Naa, that's not a reason to not-buy a game. Instant Awakening was OP, especially Naruto, Nagato and Tobi.
A legit reason is the fact that almost 3/4 of the story mode is slideshow-copy&paste from ugly anime scenes and the fact that a lot of characters didn't get any update, such as Jugo.

Now this would be a sound reason not to buy it. I haven't bought it yet but I've been seeing terrible reviews about story mode and such. I'm still going to get it out of completion. I have the other 3 and would like to complete my set. Besides the terrible story mode reviews I still enjoy the online aspect...unless they butchered that too...please tell me they didn't mess up the online play.

That's a shame. Instant awakenings weren't even a "problem" in Rev. It was a nice tool to cancle your moves, mix shit up and to combo more. Some of the giant awakenings were the problems.

Frankly, with the Linked system and the Change Leader system, this is no longer needed. As you can easily extend the combo and cancel with any character now. Along with using multiple awakenings at once. The biggest change is that this new system requires you to actually use your head a bit more.
