I actually agree with minamoto xD

Plus, as far as the manga goes, Itachi telling Sasuke that he needed to kill his best friend in order to defeat Itachi is basically 90% of the reason why Sasuke didn't learn the Will of Fire

Good job Itachi

Uhm, Itachi always was a terrorist. He did think that the outcome justifies the means, that's it.
Also, he requested Sasuke to murder his best friend in order to get the Mangekyou Sharingan, which is not something a good person should do.

This^^^ Itachi played the villian tooo well lol

The reason he made that remark was explained:

Him saying that was a method of making sure Sasuke would be more motivated to target him as when he left, Sasuke didn't have anyone close to him bar him.

I don't think he thought that Sasuke would fool around making new connections when his family had been supposedly murdered for no reason with the criminal still out there... he misjudged his brother.

Nope, he was just a mass-murderer with mental issues...

You said the truth.
+Rep for exposing terrorist fans (Itachi fans :sdo:)

Itachi fans will defend this.

They can defend it quite easily as between Itachi's decisions (die with clan and let others die or kill clan yourself while letting them be avenged)- he evidently chose the sane option.

ot: Terrorism is usually roughly defined as the use of violence or intimidation to further political and/or religious aims. Itachi didn't attack them to gain power, gain a higher position, or due to some misguided notion. He did it when they were going to attack the village and refused negotiation. "Terrorists" would be more in line with the Police Force which doomed their clan to such a fate.

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

It's a matter of perception...

Besides, the inherent fear/terror that came along with the Uchiha Massacre and that befell Itachi's reputation was a by-product of his actions - it wasn't, y'know... his main goal.

Thank you.
In my opinion, it still was an unnecessary risk to say something like that. There was the chance that Sasuke would become a murderer because of Itachi and it actually did happen eventually. Well, Itachi realized this mistakes himself, which is fine. A very tragic character.

Exactly, so he made a wrong decision. He could have just not said that and assumed that the same power that made him strong - forming a bond with the village, and friendships - would make Sasuke strong. It was a bad error, and Sasuke's idea of "one person should be strong enough to handle all the problems" is literally because of Itachi. XD Itachi was training him to be the opposite of what he wanted the other Uchiha to be like. There was no way he could have expected Sasuke to grow to appreciate the village and form bonds outside of his clan if he literally told Sasuke "Any bond you form will only hold you back."

When this is the opposite of how Itachi himself became strong and made decisions...he was trying to protect his brother and the village...

People say "Itachi seems too perfect" but really there's no way to say this wasn't a plain mistake that could have easily been avoided.

Sasuke had other influences too though...

Obviously, Itachi f*cked up - he admitted as much.

But there were other issues that contributed; Superiority/Inferiority Complex, Naruto's rapid growth, Naruto's Rasengan vs. Sasuke's Chidori, Cursed Seal of Heaven, Orochimaru's Offer, Kakashi's Teaching etc.

Also...

They're shinobi. - killers for hire, morals and terms like 'Terrorism' are all a bit skewed - savvy?

Consider Minato, Yodaime Hokage, nice guy - looks like butter wouldn't melt, also happens to be a mass murderering terrorist in Iwa.

You're underestimating how much Sasuke identifed with his mission as an avenger. There's a panel in the Chuunin Exams where he plain says it. His feelings of inferiority to Naruto were directly related to his desire to complete his mission to kill Itachi - if he can't beat Naruto, how can he hope to beat Itachi? He felt like the village was holding him back - or that he himself couldn't progress staying in the village, at least - and he needed to go to Orochimaru to get the power he needed. After the Uchiha Clan Massacre, there isn't a single reference Sasuke makes to his relationship with the Uchiha Clan prior to its demise; only in relation to Itachi.

Itachi had monumental influence over every aspect of his life. Naruto did too - Orochimaru admitted as much, stating that Sasuke ouldn't have been so willing to sacrifice himself without Naruto's influence - but Itachi's statement of "You have to kill your best friend" ultimately undermined all of that.

Basically, it was demonstrated that Sasuke could become strong protecting his friends, and was learning to identify with the Will of Fire - until it was shown that Itachi's words to Sasuke trumped that.

Minamoto posted something in the sports section, says he can run 30km without stopping.
