Honestly the real question of this thread should be "How is Boruto a prodigy at all?"

Speed can mean your a prodigy if you excel at it. As for power, I mean his overall deathly reputation. But the fact that he was hailed as the fastest shinobi in history, is more than enough to be called a prodigy as explained above.

By that logic, A lot of people in NV are a prodigy then.

You forget Naruto used like a hundred Shadowclones to get nearly 20 years of experience to add a nature. Kakashi settled for Raikiri when he himself failed to add a nature. It is extremely difficult. So difficult that in the Boruto movie they made Boruto have an innate ability to add wind just so it wouldnt be a complete asspull.

It is not difficult. Just need high level chakra control! In fact, nearly the whole medical ninja sqaud should be able to create the Rasengan with no problem.

Rasengan is difficult to master. With great chakra control it is easier yes.

But inventing something is an altogether different task and it is not simple in the least.

If you noticed Rasengan is a completely different process then the bijuu bomb. He had to create a way to make pure chakra(no element) visible and self sustaining. Which means he actually has to work his genius mind and think.

Noone can just see Rasengan and easily do it. No ONE. You have to know the steps and practice it.


How about this. You see a black belt fight. You're highly athletic. Do you think you'll reach black belt status fast just because you're athletic?

Now think about all the other jutsu in NV. Putting chakra into a weapon like asuma... it ain't far fetch to figure out how to just hold raw chakra in your hands at that point. It wouldn't take 3 years to do that. How many other jutsu had you seen where chakra is visible to the human's eyes? A lot of them right? We had seen several ninja force chakra(aura) to cover their whole body. At that point, it is really just a matter of control to focus that chakra into yor hands and stablizing it so it don't blow up on them.

I just don't see it taking 3 years to do. If Chakra was discovered 3 years ago, then I can understand why it took that long, but there are mad jutsu(s) out there that meet the requirments or open doors to allow Minato to discover the rasengan.

Minato's one mistake was not killing Tobi.
his feats are, He could kill hundreds of men in a flash, faster than the fastest acclaim man in the universe (the Raikage/tobi/second hokage) but maybe not post war sasuke, mastery of all sealing tech, and created the mini bijuu bomb (rasangan).
He is not like his son who has a unlimited pool of charka and healing ability from his uzamaki clan and from the 9 tails. Minato and every other ninja had a limit to how many times and long they can train in a day because of their low charka reserves. Kakashi part one could lunch only 3 lighting blades before he was out of charka. when naruto's training with wind style, he could a mass one thousand clones and making a 20 years techique to master down to 1 week.

The steps in Rasengan are high grade and every ninja recognizes this. Everyone who saw the rasengan was either completely suprised cuz they never seen visible chakra formed and maintained like that, or if they know of it, comment on it being EXTREMELY difficult to master.

Minato created a concept that didnt even exist in Naruto before him. You really think he is just holding chakra in his hands. Rasengan is the pinnacle of chakra shape manipulation.
