[Discussion] Why is the "D" family so important?

So many bad guys and good guys see the D family a powerful family but idk why the only powerful ones are Law and Luffy.

So can someone please explain it to me. ​

You'd fear a "D" too if ya knew what they were capable of.

Haven't ya noticed wherever there's a "D", pain follows shortly after.

It's almost as if the "D" is a penetrating force.

True. Just didn't feel up for typing his out lol, but guess it is necessary. The man was Rogers rival. Again, the only strong ones are Law and Luffy? Lol. Pirate King, legendary VA and rival of pirate King, most wanted man in the world, fastest rising yonko we know of, and youngest commander of the then strongest man in the world.

So I'm guessing you forgot about Dragon, Teach, Roger, and Garp?

Luffy's papi and Grandpapi would still spank luffy and Law in an actual fight.
The strongest ones are the ones of the older generation, especially Gol's generation.

I wasn't sure about Roger and I didn't know garp was a D.

There is not much on Luffy's dad tho but from what I seen in the manga is Garp and Luffy and Law and Roger but I didn't know Roger was a D.

Naw I been watching OP for awhile now but never really pay attention to some things cause I mainly care about the battles so idk much about actual stories.

Well, basically the Ds are troublesome people (for either good or bad) usually going against the allowed flow of things, then there's something called the will of D which is still a mystery and the fact that the Ds may be connected to the void century which is another mystery.
Summarily, we like many characters in the OPV know close to nothing about the Ds other than the fact that every single one of them shown has kinda raised a storm

Not necessarily, we assume Roger was the strongest during his Era but that's it, Kaido is the current strongest and afawk isn't a D, Akainu (the fleet admiral) also isn't a D, so being a D does not translate to strength.
Jaguar D Saul (Robin's saviour) was a D, but he was pretty just an average vice admiral.

As to your second point, technically the Revs are being led by a D

This is weird, even though the "D." is made famous by Roger, and so on. And most people think of Roger when thinking of the "D."

BUT.. for me, its automatically Garp/Luffy/Dragon. Soldier/Pirate/Poltics. Order/Freedom/Justice

To me shanks seems the strongests of them all but I'm probably wrong.

I just think the Ds are one of strongests pirates cause other pirates and navies act when they hear a pirate with the name D in it.

I feel by the time the story will focus on Shanks he'll be the second strongest (after Teach) meaning, Kaido would be out of the picture by then. Shanks' record does not speak well on his behalf; he (when he had both hands) got a scar from pre-df Teach and he claimed he wasn't playing around, so imo he's below 2 DF Teach, and Teach has the hype of "what'll happen when a D goes wrong" so he's stronger than Shanks in my books

Maybe so but shanks is Allot stronger now even if shanks is the 2nd strongest that is pretty good in my book.
