Chapter XI: The True Nature of Greed
Ali pushed aside some soldiers and made his way to his own personal target.
Ali: Elias! I challenge you.
Elias: No thanks :/
Ali: ?
How dare you! YOU think you can do whatever you want, huh?
Elias: Someone needs to cool it?then again, that?s pretty ironic coming from me O_O
Ali gripped his sword tightly and ran toward Elias. He swung his sword and unleashed a large blast of fire which Elias swiped away to his right and dispersed with his left hand with a reeling motion. Elias took a deep breath and fire began to swirl around him. Then, he formed three handseals.
Elias: Fire Style?
Ali: HA!!
Elias?s techniques suddenly stopped forming. Ali smirked and shot a crescent wave of hell fire to Elias, but Elias ducked, spinning in a whirlwind on the ground with his feet out, and let loose a radial blast of dark fire to combat that wave of hell fire and trip Ali, knocking him on his face.
Elias: Hell Fire? What a cheap imitation of Dark Fire.
Ali: We?ll just see *gets up*
Goro: Tesenka no Mai! Hana!!
Goro?s hand became engulfed in a flower of bone which he used to charge through a group of Mist ninja, killing each one. Hiruzen threw several bombs down and in the midst of their explosion, he summoned his diamond drill and used to defeat several mist ninja of his own.
Ace: Nice one guys!
Ace punched and his arm expanded like rubber and hit a shinobi meters away from him. He then wrapped his hand around the ninja and suffocated him. Caliburn and Kaito stood, ready in their stances. They glared at each other, each viewing the death of their opponent. Kaito shifted his stance, and on that cue, Caliburn lunged forward with blinding speed, swiping his sword horizontally. Kaito reacted quickly and blocked the attack, parrying the slash and following through to stab Caliburn in the torso, but Caliburn flipped backward, kicking Kaito?s sword to the left as he did.
Kaito: You?re quite skilled.
Caliburn looked at his sleeve and noticed that part of it was cut.
Caliburn: You aren?t half bad yourself, Kaito of the Seven Swordsmen.
Kaito: Seems like I?ve got a pretty good reputation.
Caliburn: Among fellow swordsmen, you?re an idol?a legend. But to one like me, who has seen the beyond, it matters not what your skills are.
Kaito: And how do you figure that?
Caliburn: *looks up* When I was a boy, I had a vision that once I grew up, I would be the one to kill the greatest swordsman in the world. My destiny is here and now.
When Caliburn looked forward, Kaito was directly in front of him, preparing to strike. Caliburn put his hand out and shot of pulse of energy, knocking Kaito violently back.
Caliburn: You know, it?s very rude to attack someone while they are explaining something.
Kaito: You're a Kiyoshi, huh? *sigh* I couldn?t care less about your visions. Welcome to reality.
Kiwii attacked several ninja, swarming his bugs around them in small groups, but it was difficult for him to suck the chakra out of each shinobi. He formed some handseals.
Kiwii: Wind Release: Vacuum Great Sphere
Kiwii opened his mouth and shot forth a powerful sphere of wind that hurled toward the Mist shinobi and exploded in a violent wind blast to defeat them. Kiwii jumped up cheerfully, but behind him was a mist ninja prepared to kill him.
Mist Ninja: Silent Killing Technique
As Kiwii heard that, a great rush of lightning surged directly behind him, so close that Kiwii was almost caught in it. The ninja that had attempted to kill Kiwii had been severely electrocuted and all that remained was his charred body.
Madara: Hey, kid! Stay sharp! This battle?s not over yet.
Akira landed in the middle of a group of ninja and held both of his hands out.
Akira: Yin/Yang Art: Destructive Blast Beams! Yin!
From Akira?s right hand burst forth a powerful beam of white yin energy that completely destroyed the ninja to his right.
Akira: Yang!
From his left hand burst forth a powerful beam of black yang energy that completely desecrated the ninja to his left.
Izuna: Everyone is fighting their best. But you Sages are truly remarkable. My army seems completely outmatched, for the time being.
Roku: What do you mean by that? O_O
Izuna: You will see very soon. *forms handseals* Pure Water: Sword of Doom
A sword of pure water, without any particles in it at all, formed in Izuna?s hand and compressed. It had no hilt, for the blade itself surrounded Izuna?s hand. He appeared behind Roku with blinding speed and stabbed the music sage in the gut. Strangely enough, however, the strike phased right through Roku, and when I pulled the sword out, particles of light refilled the hole made in Roku.
Roku: Light Release: Light Man?
Izuna: That?s right?in essence you are the Sun Sage?and light is your nature.
Roku: Light Rider!
Roku vanished in an instant and just as quickly, Izuna was knocked to his feet and again, a cut appeared across his shoulder.
Izuna: You?re fast!
Izuna activated his sharingan, but Roku?s techniques was too fast for him to keep up, so he rose to his feet and formed one handseal.
Izuna: Water Transformation.
Just as Roku hit Izuna, Izuna transformed into water, taking absolutely no damage. Roku then reappeared, no longer in Light form. Izuna also reverted to normal form.
Roku: Nice defense, Izuna, but you aren?t the only one who can use water that effectively! *forms handseals* Water Style: Liquid Chains!
Chains of water streamed out from the water that remained on the ground and surrounded Roku before rushing at Izuna and grabbing his arms and legs and compressing, binding him.
Izuna: Not bad, but?
The liquid chains suddenly began to steam and evaporated. Izuna freed his hands and legs and clenched his fists.
Roku: You converted it to pure water and superheated the chains, huh?
Izuna: You?re going to have to do a lot better than that, Roku.
Roku: I suppose so, but if we went all out here, a lot of people would be caught in the dangerous battle, so for now, we?re both avoiding usage of our stronger techniques.
Izuna: You know, you always had a keen eye for seeing right through your opponents.
Roku: And you were always good at manipulating and emotionally compromising your opponents.
Izuna: Never could emotionally compromise you, though.
Roku: Perhaps. I never really could see through you either.
Izuna: *looks around* Looks like we?re losing, but you know, it?s funny how one-sided battles sometimes turn out.
Roku: Really? What makes you so sure?
Izuna: *smirks*
IN KUMOGAKURE
Kirabi looked out his window. It was cloudy, as usual. He smiled and looked at his watch. Then, he pressed a button and smirked.
Kirabi: It?s time. *forms one handseal* Shield of the Ancient Winds
BACK AT THE YASURAGI STRONGHOLD
There was a loud beeping sound suddenly, like a trigger had been set off. Izuna took out a device which was flashing red and then smashed it in his hands.
Izuna: Excellent. It?s about time we evened the odds. >=)
Everyone stopped in the midst of the massive fight and turned to face Izuna, who was suddenly rising up on a large platform of earth. He held both hands up and the roof collapsed, crushing several shinobi who couldn?t avoid the falling chunks of metal and rock. The rocks smashed dangerously onto the ground and created a lot of dust and rubble. Once it ended, the sky was visible. It was overcast and lightly raining. Izuna smirked and the few remaining soldiers of the Hidden Mist army all screamed confidently.
Bishamon: What?s going on? O_O
Izuna started chaining together handseals.
Hellsbadass: No way! o____o
Madara: What the hell is he?
Kaito: It?s over now *smirks*
Roku: That jutsu! O_O
Bishamon: Everyone, don?t let your guard down.
Izuna suddenly ended the seals with a loud CLAP!
Izuna: Kinjutsu!!!
Ragnaroc: Stop him!!! FIRE EVERYTHING YOU?VE GOT!!
Zanji launched a giant blast of ice but as it came close to Izuna, it suddenly disintegrated. Bishamon launched ten mud dragons at once, Akira released a blast of darkness, Roku and Elias spit giant fireballs of sun fire and dark fire respectively, and Madara and Grimmjow unleashed devastating lightning and water blasts in conjunction with one another, but each and every attack simply disintegrated before they could touch Izuna. It was as if an invisible shield was protecting him. After each attack failed, there was total silence. Izuna made a devilish grin that seemed to emphasize even greater silence than there already wave. He said softly?
Izuna: Edo Tensei (Impure World Resurrection)?
