How? She was portrayed as weak in part 2. Below her younger sister. She is also a Chunin as an adult.A little over half.
Kiba - Not so much.
Lee - Definitely.
Sai - Barely.
Hinata - Definitely.
Ino - No so much.
Shino - Definitely.
Shikamaru - Definitely.
Choji - Barely.
TenTen - Not so much.
Sakura - Not so much, Only in medical Nin, but that's it. Forgetting to breathe is not a jounin style either and is pretty much outright pathetic..
At the end of the day, ranks don't determine your power and are pretty much irrelevant.![]()
How is Hinata closer to being a Jonin than Ino, Shino, and Kiba?Sakura: She punched a god in the face. plus byakugou, easily jounin.
Lee: Yes, one of the only people to fight madara, 6th gate, etc.
Tenten: has the sage tools, was able to defeat Kakuzu with minimal effort.
Neji: already was Jounin.
Ino: Nope.
Shikamaru: Definitely smart enough, but far too lazy to try
Chouji: Yes, butterfly mode.
Shino: Nope
Hinata: Nope, but close.
Kiba: Nope.
Naruto became a Kage. The thing with Jonin ranks in the Leaf village are wonky. There are rules but it's almost subjective.
For instance:
Kakashi made Jonin at 12 because he created Chidori. Naruto created Futon Rasenshuriken and perfected it with sage mode, but he didn't get promoted.
Asuma tells Shikamaru that a person can be promoted to Jonin if they master 2 chakra natures. Shikamaru and Sakura have no elemental jutsus in their arsenals, but they still made Jonin after the war.
Shizune was promoted to Jonin (presumably by Tsunade), but Kabuto who worked for Danzo and by all rights is superior to Shizune in every way when it comes to medical nin, espionage and assassinations (pre-sage mode and pre-joining Orochimaru) and yet Kabuto never progressed past Genin.
Kurenai was 27 when she made Jonin, at the start of Naruto Part 1. Kakashi said she was recently appointed during the Chunin Exams arc. And yet Konohamaru made Jonin at a younger age than his aunt did, and Konohamaru is a bumbling boob of a shinobi as an adult.
I'd honestly like to know what criteria it takes to make Jonin, because given the list of characters who made it, and who didn't, it seems like a f*cked up system.
Yeah, like 8-10 years after the war. It was a given that Naruto would become Hokage after he defeated Pein, but ninjas like Lee, Kiba, Tenten, Ino, Choji, Sai, and Hinata were left to twist in the wind until Gaiden before we learned their ranks. Most of which haven't progressed since they were 15 years old.Naruto became a Kage.

Well actually, Naruto made the jump from Genin to Hokage, without climbing the ladder. According to Kishi. Kage is a rank that can be bestowed by either a previous Kage, Damiyo or a vote of the council of Jonins of the village. And that means before becoming a Kage Naruto became a Chunin and Jonin at some point.
Only Hinata's rank was revealed.
