So this issue has been going on way longer than it should have and that's mostly my fault for not contacting MS support but after the shit my 360 went through on it's last legs and what the One's been doing lately I haven't much cared about getting my XB back up and running since it still plays online and I have my PS3.

So the problem is my stupid Xbox won't connect me to live or the internet despite when I test my connection it comes back "All good, connected to internet" then I click connect to live and literally nothing happens. I try to go to settings and check payment plans and subs. it says need to be online, but I can't connect and you just told me all good. On top of that I had Batman AK installed(and all but beat) then this bs started and then a few days after it started when I turned on my XBO it says installation for Batman AK stopped clear space and my memory shows 99.9% used. I looked into clearing that and I read go to storage and press Y to clear cache but that does nothing. Now 2 other games(both already installed before this) are coming up as needing to install as well. Deleting games doesn't free up any of the 99.9% memory either.

The wifi, though it's gotten inexplicably slower the last few weeks, still connects throughout the house including the tv the XBO is hooked to and the PS3 that's less than a foot away. The only thing that's changed in that time is I moved the system upstairs where the PS3 is and connects and I played GTAV online. It seemed like after I took that out shit went south.

Anyone had this or know someone who did? Is there a home fix or do I need to get MS Support involved? I'd rather exhaust all other options as they'll likely try and pass the blame anyhow.

While I don't own an Xbox it's a lot more probable that the problem is with your network rather than the xbox itself. Idk how your router settings work as you're not in the same provider, but check your network settings. Maybe you messed up an IP to your xbox.

Can you connect with other devices well?

Get a PC.
I've thought about it and I've thought about buying the (likely) overpriced Alienware console. I really prefer controllers though, can you plug either a XB or PS controller into the PC and use it(or an off brand similar style that you can)?

Yeah I can and that's what's bugged me the most. My TV that the Xbox is hooked to can connect to my wifi(albeit a poor connection lately) and so can my PS3 which is right next to my One. The other smart TV's also connect fine. I have my IP and all the information on auto in my XBOX and it had been connecting fine. The biggest mystery is why it will tell me I've connected to my network and it's all good(the phrasing they actually use) when I put my password in but then nothing actually connects. Fairly certain it's the box at this point.

I don't wanna start a brand fight but MS primarily being from a software background shows when they put out consoles like 360 and One that are plagued with operating issues and are decorated with fancy software. I wish Sega hadn't been bought we need someone to shake the market up and Sega would have been good for that, Sega was one of the first to use discs and incorporate a built in modem. Sega lost because none of us could see what they were seeing.

Your first mistake was getting a Xbox.
Xbox is useless.
The problem is your XBOX is not a PS4.
Yeah a small part of me knew it when I left but I'm cheap. I went in planning on grabbing a PS4 after the ordeals my 360 put me through towards the end but then I got into Gamestop(2nd mistake was going there) and they had XBO's with the Assassin's Creed games(3rd mistake since I had beaten Black Flag and not cared about Rogue) and I can't resist a bundle deal apparently. Should have just stuck with my decision going in and got the PS.

You could build a cheap PC that you can get pirated games and not pay for online or buy a game in a steam sale.

Well, never had an xbox so really can't help in any way but give general advice. Sorry. :/

You should go give it to a service guy and let him check it out. It could be the adapter losing sygnal.

If it's only after log on (and not random connection loss) then you may have been blocked off for some reason. Maybe your account has been banned?

You filthy thief, I'll have your hand for that!

I think the xbo is just kinda shitty. Mine has problems all the time when I try to get two controllers going. And sometime it won't launch a game and you gotta restart it

All this shit talk over an Xbox one, ps4 isn't superior and neither is Xbox one itself. They're both just about as equal in overall performance everything else is just nitpicking

OT: I think it's just your router that's messing up and or your internet provider's cable line is damaged, I suggest you give them a call to check it out. If it's not the line then buy a new router, don't go cheap get a nice one and see if it fix the problem. I really doubt it's the Xbox, both PlayStation and Xbox consoles aren't known for having any internal malfunctions with wifi/Ethernet connectivity. The problem more than likely lands on your provider or router

Could be and I appreciate the response but I doubt it. If it was the router it would be having an issue with all the devices but it's only the XBO that won't work and it says it's connected during tests but then doesn't actually do any functions requiring a connection.

Then it unfortanetly may actually be the Xbox, it has to be it's wifi/Ethernet connection going bad. Try connecting the Xbox directly to your router via Ethernet cord that should fix it, maybe. You should definitely send your Xbox in to Microsoft so they can fix it for you

My brother, Dylan, had a similar issue once. I believe it was a router issue. I suggest resetting everything. Maybe look online more to see if anybody else had this issue.

Sorry if this isn't much help. Mother & I are more Nintendo based.

I'd be on the PC side except for the fact that I'm broke and I only know like 2 people who play PC.

And then there's the fact I suck at keyboard and mouse. I could always use a controller but I heard the keyboard users would wreck me then.

SO PS4 FTW.
You can actually get a decent computer for the price of a PS4 z.z
