Yeah, he still was forced to cancel out his strongest form because Amaterasu was too big of a threat. If Sasuke had not canceled the jutsu everything would have burned to ashes. So he was just fine because Sasuke needed him alive.

You know, that's right--Sasuke NEVER killed anyone with it beyond a few fodder Samurai & Zetzu clones. No one else who got hit with it ever took damage that truly mattered. Hell, the Raikage just cut off his arm & went off all fine & dandy when it was done. Wasn't in pain or slowed down at all.

Well Kaguya saw Naruto's Lava Rasenshuriken and was only afraid of Sasuke's Amaterasu, so she did not switch back to the ice Dimension.
