how about you site some sources before calling me retarded.

Low-income minorities are often hardest hit by the unemployment that follows in the wake of minimum-wage laws. The last year when the black unemployment rate was lower than the white unemployment rate was 1930, the last year before there was a federal minimum-wage law. The following year, the Davis-Bacon Act of 1931 was passed, requiring minimum wages in the construction industry. This was in response to complaints that construction companies with non-union black construction workers were able to underbid construction companies with unionized white workers (whose unions would not admit blacks). Looking back over my own life, I realize now how lucky I was when I left home in 1948, at the age of 17, to become self-supporting. The unemployment rate for 16- and 17-year-old blacks at that time was under 10 percent. Inflation had made the minimum-wage law, passed ten years earlier, irrelevant. But it was only a matter of time before liberal compassion led to repeated increases in the minimum wage, to keep up with inflation. The annual unemployment rate for black teenagers has never been less than 20 percent in the past 50 years and has ranged as high as over 50 percent. You can check these numbers in a table of official government statistics on page 42 of Professor Walter Williams’s book Race and Economics. Incidentally, the black-white gap in unemployment rates for 16- and 17-year-olds was virtually nonexistent back in 1948. But the black teenage unemployment rate has been more than double that for white teenagers for every year since 1971.
the bold is for pumpkin
You want a source? Well let me give you two about that dumb comment you made against raising the minimum wage.

Over 200 of the top U.S. economists signed a document endorsing Bernie Sanders in raising the minimum wage to $15

Before Bernie Sanders started his campaign, over 600 of the top U.S. economists signed a letter telling the President to raise the minimum wage to at least $10.10 by 2016.

Also here is a technical appendix for the argument for $15 minimum wage.

How many people signed documents suggesting the world was flat? Just because a bunch of dumb-asses agree to be wrong doesn't magically make them correct.

tell me.

if these evil corporations are using a low minimum wage to exploit workers and make greater profits... why are only 4 % of American workers making minimum wage? all you are doing by raising minimum wage is pricing young un-skilled workers out of jobs and doing away with certain jobs all together.

I guess it's just a coincidence that black people haven't had a lower un-employment than whites in america since the invention of minimum wage yet the did have the year before.

BUT yo don't just take my word for it

I'm sorry, did you not see that the source was on an official government site? What do you not understand about "top" U.S. economists.

Are you saying you are in a position to pick and choose who the best economists are?

If all jobs paid minimum wage then there would be a schism in the U.S. People wouldn't have the incentive to work certain jobs. College would essentially be pointless. There's a reason why pay is different between jobs.

You clearly haven't thought your argument through.

So because the government supports getting more tax money they must be correct?

the reason businesses don't pay minimum wage to most of their employees is because they're afraid that the worker's skills will be lured away with higher wages. So to the same effect if there was no minimum wage people wouldn't necessarily make less. they would actually make more because they're negotiating options aren't as limited.

Notice there isn't a minimum wage in the nordic countries you tout so highly

These are socialist countries, not capitalist, and they have union agreements on deciding wages.

Your arguments either make no sense or they're completely biased. You are fishing for whatever sources align with your opinions. That doesn't make them credible.

I'm not gonna continue arguing with someone who is simply racist and yes you are; I've seen your comments over the years and it's pretty evident that you are.

FYI it's called Scandinavian countries, not Nordic and some of them do. Also these are socialist countries, not capitalist, and they have union agreements on deciding wages.

so all the economists who signed the document I sourced aren't real economists because they don't agree with you?

and your arguments aren't biased? you're a high level hypocrite.

so now it's because im racist that you won't argue with me although the definition of racism is believing that the different races aren't equal. FInd me any representation of equality on this earth. You can't... so by definition you're either racist or willfully moronic

That's exactly the type of comment someone who is racist would make in order to justify his superiority. Didn't Jesus teach humility?

Even if not all races are equal, they are still human and it's up to the strong to use their strength in helping others and not looking down at them and mocking them for what no single individual is able to control.

I'll just end this by saying that if there is a God, I hope he judges you the way you judge others.

luckily I don't believe in said god so **** it.

it's funny that the biggest charitable outpouring the world has ever seen happened in the 1800's in the U.S. Industrial revolution where there were no safety nets yet people helped. Forcing charity isn't the answer

Off-topic but let me just add this. Racism is mainly for people who have no qualities themselves and need to bring up their skin color in order to find pride. The difference between races is negligible in terms of intelligence, given the exact same upbringing. Plus, nobody deserves to be treated or looked at poorly simply because of their skin color.

Also, I don't know why people think there can only be one race with power and that they're supposed to compete. Power doesn't need to be distributed by people who simply have the same skin color as you. We live in a globalized world.

there can only be one anything with power. If two people share it then by definition it isn't power

even if you don't like liberals don't buy into the conservative political machine. they aren't your friends either.
both democrats and republicans are on the left.

Democrats are socialists leaning toward communism

Republicans are for a strong central government leaning toward fascism.

Both fascism and communism are products of the left. Tree conservatives are supporters of small central government

idk how true that is but if you mean they are two sides of the same coin, then yes, you are correct
most politicians are self serving not serving their voters

It's okay to have opinions about the economy and the political system, but you are simply wrong here. There is absolutely nothing in the mainline Democratic Party that ties them to either socialism or communism. Even a guy like Bernie Sanders, when he talks about being a democratic socialist, is talking about being a social democrat like many of the governing parties in Europe describe themselves as. Similarly the Republicans are not fascists and I would argue that if you asked most Republicans they would identify themselves as being for a minimalistic government.

Just because it is not libertarianism or anarcho-capitalism does not make it "pro-big government."

^^^(for pumpkin) you said you didn't know why there can only be one race with power.
In the real world races exist. please find me one example of two races living together and one not being dominant over the other

where do democrats want to spend my money? On social welfare policies IE they lean towards socialism

where do most republicans want to spend my money? On bolstering the military. Ie they lean towards fascism.

Modern republicans say they want a limited central government but then they pull a Bush and expand it's power

Humans are actually not biologically different enough to constitute different races. What you're talking about is just skin color, but I'll bite. There are sizeable Middle-Eastern populations in countries like Germany, France, UK and Sweden. I don't believe there's a 'dominant' race in those places. Walloons and Flemish people have lived together in Belgium for hundreds of year. There's a sizeable Jewish minority in parts of the US. Similarly you have a large Asian minority in Canada.
Like, what are you talking about?

Social welfare is not equal to socialism. Bismarck did social welfare.

Bolstering the military is not equal to fascism. Fascist countries often have large and well-funded armies, but that does not make it a trait unique to fascism. Democratic nations have armies and armies need funding.
