It's first stage, known as the 1 tomoe Sharingan, grants the holder the basic abilities of the Sharingan; the ability to see chakra and differentiate between different chakra from different people as well as see an opponent's chakra flow. They are gifted with a great clarity of perception, which allows them to the look through some Genjutsu and see the different forms of chakra, This stage of the Sharingan also allows the user the small ability of tracking motions moving slightly faster, up to 1.5 times his own speed actually. This coupled with the abilityto see through low rank genjutsu ( D rank visual illusions ) is what makes the 1 Tomoe Sharingan useful in it's own right. The wielder of the Sharingan, through continued use and training, changes its form further, which involves the eye maturing fully until it has three tomoe. As the Sharingan develops, the user gains heightened abilities through the heightened ocular sense. This first shows with the Two Tomoe Sharingan.
Upon development, the Sharingan develops a second tomoe in it, allowing the user greater prowess with it. The users of it show the ability to now anticipate and analyze faster movement, as well as mimic minor movements made by an opponent. The user can now track higher speeds and enemies that are moving at higher speeds ( twice as fast ) and,by reading the handseals, can predict to some extent the use of Ninjutsu techniques (but will always obey and abide by the time frame rule as he can never start performing a counter/move before the opponent has started his, meaning that there will always be a logical sequence of moves that will obey the time frame). The user is now able to pierce through visual C rank genjutsu and below .
