Ok, who went and saw the last Airbender movie? I was pissed! They messed up names, words, story lines and all that! i mean, i can understand changing the story since they need to keep it short enough for a movie. But the word fails XP Oh god that sucked, i laughed everytime they screwed up names and words. Here are the ones i remember they messed up:

Aang
Sokka
Iroh
Ag ni ki (probly mispelled XP)
AVATAR

Oi if they are going to make a movie, at least get the names right! Now im scared for the next movie, they are going to mispronounce things like Toph XP

I was soooooo pissed when I saw that. I saw it in 3D. There was nothing 3D about that movie. Wearing those glasses was pointless. The only person in that movie that looked like the cartoon character was Princess Yue. Well, the kid that played Aang looked kind of like him. Why was everyone in it Middle-Eastern???? Did they cast the movie at the local Quickie-Mart???? There was so much ridiculous posing and kata. They destroyed that story worse than the Harry Potter books. I hope M. Night Shyamalan dies before he can destroy Book 2.
Watching crap like that makes me hope they never make a live-action Naruto. They would only destroy it.

Dang, i hope they don't make a Naruto live action, and if they do, i hope they do it like the Death Note live action movies. They got mostly everything correct and they even filmed it in Japan. They just had they English Dubbing voice tape over it XD But anyways, lol

lets not forgot the bad acting, extreamly laughable dialog (some of the stuff they said really made me laugh in the middle of the theater) and the story was jumping all over the place... :|

The special effects looked so cool in the trailers, but they looked like crap in the movie. 2 minutes of some ridiculous kata and a little fart of air at the enemy. hehe

The movie was crap. The directing was absolute crap. The acting was atrocious. The plot was...well, there was none. They didn't even mention Sozin's Comet till the very end, and they said it would arrive in 3 years and give firebenders the power to create fire from nothing (which they should already be able to shoot from their fists and feet and whatever =/) Throughout watching the movie, I wanted someone to die because there was absolutely no character development, I didn't feel for them at all, and they did nothing more than piss me off.

Good thing I watched it bootleg at a reasonable price >.>'

After reading the reviews (which said that the movie makes Dragonball: Evolution look like a masterpiece), I had a small glimmer of hope that perhaps the reviewers were wrong and that the average moviegoer could still find entertainment in this film. I was really hoping it would be good.

But alas, it was not meant to be -.-

I actually HOPE that they make a second one, so that they can IMPROVE on everything that they apparently F***ED up. I mean, it doesn't seem like it's possible that they could make a worse film by trying to make a sequel...

What about Spiderman 2? O_O Or Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back? Or The Dark Knight? All of the James Bond movies that have come out since the first one? The Godfather Part 2? Terminator 2? Die Hard 2? Back to the Future 2? LoTR 2 and 3? Toy Story 2 and 3?

What about all of those sequels? O_O

I mean, The Dark Knight was (before Avatar came out) the 2nd highest grossing movie of ALL time. And it was awesome. O_O

with any rule there are exceptions, but the list of squeals that are worse than the original is far bigger >.>
(not to mention much more obscure cuz everyone forgets about bad movies in a year or so)

Lol, there are exceptions to a rule that supposedly states that "the sequels are always worse"? xd Doesn't that contradict the rule's definition?

Anyway, movie sequels are usually bad if the original movie was only "ok" to start with. Those "ok" movies don't even deserve sequels. The sequels are just created to make juice out as much money out of the movie franchise as possible. They're not trying to improve on the original movie - they're just trying to make money.

However, when the original movie is good, the sequel will usually be at least "ok", if not as good or better than the original, as shown by my list of good movie sequels. This is because the people who are making the sequel did a good job on the original, so they know what they're doing. They know how to make a "good" movie, so they make an at least "ok" sequel.

But when you make a sequel to a high budget absolute fail of a movie like Avatar... Well, I don't know. My reasoning is that it's not physically possible for the sequel to be worse. If they hope to make ANY money on the would-be "The Last Airbender" movie series, or even if they hope to just break even, they would NEED to make the sequel better. And, the way I see it, there's nowhere to go but up.

well i think it was made quite apparent in the first movie that the producers just dont care... i mean u cant make a movie that bad by accident, the script was probaly throwen together in a week the actors throughout the whole movie appeared to just be waiting for their paycheck at the end. so yea, i say the sequels will be equal (if not worse) because its obviously these movies are being made only for a quick buck...

They let Shyamalan write the script. He cut out all of the good stuff from the series and replaced it with crap. xd
And then they added in horrible actors... Not a good combination :p

How could you say "u cant make a movie that bad by accident"? Are you implying that they made the movie bad on PURPOSE?

Lol, if this movie was made for a quick buck, why did it have a $150 million budget (and an EXTRA $130 million on advertising, so $280 million total) and why was it directed by a supposedly competent director? Shyamalan said that he wanted this triology to be "the new Star Wars" for a new generation. They definitely wanted more than a quick buck.

But they put too much responsibility in the hands of Shyamalan. And they hired crappy actors to act out Shyamalan's even crappier dialogue. I don't know who did the casting, but they did screw up. However, Shyamalan might have shown the casting director his crappy script and said "Go, find actors who are like the characters in my script." So, to the casting director, crappy dialogue = crappy actors.

I still maintain my position: there's no way that a sequel could be worse. There are SO many things wrong with this movie, and SO many disappointed people that, if they were to make a sequel, then it would be absolutely impossible for them to make it worse than this first film.

lol im implying they didnt put effort into it >.> as opposed to trying to make the movie good but turning out bad.

and obviously a popular series such as avatar will ultimatly get a big budget which the seemed to only spend on tryin to make good CGI . obviously this movie was ment to make alot of money getting every 10 year old who watched the show to beg their parents to go see the movie because they wont reconize how bad it is >.>

and i have not seen the original Avatar the last airbender cartoon so i have no imput on Shyamalan's abilities other than i heard the cartoon was good, and if sequals have already been planned they will likely suffer from the same problems because if the movies are already planned all the actors have more than likely been signed on for the rest of the sequels too meaning more bad dialog and bad acting. though hey maybe they will have a plot next time :D

well i guess ultimatly we will just have to wait for the next movie, maybe things will turn around (but i doubt it)
