Wearing armor is a means of tanking Amaterasu. You don't have to tank it with your body, you can also tank it with your clothes.

Lol ok, but I was referring to physical contact with the flames like Raikage, Nagato used Shinra Tensei to deflect the flames which suggests they can't be absorbed so Madara wouldn't have been able to stop them :eww:

Yeah, he still was forced to cancel out his strongest form because Amaterasu was too big of a threat. If Sasuke had not canceled the jutsu everything would have burned to ashes. So he was just fine because Sasuke needed him alive.
