You fail to realize Minato did not discover Rasengan. He created it based on observation. And noones pure chakra is visible without a nature added to it. The steps in Rasengan are high grade and every ninja recognizes this. Everyone who saw the rasengan was either completely suprised cuz they never seen visible chakra formed and maintained like that, or if they know of it, comment on it being EXTREMELY difficult to master.

Minato created a concept that didnt even exist in Naruto before him. You really think he is just holding chakra in his hands. Rasengan is the pinnacle of chakra shape manipulation.

I said he is a genius. Just not a prodigy. A genius can take years to develop something. A prodigy only need months.

Internal combustion engine is the result of putting other "built" stuff together.

This is where I'm going, there was already a lot of great Jutsu(s) before the rasengan that would allow a prodigy to come up with the rasengan within months really. But it took him 3 years.

It's pointless to argue with the manga. Creating a jutsu by studing the TBB requires skill. Granted that it took more time to create + master jutsus than some other chars, Minato was the first one to come up with the jutsu that would forever be passed down. It's quite obvious that new surpasses the old when it comes to prodigies inventing Justus but that doesn't make Mikado any less of a Prodigy.

Old why people use the time span against him as of it is a negative thing.

I'm a software engineer with a minor in computer engineer. The engineering mindset is all about looking at other built things(jutsu) and look at the fundamental behind them and create something new.

So Really I don't see why it took him 3 years to do it.
