. I mean let's list the fact first: Sasuke said that Boruto had the potential to surpass Naruto.

From that understanding, it makes sense why he would probably be the only one fighting this guy Kawaki who supposedly destroyed the Village. It's similar to the Pain Arc. Naruto coming in after some training and finding out that the Village was destroyed.

However that parallel is minuscule, considering the situations. Still that doesn't mean he's the only character getting development, or is the entire focus of the Manga. Evil said that Boruto seems to be reminiscing about his childhood, hence the Movie recap.

I honestly found this uplifting. It means the manga is maybe not going to be as happy-go-lucky as it seemed? Bring the bloodbaths back.

At the very least, thank god timeskips are going to happen and are going to be foreshadowed immediately.

I wonder how long it'll take to get to this Shipppuden Era if the spoilers are true. If we're barely getting to 1/3 of the move in one chapter it'll probably be a while before we get there. I really want this manga to end as soon as possible. I don't see this manga ever living up to the original Naruto. Even though I wanted more they really should have let it end when they had the chance.

Also somehow it actually makes sense for Naruto to die. As sad as that sounds :lol he can't be Hokage forever. Both Konohamaru and Sarada need to take his place at some point.

To me the idea of the Main Character not be a forgiving, fan girling little ***** at times, already caught my attention.

Bolt from the previews seems like he went through something, in comparison to his kid self. So if they seem to be fixing some of Kishimoto's past mistakes, then other things are bound to be different in a good way. I hope.
