Well let's see sasuke was only created to give naruto something to deal with besides achieving his goal back in part one.didn't really have much importance outside of that.

Later he just lost his direction and became forced into conflict with Naruto because Kishi didn't know what else to do with him.

It's gotta be obito or Maddy. No other uchiha effects the plot as much as them. I'd say Maddy since he led obito to do what be did.

I believe that it is between Obito and Madara.

Why Obito ? Because without Obito.. Naruto would have had parents and never would have been motivated to become strong or create strong bonds and because Sasuke lost his as a reaction to the Konoha attempt with Kurama.

Why Madara ? Without Madara Obito would have been dead. Konoha would have never been formed and probably Minato would have never had the time to learn Shunshin.

It seems Kishi found replacements for Sasuke. Because without Obito and Madara, Sasuke would have never been in his current situation.

So, I guess replacements became more important than Sasuke.

Cool, yet he made in Shippuuden at least 3 arks without Sasuke having any relevance. Including Naruto defeating Pain and Jiraya searching for Pain and Naruto befriending Kurama. Lots of arks without Sasuke.

Each of those arcs featured Sasuke in them. Jiraiya searching for Pein segwayed into Sasuke vs Itachi. The Pain arc also had the Sasuke/Kirabi fight...

Yea, kinda true. Without Obito.. Madara would have kept sucking lifeforce from the Gedo until he would eventually die.

So, no Obito.. No future plot.

Sasuke is nothing more than a side character that was foil to naruto. He was an extra but minor conflict to keep the audience interested while naturo goes onto achieving his goal of being hokage. Wich was what naruto was about at the time. It's basically to extend the story but doesn't really contribute much to it.

He didn't start becoming important to the plot until part 2 and it was very minor importance at that.

The vast majority of part two is about the Hero's taking down akatsuki with sasuke making his minor appearances to pass him off as still relevant to the overall story and hype up a overall pointless final fight.
