(Excellent. Why am I even teaching you... you're exceptional! :T_T: )

Aigis could almost sense that Roshi-san was pondering something. She wasn't quite sure what it was, but she could see it in his expression. Perhaps it was something personal: something that he didn't seem too keen on sharing just yet. Observing his clone's subtle handling of the lighter and the subsequent performing of both techniques, she realized there was far more to him than met the eye. He was older than her, after all; there were plenty of stories that he probably had. Roshi had mentioned a name... "Akio". Aigis was reminded of a close friend of hers. She was about to reminisce but quickly snapped herself back to reality. This wasn't the time to do so, and she wasn't that old to start waxing nostalgic... Akihiko-san

"I have no further insights. These techniques are relatively straightforward. Roshi-san, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't impressed. But I really am."

She almost felt a slight sense of inferiority to her student, but didn't let it show. If the new generation was this talented, she could only begin to imagine their strength once they had acquired knowledge and techniques. It was daunting.

"Now, for our next set of techniques."

"The first one has you first trapping an enemy or target with some kind of ninja wire, wrapping them around, immobilizing them or tying them to some environmental obstacle, like a tree. Then, weave the handseals Snake → Dragon → Rabbit → Tiger and knead Katon chakra in your mouth. While restraining your enemy and holding onto the cord, you'll then breath a stream of fire, which you'll need to maintain, along the wire. The wire will act like a fuse in which the fire will travel down, and it will incinerate your trapped target."

Aigis created a Shadow Clone of of herself for Roshi's clone to try the technique on.

( Katon: Ryūka no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique
Rank: C
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: The user will perform four handseals Snake → Dragon → Rabbit → Tiger , and breathe fire along a cord or any other type of long object, which rushes forward in straight line catching the enemy on fire. A line of enemies can be used as the conductor as well. The flames are meant to target, and assault the enemy's upper body just like a projectile weapon.

The original Aigis turned to the real Roshi while the clones were going at it.

"Perform the Tiger hand seal and exhale a flaming breath that can take either the form of multiple flaming projectiles or a single, large breath."

Inhaling deeply and performing the Tiger hand seal, Aigis demonstrated the technique to Roshi, exhaling a barrage of flaming bullets that hit a set of targets beside them with good accuracy.

( Katon: Karyūdan ) - Fire Release: Fire Dragon Bullet
Rank: C
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: The user exhales a flame breath from their mouth after making the tiger hand seal. This technique can be used in conjunction with Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet to ignite the projectiles fired by the latter technique, making it more devastating.

After listening to Souji's lesson, Roshi remembered about being a kid. Now most shinobi would have you believe that being an adult is serious business and being stone cold is a necessity. However, what really motivates people to continue is the promise of better days. The feeling of being free and seeing the wonder in the world around them. The joys of discovering new things and laughing. Happiness is an oh-so-familiar concept but when growing up and meeting face to face the fears of the mind, the idea becomes shattered and broken, tossed and forgotten. As Roshi looked on at Aigis, he imagined her once young, optimistic eyes reminiscent in young ones such as herself. He grinned and inside he felt a feeling he had long sheltered away, happiness. He decided this lesson to take a detour and show a side of himself he seldom does.

Roshi's clone decides to have some fun by throwing a flash bomb behind himself and then a couple of smoke bombs towards your clone's feet. As soon as your clone cannot be seen clearly, my clone then throws a kunai towards you with a explosive tag attached, then by transmitting my chakra towards you, I enact an illusion to you that would have you fooled into it appearing like myself running towards you. Whether you were deceived or not is of no consequence to me. As that illusion keeps you busy, I then throw a hook with a wire attached towards your feet so that they tie and bind you. Quickly acting once the wire binds you, I then make a string of four handseals as I channel a precise amount of chakra in my lungs, which converts my steady breath into fire that then travels along the cord and once it reaches you, it explodes quite nicely though considering its rank, not that powerful.

Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: The user does one handseal and throws a paper bomb at the enemy. The enemy, trapped in a genjutsu will see a clone of the user advancing upon him. As the paper bomb reaches the enemy, it explodes.

Description: The user will perform four handseals Snake → Dragon → Rabbit → Tiger , and breathe fire along a cord or any other type of long object, which rushes forward in straight line catching the enemy on fire. As your clone poofs or at least falls down, Roshi laughs and then begins speaking hoping someone was listening.

"Well, the Dragon Fire technique is an interesting technique as it allows you to take advantage of wires or wire-like things and breathing fire on them, causing the fire to spread from one end to the other. Though I may have probably exaggerated with the explosion, if used with some tact, you could probably do more damage or use in conjunction with other jutsu perhaps wind for example. Considering you are using a wire and with fire nonetheless, the effects are quite slow even if the wire suddenly was replaced with a rope with alcohol on it. I'd say to use this sparingly and with good judgement otherwise your enemy will quickly pick up on it and counter accordingly. There are several ways to counter this technique depending on how it is used against you. One could use a lightning surge and have that travel towards the other end where your opponent would be but not sure the pros and cons of that considering how it is set up. A wind surge could cancel it out if caught in it but that would only dispel the fire not the binding effect of the wire. I really see no viable way to undo the binding so you would have to avoid the wire altogether."

Meanwhile....

The original Roshi stood on the other side listening to the real Aigis' lesson. Although his clone had had some fun, Roshi suddenly looked at Aigis in another light. Nothing bad but he wondered, who was this woman? He spoke in a rather chummy way that seemed almost out of character for him but like all men, he only wanted to better understand the people around him.

"Hm...Aigis...I know you are on a tight schedule but I wonder. What motivates you? What is your "center"?"

He looked down and said in a rather childish way:

"You don't have to answer me now but think about it."

Roshi then proceeded with the last lesson of the day and put on his game face as he prepared himself.

"I hope you don't mind if I make this simple this time around. I seem to have exhausted myself today and just want to finish this technique. I am old you know."

Having said that, Roshi channels his chakra throughout his body, concentrates it towards the ground in front of him, then releases it, forming a river of mud. As the river travels forward towards a tree, using the mud as a base, he then, through more chakra input and manipulation, summons a dragon head to rise from it and begin spewing mud bullets towards the tree. As the bullets begin spewing from the dragon head, Roshi then quickly channels his chakra into his lungs and expels a breath of flame that ignites them, creating pseudo-lava bullets that then destroy the tree they were aimed at. Having used a lot of chakra and concentration, Roshi then leans a bit forward and places his hands on his knees. His clone then poofs away from all the extraneous activity and Roshi is left there with Aigis alone.

Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: This technique lets the user summon a river of mud in front of them by lifting one of their hands in the air. This technique can have water added to it to speed up the flow and increase its power.

Rank: C
Type: Offense
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: When used with Earth Release: Earth Flow River, the user will then perform the Ram → Horse → Dragon they can create a dragon-like head that fires concentrated mud bullets at an opponent. This can also be combined with a fire jutsu to shoot lava toward an opponent. The dragon can be created from other mud techniques as along as a mud source is available.

After composing himself again though still panting, Roshi then carries on with his analysis.

"Well my dear, I like this jutsu better than the other one I just did with my clone. It is good by itself but when used in conjunction with some earth techniques, they can be quite devastating. I was surprised to be reminded that this technique can split itself as well albeit in weaker projectiles. Though its strength alone is average at best, this could work out to be a nice distraction though I am sure there are better, stronger versions yet to be learned. But because of its low cost, it works just the same. At close range, this is pretty neat and doesn't require any handseals, making it that much more appealing. I mean how do you counter when an enemy at close range opens his mouth and spews several small fire bullets? Yeah, yeah I know you could use wind or a shield of sorts but adding some kunais/shurikens/etc. would probably make it deadly if you also include explosive tags to it. Other than that I don't think there is anything that can be said about it. Unless I am wrong?"

With that said, Roshi reverts to his stoic demeanor as before with his arms crossed.

(You can cut the ninja wire before the user sends the flame towards you. Use a sword, easy counter xD

I also read that you would use wind; remember that it would need to be at least one rank higher to cancel out the fire U_U

Nice combinations, I saw no problems with them. Good work going the extra mile, you can continue to do that if you'd like ^^)

Aigis heard Roshi's questions.

"My... center? My... motivations?" her look shifted upward, and her face took on an inquisitive expression, as if in deep thought.

"I suppose my motivations lie in bettering myself and helping others. Yes, it's a little archetypal, but that's what I've promised myself, since..."

She stopped herself right there, biting down on her lip. Beneath her usual expression lay something that she didn't like talking about. She cleared her throat, resuming her persona after the briefest moment of weakness.

"Let's proceed. Make three Shadow Clones, if you please." she sounded a little aloof, as if trying to quickly deflect and shift the subject.

"Perhaps we can speak about it later."

"Each of your clones and you will perform this next set of jutsus. Four techniques in total, but this will complete your training in the C-rank Katon jutsus."

"One of you will weave the six hand seals Rat, Tiger, Dog, Ox, Rabbit, and Tiger. Mold Katon chakra in your mouth and exhale a volley of fireballs. You can control the fireballs' path with your chakra, making it hard to avoid. By throwing shuriken alongside the fireballs, you can create a dual attack, with one masking the other, allowing for a sneak attack."

"Try it on those tree stumps over there, but keep in mind that this technique only reaches up to short range."

Aigis pointed to a set of tree trunks that were at chest height.

( Katon: Hōsenka no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique
Rank: C
Type: Offense
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: The user first performs six hand seals Rat → Tiger → Dog → Ox → Rabbit → Tiger and they create a volley of small fireballs, which are sent flying in an unpredictable manner assaulting the enemy. In addition, the flames are controlled one by one with chakra, so avoiding them all is extremely difficult. Shuriken can also be concealed within the flames, creating an unexpected secondary surprise attack. Like the flames, the shuriken can be controlled with chakra. For the most part, however, this technique is used as a distraction.

Aigis creates a Shadow Clone that's wearing a sundress, and she begins looking around. It was a nice day, and she hummed a quiet tune.

"Whoever's next, mold Katon chakra and release a small flame that will hit your target-in this case, my clone over here. The flame will converge and surround her, wrapping her in a 'cocoon' of flames, burning her. This is an effective trapping technique, while being relatively fast and effective to perform."

Whew. Aigis took a deep breath after explaining each jutsu to Roshi and his clones. It was tiring, and she sat on a tree stump, legs crossed as she observed her student... or students, for that matter. While she was watching her, her thoughts seemed to drift...

Labrys... Metis...

Roshi had felt exhausted from all the work he had done but as he stayed there panting, he looked down and in his mind he had a conversation unbeknownst to Aigis.

*cue music*

"Roshi...are you that pitiful that you fall down after using just one clone clone? I thought you were more stronger than that."

Roshi looked up with one eye as the other was closed due to his exhaustion. It was none other than Son Goku, the Four-Tailed Bijuu. He looked quite angry at him though this wasn't the first time this had happened. Throughout their time together, despite being a proud, wise man, Roshi still made mistakes and was often the cause of many discussions between the two.

"I thought you said you would leave me alone Yonbi-san? Are you going back on your word? I'd hate to think someone as wise as you would break your promise."

Roshi's tone sounded quite sarcastic as was expected for an old man from the prideful Iwagakure. Though this seemed not to phase Son Goku as he too tended to be sarcastic. It was this quality between them that brought them closer despite their differences. Unlike many would have him believe, Roshi treated Son Goku with respect despite their exchange of dry humor. Ever since becoming a jinchuuriki, Son Goku has helped Roshi by granting him wisdom and later on his power. It was unprecedented for a jinchuuriki to get along so well with his Bijuu especially like that of the two. But it was natural for such a thing to happen, when two people with similar pain and hardships come together and create a bond. As sappy as it looked, Roshi admired Son Goku for his wisdom and likewise, Son Goku admired Roshi for his resilience to never give up.

"I don't break my promises like you do but I guess that what happens when you are Iwarian. You old cogs are all the same sad story. Anyways, I think you need some help especially if you want to impress her. You know you are getting older...you don't want to die alone now do you, eh?"

"WHAT?! I'll have you know us Iwarians never break our promises and we repay our debts twice over! (Calmly) And who are you calling old, you ancient...ape."

"Take that back or you'll force me to....!"

"To what? Kill me? Wouldn't that kill you to?"

"......"

"Thought so. (pauses) Son...you think we should try it out?"

"Apologize and I will."

"(bows mockingly) Forgive me, oh great and powerful Son."

"(Glares) You can't say my name can you? Fine then, let's do it."

As Son Goku shares some of his immense chakra with Roshi, a burst of energy emanates from him like a powerful flame enveloping his entire body. Roshi could feel the surge of chakra throughout him and he felt he could take on a tougher task. He looked at Aigis hoping she wouldn't be disappointed.

"It is time to step it up a bit. Just tell me if I missed anything, okay?"

With that Roshi channels the surge of chakra as he makes a cross handsign. He makes 4 precise shadow clones each possessing a portion of his power and strength, hoping to speed up their training as Roshi was determined to finish what was left of the techniques for C-Rank.

Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The Kage Bunshin distributes the ninja's chakra evenly among the clones and creates a real copy with form and substance. The clone itself can also utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows. When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained is passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones. Upon impact, the clone can be dispersed.

Using his intellectual prowess, he motioned for all the clones to stand in a line and look forward. He motioned for Aigis to stand behind the line where she would be safe. Roshi then spoke to her as each of the clones performed a jutsu.

Clone 1 approaches a tree stump ahead of him so that he is in short range. He channels his chakra to below his feet and creates a gushing pillar of water with his chakra that then propels him into the air as it shoots upward. Once airborne and his sight still locked on the target, the clone channels his chakra once more as he inhales, performing the Rat → Tiger → Dog → Ox → Rabbit → Tiger handsigns in the meantime. He then expels a volley of fireballs aimed at the tree stumps. Multitasking, the clone is able to manipulate the fireballs as he throws several shuriken behind them. They blend in with the flames quite nicely and create a formidable attack, lighting the stumps as if they were mere candles. The clone then lands carefully on the ground, looks at Roshi for approval, and proceeds to sit down quietly.

"I used to look down upon this jutsu until I saw a young Uchiha perform it in the most astounding way. He launched the fireballs quickly and with the aid of his sharingan, he sped past his opponent, slashing him in the process to distract him then followed by the fireballs raining down on him creating a nice explosion. For a average ranked fire technique it seems to be a good choice for distracting you opponent especially when you're in the process of gouging your opponent's strength. As far as strengths and weaknesses...it is a good short range technique to use as a distraction especially if you use it to mask projectiles that can pass through it or with it. It's weakness seems to lie in its range and size other than that, I am hard pressed to tell you what it lacks in. Lately I have been interested in fire techniques and this one will be one I hope to use on a continual basis as its not bad...for a short range technique. I rather like."

With that taken care of, Clone 2 then steps forward and stares perplexed at the clone in the sundress. His witty remark to him was, "(shrug) When in Rome..." My clone then takes a deep breath whilst channeling chakra to his mouth. As he exhales, he mixes the chakra in his mouth with his breath, creating a flame that he sends forth onto your clone. Using my experience with fire, I then proceed to manipulate the flames to wrap around the clone, encasing them in a fiery hell of a cocoon. Roshi looked on with a disappointed look.

"....."

OOC: I don't like these types of techniques because although they are straightforward, they explain very little leaving a lot to interpretation. Like for example, is this a sustained attack like a flamethrower or is it one single fireblast? My view of it is that you throw it towards their feet at an accelerated speed which then swirl around them, encasing them in a cocoon like bandages wrapping a body. At least it looks cool like that to me. >_>

So far as strengths, it has a good range being able to get people up to mid range of yourself. Looks like a good attack and might be nice for your first move followed by either wind, lightning, or earth. No idea on weaknesses since it doesn't look like your opponent can do anything once caught up in it. At least from what I am thinking.

Thanks to a helping hand from his Aigis-sensei, Clone 3 flies high as a kite (or must be those herbs he was smoking earlier). Upon reaching midair, my clone inhales deeply and releases several small fire bullets/shots/balls converted from his channeled chakra. As the fire shots rain down upon an open spot on the field, the other clones make a gesture with their hands and all exclaim, "Make it rain!" Roshi laughs as his serious composure is lost, revealing a rather humorous side to his teacher

Roshi then regains his serious facade and goes on to speak to his teacher concerning the jutsu.

"Well then...it isn't bad but it's not good either. It's nice while in midair and all but I am sure there will be better jutsu to come along. Though I have to say that for being quite basic it looks useful since there are no handseals to perform. Good for a spur of the moment thing when in midair. Would be nice to use a lot of ninja tools behind it to make it really rain some pain. Huehuehue" :>

Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: The user whilst in mid air will release from their mouth a series of small fire shots that rain down upon the target

Once everyone settled down, Clone 4 proceeds forward to perform the last jutsu (finally >_>). He channels chakra to his mouth as he takes a deep breath. As he breathes out, using his chakra he manipulates the small fireball into becoming very bright then releases it forward towards the tree in the weeee distance (long range), lighting it on fire...slightly. My clone then looks onward, squinting, "Not good at all...".

Roshi then goes on to share his thoughts on the technique.

"Well it does seem handy that it is bright. Wonder if it was intended to blind your opponent or some such effect. The nifty thing about it seems to be its range and size, making it ideal for any situation. Though at the same time, its just a small fireball that can be easily snuffed out. From the looks of it, it seems to me it travels in a linear motion and isn't directed much by chakra. It's rather simple and straightforward but nothing I see using on a regular basis."

Roshi then looks to Aigis.

"Is there something I missed?"

Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 15

There was a long period of time in between the student and teacher's last communication. In the absence of Roshi, Aigis had gone off on her own "journey", and was unceremoniously replaced by , who watched as Roshi performed all four techniques with his clones with great skill and carefully thought-out scenarios.

Blurting out after Roshi had completed the jutsus, she sat on a tree stump in a very casual, almost suggestive position. Her body language was much different from Aigis's: in contrast to the latter's tight yet elegant stance, Ryuko was far looser, implying both a freedom and perhaps even promiscuity. Of course... looks could be deceiving.

In her hands, she held a large red metallic sword which looked like a half-blade of a huge pair of scissors. This was her weapon... there were many like it, but this was hers. She was rarely seen without it.

Stabbing her sword into the ground, she rested one foot on it as she rested her head on one arm and leaned forward; a look of apparent boredom or perhaps indifference.

"Ok, so that goody-two-shoes Aigis is gone. Hopefully for good. For your sake I'll just finish this up. Leaving you alone here, dunno if you'd survive a night with just C-ranks! My name's Ryuko Matoi. Don't ask why or how I got here. Earn it." she giggled playfully and slightly sarcastically.

Without warning, Ryuko flipped her left arm (the arm she wasn't resting on) in a blurred motion, releasing two kunais that hit two of the Roshis, dispersing them as their chests had kunais lodged in them.

"Oh, good! The real one is still alive. Imagine if I had hit you instead! You won't need that many clones since we won't do tons of jutsus per turn." she said as if it were a simple matter; nonchalantly. Either she was ridiculously intuitive, sadistic, or brave as hell. Perhaps all three...

"Weave seven handseals and release a thin, fast flaming stream that spreads in an arc the farther it gets away from you. It's super hot and can melt the floor. The third Hokage Hiruzen used this when he fought Orochimaru and the Senju bros."

"Easy, right? No need for me to explain much else?"

( Katon: Karyū Endan ) - Fire Release: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet
Rank: B
Type: Offense
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user first performs seven handseals Ram → Horse → Snake → Dragon → Rat → Ox → Tiger and kneads chakra into flames, which are then manipulated and exhaled as a thin yet incredibly fast jet of flames that spread across the ground as it runs towards the enemy. Its temperature is such that it easily melts the ground as it travels and can reduce an enemy to ash.

"Mold Katon chakra to form fireballs in your hands. Compress them further so that they look like glowing balls. Throw them like grenades at your targets. Upon hitting said targets, they cause explosion damage, not burning damage."

"Get it right, or you'll have to keep trying 'till you do!"

( Bakuhatsu Enhogan ) – Exploding Flame Shots
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user shoots multiple fire shots from their hands that are able to cause fiery explosions on impact with any object. The shots can't set the opponent on fire, though they can cause damage by exploding on him.

With her fierce eyes, she intently watched Roshi, although her outward expression didn't betray this idea as she still looked rather passive.

In the meantime that Aigis was gone, Roshi had kept himself busy with training. Using his clones to cut down on his training, Roshi had several of the clones spar each other while he, himself, fought one. This kept things interesting for a while until Roshi finally began to wonder what had happened to his teacher. He spoke to one of his clones hoping to get an answer.

"I wonder where she is? She is usually spot on when it comes to appearances."

The clone gave him a rather annoyed look and responded quite rudely though this was expected.

"You seem to forget that I know as much as you so asking me is like asking a wall."

For a moment, that comment seemed to cheer up Roshi. At least he wasn't alone today. It was then a young girl appeared out of nowhere, speaking to him in a manner indicating she was in some way above him. Perhaps this was a new teacher. His quick thinking led him to believe that Aigis wasn't coming anymore.

"Ok, so that goody-two-shoes Aigis is gone. Hopefully for good. For your sake I'll just finish this up. Leaving you alone here, dunno if you'd survive a night with just C-ranks! My name's Ryuko Matoi. Don't ask why or how I got here. Earn it."

Roshi crossed his arms expecting her to either explain herself or jump right into the next lesson. That didn't seem the case though as she quickly threw several kunai to his clone, causing them to poof away. Her remark to it seemed almost as humourous as dry bread.

"Oh, good! The real one is still alive. Imagine if I had hit you instead! You won't need that many clones since we won't do tons of jutsus per turn."

If Roshi hadn't been the well taught Iwarian that he was, he would have responded uncouthly as well and fought her straight on. But he retrained himself. This was a woman after all and if experience had taught him anything, it's that they are either very useless or very deadly, sometimes a mixture of both. Her next reply began the lesson leaving no doubt as to her intentions in the least bit.

Roshi closed his eyes with his arms still crossed and almost immovable. He replied sarcastically in almost the same manner as her.

"I suppose."

Roshi, with his eyes still closed, weaves a set of seven handsigns in the pattern of the Ram → Horse → Snake → Dragon → Rat → Ox → Tiger signs. All the while kneading his chakra from throughout his body and focusing it towards his mouth. As he inhales and exhales, whilst also keeping his hands in the tiger sign, he opens his eyes and breathes out flames that he then manipulates precisely into a fast jet of fire that travels towards the ground and all the way towards the trees, more than 15 meters away.

(Katon: Karyū Endan) - Fire Release: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet

Its temperature is such that it easily melts the ground as it travels and can reduce an enemy to ash.
For the next jutsu, Roshi closed his eyes again to concentrate. He clapped his hands together and channeled his chakra to both his hands. He then separated them from each other and with a precise control, lifted his hand up so that he palm was facing forward and outward. He then released the chakra, through nature transformation and shape manipulation, in the form of flame several flame shots. He directed its trajectory towards the tree that rested between the 5 to 15 meter mark, resulting in an several, small explosions.

"Oooh! That one's a nice technique. I like it!"

Roshi couldn't help himself from saying that. It was in fact a nice technique to use.

Roshi then composed himself and spoke quite formally.

"Sensei, I assume you want me to give you the advantages, disadvantages, etc.?"

She hadn't said anything but cautious as he was, he wanted to make sure unless she was going a different route with their training.

Ok, so to make up for my absence, here are five techniques... we'll transition to a more discussion based RP session (meaning we'll be in character as we discuss each jutsu, so nothing is lost). Most of them are relatively straightforward, just variants of fireball techniques. The Ash Pile Burning was used by Asuma when he fought Hidan back in the day.

Do you have any questions, comments, concerns about any of these?

( Katon: Hiendan ) – Fire Release: Soaring Flame Bullet
Rank: B
Type: Offense, Deffence
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user exhales a stronger yet shorter version of the Fire Release: Great Fireball technique.
( Katon: Gōenkyū ) - Fire Release: Great Blaze Ball
Rank: B
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user after performing two hand seals Horse → Tiger exhales a big-sized sphere of fire that carries the enemy away and causes a massive explosion on impact. The fire ball has a given solidity property to it, being able to punch through solid obstacles without exploding.
( Katon: Gōenka ) - Fire Release: Great Flame Flower
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user jumps in the air and shoots three giant bullets of fire that come down like giant meteors, then erupt into a geyser of flame.
( Katon: Haisekishō ) - Fire Release: Ash Pile Burning
Rank: B
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user spews superheated ash from their mouth after performing four handseals. The ash is hot enough to cause third-degree burns on the victim. Because it's composed entirely of ash, it stays in the air around the victim like a cloud. If the user clicks his teeth, the stagnant ash will ignite, creating a violent explosion.
( Katon: Gōryūka no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique
Rank: B
Type: Offense/Supplementary
Range: Short/Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user fires several large dragon-shaped fireballs at their opponent after performing one handseal. It is able to alter localized weather conditions to the point of making thunder clouds when shot into the air, enabling the user to perform Kirin.

Roshi takes a look at the scroll and begins to give his opinion on the one's his sensei had left for him. Not sure if she would return back from her bathroom break, he goes along and writes them in another scroll to hand over. He reads over to the first technique.

(Katon: Hiendan) – Fire Release: Soaring Flame Bullet
Rank: B
Type: Offense/Defense
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user exhales a stronger yet shorter version of the Fire Release: Great Fireball technique.
Roshi crosses his arms and closes his eyes as he offers his opinion.

"Considering it describes itself as its child technique of Great Fireball technique, it's not as impressive as I thought it would end up being. After all the parent technique of this is able to shoot several fireballs up to mid-range and this one...this one is quite disappointing. It's great that it's a stronger rank but so are other one's I have yet to learn and even then they can do much more. Sad really."

He then proceeds with the next one.

(Katon: Gōenkyū) - Fire Release: Great Blaze Ball
"Two handseals, pushes back due to its increased solidity, and causes a massive explosion on impact. Good, good. I actually like this one because it's not a technique you have to maintain. Thanks to the solidity of it, you can quickly launch it and then perform another technique of which I'd recommend a lower-ranked wind technique to give it a boost. Although it says through solid obstacles, I doubt it can break through everything. I'll assume you can break through earth & water obstacles of C-Rank and below as B-Rank would more than likely cancel it, correct?"

(Katon: Gōenka) - Fire Release: Great Flame Flower
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user jumps in the air and shoots three giant bullets of fire that come down like giant meteors, then erupt into a geyser of flame.
Roshi opens one eye to read and upon finishing it, he opens the other one and a smile overtakes his stern look.

"Now this one...this is a technique. You jump in the air - no handseals mind you - and shoot three fireballs that come down and explode/erupt into a geyser of flame. That's pretty much three geysers you're making altogether. Now why is it so amazing even for a B-Rank?"

Roshi brings out a little piece of paper he had from a brochure about geysers. Who knew he carried something like that around. He coughed as if getting his sensei's attention as he read a small snipet from it.

"(Ahem) Even a small geyser is an amazing phenomenon; however some geysers have eruptions that blast thousands of gallons of boiling hot water up to a few hundred feet in the air.

So you see? If even one geyser can do that by itself, imagine putting three in close proximity of each other? That would be devastating in a real fight especially if done from a safe vantage point. Which is why this one is done while in the air/midair."

(Katon: Haisekishō) - Fire Release: Ash Pile Burning
Roshi continues talking with a smile.

"Ah yes this one. I rather like this one as it can do a lot of damage at your control - limited control but control nonetheless - which is a game changer especially at close quarters. It's not so much the teeth that ignite this ash cloud but a fire I assume. If it's not like the gas technique we learned a while back then this is truly a wonderful technique because despite the ash being hot, if you decide it, you can cause an explosion if it suits your strategy or leave it as is. Asuma and Konohamaru are very proficient at this as well as someone else I pitched the idea to who improved upon it and combined it with ninjutsu. Too bad he isn't active anymore (Khallil) or else he could really expand on it more. I've seen a similar, yet more powerful technique, from Madara Uchiha himself called (Hajingakure no Jutsu) - Hiding in Ash Technique. Anyways, the four handseals is cutting it close but I assume you have a game plan to use it strategically otherwise you wasted your time."

(Katon: Gōryūka no Jutsu) - Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique
Happy he nears the end of this days lesson, Roshi then goes on to finish up with a rather creepy expression. Perhaps he had seen a related technique that goes well with this.

"You guessed it. Although I've yet to see Kirin, I've learned about it and how it works. You shoot these bad boys up into the sky and create enough moisture to make clouds. These clouds then create the conditions to perform Kirin to which all lightning specialists are dying to perform. Of course a smart fighter can see this a mile away if you just use this technique without a proper strategy. The best way to use this would be to mask it with another or keep your enemy occupied with something else. If you are one of the few to know smoke ninjutsu then you have all the tools to make it happen otherwise you'll have to stick to clones and binding jutsu. There's other ways but I am feeling lazy to go ahead and explain them all to you right now. But of course because you are my sensei, I'll do anything you ask."

Roshi laughs.

"Well... I wouldn't say it'd break through C-rank water. They'd cancel out. For earth, though, it can punch through even up to B-ranks!"

Out of nowhere, Souji Seta appeared at the training grounds ("The Reverse Fool" in my sig), greeting his student. Picking up the clipboard with Aigis' notes, he scanned them.

Then, he put it down and clapped his hands together, looking enthusiastic.

"Alright, let's keep going! I'm Souji, and it looks like it's been a while. Show me how you'd perform this next technique so I can get a feeling for your level."

Unraveling the magical scroll of jutsus, he showed the following to his student:

( Katon: Hōsenka Tsumabeni ) - Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Flower Nail Crimson
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user unleashes a volley of shuriken with one hand, while at the same time exhaling fire-infused chakra onto them in order to increase the weapons' destructive potential by making them capable of inflicting severe burns upon direct contact with either the intended victim or any other object caught within their trajectories. Due to the chakra-based nature of the flames that surround them, the shuriken will continue to burn after impact, regardless of the flammability of the object that they ultimately collide with.

Note: The gif show something else from the anime so just performing it like is written. I wonder why they are so different.

Roshi nods his head and gets to work. He jumps into the air in front of one of many dummies-that-never-die. Grabbing shuriken from one of his pouches, he throws throws some towards the dummy. Immediately after his hands are free, he inhales as he gathers fire-type chakra. As he exhales he releases a fireball that is then picked up by the many shuriken already flying. Considering his chakra is on the shuriken, they continue burning even after they hit the dummy.

I think this is the first technique I've seen that actually reaches to long range. I would assume there is some preparation time to get all those lanterns to spawn. Once they've spawned then you just direct them to where you want them to go. From what I saw performed in the movie, these appear all over the field in what looked like short range. Then from there you can direct them to cluster together and attack your opponent. I'd use this one with Genjutsu. Other than that, it's just not that great but maybe its because it doesn't draw me in like some jutsus. I think there are other more better direct jutsu than this one which seems to take a while. I don't have much to say on this one as I can't really say it draws my attention. It's good you only need one handseal but...meh.

Based off the description it seems this technique is meant to burn anything above it (up to 3 meters tall). I would assume that since it says erupt you take it as pushing/throwing someone into the air. However in my opinion fire shouldn't be able to do that unless it has a more solid form which in this case it shouldn't. All it should do is burn the enemy (if he doesn't defend against it). Considering this is a pillar, I can infer that it must be compressed together which then would explain why you would say the enemy is being thrown up. I am against using it like you said but if that is how it is used then I can't complain.

Anyways, this is a good technique for two purposes, 1.) it burns the feet of your opponent if done correctly, and 2.) it lifts your opponent into the air, setting you up for a followup attack of your choice. I would be more concerned, as an attacker, of getting my opponents feet burnt no matter how small. Why? It would cause him a hindrance throughout the battle which would work in my favor. Being in the air can be remedied using either water, a high level wind technique, or if they are smart, use a ninjutsu technique such as ninja tools or summonings. I wonder how good it would be to use an appropriate whirlwind technique to augment the fire and really swallow the enemy by creating a fire tornado? Sound cool no?

OOC: Sensei, if its not a bother but could you bump up our jutsu to two in your following replies instead of one please? <3

Yes, you can use the fire + wind to create the maelstrom of fire. It compliments it since they would both likely burst from the ground or converge on your target (fire from the bottom, wind from the top).

I'll be switching to a more discussion based training so that I can fulfill your request. Still talking in character, though U_U

The first two jutsus in this set are multi-stage techniques, and they look cool. The third is nothing you haven't seen before xd

Questions, comments on these?

( Katon: Kaen Senpū ) - Fire Release: Flame Whirlwind
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: After performing the required four handseals Monkey → Bird → Dog → Ram, fire erupts around the user's body and then launches towards the target in a spiraling-manner or expands engulfing the surrounding area in a tornado of flames. Anything nearby is incinerated as the flames erupt upwards.
( Katon: Benijigumo ) - Fire Release: Crimson Earth Spider
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: After performing five handseals Tiger → Horse → Rat → Dog → Tiger , the user spews out fire that both surrounds the enemy and then transforms into a spider that attacks the enemy. This technique effectively traps and attacks an opponent at the same time, and can be used to force them into another attack.

This was done quite fast in the anime that it was hard to properly dissect it. But it's pretty straightforward. The one thing that I question is that it says it comes from the user's body rather than just say their mouth like most fire techniques. When Suika used it, you couldn't tell which part of his body it came from. This poses a new and interesting concept to use it as.

Since it's not specific, how about using it in tandem with Taijutsu? While not completely like Fire Release Technique (D-Rank), the user can still move his hands like airbending in which you create a spiral with your hands and bring them in, creating a focal point, then releasing a blast forward - in this case, with the fire. Using one's chakra to spin the fire, condense it a bit to become a fireball, and then releasing is what this techniques mainly does. Having a clone, Y/Y training, and/or an ally can mix this with a whirlwind jutsu and increase the lethality of it especially when combating either strong defenses or ice release.

Edit: I looked more at the video and there was another instance in that episode where he used this and a fire does envelop the user similar to a flower closing. Then a spiraling fireball shoots forward from that enveloping fire. I would assume that that fire acts as a sort of defense while he performs the technique. From the looks of it, it seems to be a projectile technique and not a streaming one. Am I wrong?

(Katon: Benijigumo) - Fire Release: Crimson Earth Spider

Spiders. My interest at the moment. Funny I get to learn this. xD

I totally get why Suika tried to use this technique. He wanted them to go up to where his webs were above the trees. To do this he needed to present them with a danger that would force them up. He spews out a fireball downwards after making the handseals. Once it hits the ground it separates in what I call two techniques in one. One part of the fire becomes a small wall of flames, preventing anyone from escaping from that end. Then, given how quick the spider moves, the user is forced to make a counter which in this case was for Kiba and Hinata to go up into the trees. He then hit them with the spider's chakra silk thread which hardened like steel and pierced through the trees. If they hadn't moved they would have been killed instantly. The spider seems to move around fast but its more than likely because it is connected to the user' who is manipulating it through his chakra. I assume that he has to maintain the technique as I didn't see him push the opponents with another technique. It's still good though since hopefully by then you already planned ahead with a trap. I am loving the range on this one. :>

I think it's a neat technique but that's probably because it has a spider in it. >_>

(Katon: Hi no Iki) - Fire Release: Fire Breath
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user breathes a powerful stream of fire from their mouth at their target.

Good range and its a good stream of fire. It's advantage is the use of no handseals. Despite it being simple in its use, I'd definitely would find myself using it. Nothing more to say on it. Sometimes simple techniques like this are more better than complicated ones that require handseals or have special conditions.

Here are the last three B-rank fire techniques. Our first one is a rare defensive fire technique. Fast to perform and use, it's a good defense against wind and neutral elements!

Second is a fire/sword combo. Most of the time, you may not finish the combination to release the fireball at the end z.z

Finally, Graceful Flame is a stream that erupts into a flaming column that brings your target up into the air. Good for setup.

( Katon: Honoo no Heki ) Fire Release: Flame Wall
Rank: B
Type: Offensive/Defensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user kneads fire chakra into their forearm and then by swinging their arm in a wave motion they release the fire chakra creating a line of fire that spreads out infront of the user acting as a defensive wall.
( Katon: Hinotama no Mai ) - Fire Release: Fireball Dance
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user will attack the opponent with a series of slashes with their sword and then finish up with jumping into the air above the target and releasing a powerful fireball down upon them.
Note: Requires a Sword.
( Katon: Yūgana Honoo ) - Fire Release: Graceful Flame
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user manipulates their fire chakra and doing the tiger hand seal, shoots an intense fire stream at the opponents feet which then lifts them into the air in the eruption of a column of intense flames. Sasori can replicate this technique through the usage of his fire launcher.

So sorry sensei for not replying in a long while. T_T

Anywho... >_>

(Katon: Honoo no Heki) Fire Release: Flame Wall

It's a good technique like you said. Couldn't find much info. on it but it looks to be useful. No handseals and effective enough to send a message to your enemy. An interesting thing to note is that it mentions you knead fire chakra in your forearm and then release fire from it in which you create a fire wall. While it could be used defensively as a wall, I was just thinking that in CQC you could knead the fire chakra, then hit your opponent with it and release the fire chakra. Would that work? Would be nice if it could.

(Katon: Hinotama no Mai) - Fire Release: Fireball Dance

Another move which I would definitely use in battle due to the part about using a sword (several slashes at that!) and then jumping in he air to shoot a fireball. I could then combo it with either a wind or lightning technique afterwards - wind to supplement the fire to be bigger and stronger or lightning because of its fast nature. I am curious, would it be a problem if I used say another weapon other than a sword? Like a tanto, bo staff, or spear?

(Katon: Yūgana Honoo) - Fire Release: Graceful Flame

This is a nice technique to use getting your enemy airborne. After getting airborne is when options open up. A nice one to follow up with is:

(Sōgu: Tensasai) - Manipulated Tools: Heavenly Chain of Destruction
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: 60
Description: A stronger version of the Twin Rising Dragons, the user tosses their large scroll into the air above her opponent and summons hundreds of different weapons from it, which then rain down, impaling the opponent and anything in their path. The weapons move so fast that they appear as white streaks.
As they fly into the air, I would perform this one which should cover as many angles once the weapons start raining down. Though I was thinking...using a paralyzing lightning technique would be better to use right after this fire tech as it would make things easier for me in the long run. Yeah...

Flame Wall has damage points, so your strategy would work, and it would also put a wall between you and your enemy, which might be a favored strategy for certain politicians z.z

And as for Fireball Dance, any bladed weapon should do the trick. The 'requires a sword' note isn't too strict, but I'd say bos, tonfas, or other non-bladed, stick-style weapons wouldn't count, I'd say.

A-rank time! *strikes a pose in a -male- cheerleader outfit*

Take a look at these two, and let's move onto a new point of discussion. What are some of the effects of fire techniques on the environment around them, aka the battleground? This is something rarely accounted for even in the most critical of fights.

(Katon: Shageki Bisuketto) – Fire Release: Firing Biscuit technique
Rank: A
Type: Offensive, supplementary
Range: Short – Mid
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: 60
Description: After performing the needed hand seals Rat → Dragon → Boar the user then creates powerful flames inside the giant oven created by Lightning Release: Sixteen pillar bind, cooking the opponent until their burnt. Its normally used together with Earth Release: Mud fall to harden the mud covering the enemy, immobilizing them.
Note: Can only be used in the collaboration of Lightning Release: Sixteen Pillar Bind
(Katon: Zukokku) - Fire Release: Intelligent Hard Work
Rank: A
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: The user after performing the required hand seals Rat → Dog → Tiger fires a small fireball that erupts into a giant fire-storm after making contact with a surface, causing widespread destruction to the area. Since the flames travel along the ground, and cover such a wide area this is a difficult technique to evade. When combined with Wind Release: Pressure Damage, this technique is amplified to the point of being able to evaporate a large amount of water in an instant.

(Katon: Shageki Bisuketto) – Fire Release: Firing Biscuit Technique

Well this is one is situational per its description. As far as affecting its environment, we can't really tell considering we weren't shown much but a little deductive reasoning I can try to explain. While inside the Sixteen Pillar Bind, it creates the conditions of an oven which is more accurately like a pizza oven (not the modern day ones). What makes it interesting is that clay is waterproof (up to a certain degree). But anyways, I would assume that whatever is inside the oven will mix with the clay or be completely evaporated. Considering its an A-Rank, then it's not far fetched to assume anything in it will either die or suffer great damage. Summons are more resilient than humans so they'll be able to handle it more better but they'll still be hurt. It's a nice technique if you can coordinate the attacks together especially against summons.

(Katon: Zukokku) - Fire Release: Intelligent Hard Work

Now this one...so...Majestic. :pwease:

Upon observation, it seems that once the fire reaches it maximum range (or what the user dictates), it begins to swirl around in a large cloud of smoke. The force created by this explosion is enough to knock back several ninja even as big as choiji. Based on the chunks of flying rock, I assume that it ends in an explosion rather than just merely burning through the environment. That would explain how it expanded the way it did but when exactly it explodes and how is still a mystery to me. Nonetheless, like the description says, it is very difficult to avoid especially when combined with Wind Release: Pressure Damage. Hiding underground may not be an effective counter considering that the traveling fire will either superheat the ground or break through it. Using a summon could be a smart idea like how Sasuke did against Deidara. I wonder if using Rashomon would work in time to stop the attack. Not really sure how to counter such a technique since water and wind would just make things worse. Earth techniques would seem a good way to start?
