I really need to read the MS version as the translation seems to be quite off again. Freed's barrier negated the anti-magic particles, but I don't really get what Laxus was saying about someone healing and did he now use blood lightning or something?

Great to see some images of Yuri though.

I think he used a barrier, so that his opponent could negate the barrier magic around him. Because Laxus took in the barrier particals that were killing him, he opponent negated those particles in his body also and so stopped the damage to his body.

From there, i think he used a new element like Blood lightning or something? Or could it come down to the magic that Yuri used when he turned into a dragon back before FT was made properly?

Either way, great chapter once again xd

I don't say it that often about fairy tail chapters, but this was a very good fight. Showed some good willpower, but it wasn't the willpower or nakama crap that won Laxus the fight. He prepared and trapped the enemy. Seemed a bit like Shikamaru would do.

The blood lightning thing then again came out of nowhere, but I guess if all the other dragon slayers get multiple elements Laxus can't stay behind.

You're right, Freed taught Laxus how to make a barrier that the enemy was able to disspell before. And the particles that were inside Laxus' body were made out of the same material. So by undoing the barrier with Laxus right next to it. He also got rid of the barrier particles in his body. He was tricked.

Hiro better explain wtf that blood lightning thing is next chapter, because Laxus never even met his grandfather or had any knowledge of him or his powers, so to just bust out some move that is suggested to do with his gramps is just straight up bs.

Other than that - I enjoyed the chapter, great tactics to remove the magic barrier particles!

Makes more sense. I didn't realize the magic barrier particles inside Laxus were of the same material and I read it like that Freed's barrier was cancelling those particles as long as Laxus was inside the barrier, but that didn't explain why he was talking to Whal like he was the one who saved him.

Yeah it didn't come off as very clear within the chapter, maybe a bad translation. I figured that when Whal was explaining how barriers wouldn't work from how the thunder god tribe were beat, laxus too advantage of that. He used the barrier freed taught him to trick Whal into using his magic to negate the barrier magic around him. So with laxus lying on the edge of the barrier, the magic barrier particles in his body were negated by Whal at the same time, which is what Laxus was planning all along. And so he treats Whal as his saviour as he would have surely died otherwise.

I guess he had to set up the technique/Barrier, much like how Jellal set up the Amaterasu formation when fighting Laxus in the first part, so that's why it took so long. Now through detemination he's unlocked a new power in his bloodline passed down from Yuri. Much like how Dragon slayers unlock stuff like dragon force for their respective dragons.

Nicely done, Laxus, red lightning seems more like infusing his lightning with blood than being a technique handed down from Yuri; we'll hopefully get an explanation next week.

Well the chapter was good.The fight was nice and Laxus using head is better than nakama power.Also is it me or Laxus's face is awkwardly drawn?
As for wahl ,well he was impressive to me.His attacks were impressive and etehrion canon is what makes him really strong imo.

Solid. Some people say asspull? Nah this was actually well thought out. He played his enemy knowing very well he had the power to dispell barriers.
