The fact that Gildarts survived, despite losing a leg, an arm and a few organs, is already enough to state that Serena can survive it. On top of that Serena hasn't used yet four of his lachrima, which could contain an ability to save him. Also August is with him, a guy who knows countless of spells. Lastly, as said before, Serena would have absolutely provided nothing at all to the story if he kicks the bucket already, then Hiro could have scratched all that stuff about being the strongest wizard of Ishgar etc.
There are reasons to believe that he's dead. A part of his body is ripped off on panel by the man who stands above anyone else "as of now at least" in this manga. You don't need any reason other than that to believe that he's dead for good. Acnologia one shotting one of S12 isn't even that quixotic to believe. Not even the mightiest of the Dragons found any hope in challenging Acnologia head on to a battle even 400 years ago. They've decided to do whatever they did in canon for the whole purpose of taking him down. So it isn't really impossible to believe that someone of his caliber is capable of one shotting characters like Serena. Acnologia conformed that he's dead with his statement at the end of the character. The reactions of fellow spriggan 12 ,who witnessed whole thing conforms it even more to boot. They were terrified because one of their companions was effortlessly one shotted by Acnologia.
Ramal is hyped to be just as great as Serena and look at him now. He's out of the game without accomplishing anything so far. He's taken out by people who're more or less fodders to him.Compared to that Sarena is much better if you ask me. Even other wizard saints received nearly as much hype but look at how easily they were beaten by Serena. If them getting defeated quite easily despite them fighting him at the same time is believable then I don't see why it'd be different with Serena getting killed by Acnologia. Blue Note and Members of Avatar are all prime examples of people who were owned quite easily despite getting hyped to be decently strong.
Serena and Igneel are different , I know that but what's important here is the fact that he's far stronger than Serena. He was beaten in one go by a similar move. Even half dead Igneel should be overwhelmingly stronger than Serena. Hell he might as well be stronger than even Zeref himself. Therefore, if someone like him couldn't survive a similar attack then I don't see how Serena would unless of course he has some kind of ability to regenerate which has yet to be hinted by any authentic source.Even if he's alive for some unknown reason, Him not using all of his abilities by no means can be treated as a reason to believe that he could be alive. It's totally a ground less speculation.
And I don't think Serena holds grudge towards Acnologia, his reason for wanting to kill Acnologia for all we know could be that he wanted to prove himself to be the best by defeating Acnologia. He even claimed himself to be grater than any Dragon. So he likely joined hands with Alvarez Empire for the sole purpose of getting closer to Acnologia. Hybrid Theory may not be new to us but Serena took it to next level by wielding 8 different D.Lacrima. So you could say that he's used to introduce something new regarding hybrid theory while also being a hype tool to hype Acnologia. If anything, it's the other way around. We don't have any valid reason to believe that he's alive other than the fact that it'd be a bad part on writers behalf to kill off such an overly hyped character as quickly. I've already mentioned this in my previous post. Other than this which isn't really a valid reason to make conclusions ,there is no reason to believe it. The reason you have to believe that he's alive get out weighted by the reasons which support the contrary. That said, Serena's death isn't as improbably as you're making it out to be.
I agree that it might be possible. I won't rule that out. In fact I am also a believer of this Serena might be able to survive theory but him being dead sounds more believable than him being alive at this point. I rest my case with this one and won't be planning on continuing it any further as this is a highly subjective matter of opinion that can not be proved with anything definitive at this point. I know where this would lead. :yeah: We've already done something similar with Natsu is END theory,Lmao.:hmm: So I don't want us waste anymore of our time to post walls of texts over something as trivial as this. So lets wait for another week to know which of us is wrong.
Nothing of this all is subjective. These are mere facts.
1) A previous character survived while sustaining similar injuries
2) We know Serena has the powers of at least 4 more dragons and some dragons can have healing powers.
3) We know August has mastered countless of spells, which can easily include healing spells.
4) Serena's supposed death does not in the least conform with the character profile Hiro has been building up for him.
So there are strong, objective reasons as to how Serena could survive and also why he should survive. Serena is very different from Avatar, who were never hyped, appeared out of the blue and only served the purpose of showing how strong Erza, Natsu and the others had become. Serena is also different from the other Wizard Saints because they never received much attention. Hiro however found it necessary to make Serena change sides, to have him clearly some kind of interest in Acnologia, to have him be a dragon slayer, but then kills him off without doing anything? If that's all he wanted from Serena, all the stuff about betrayal was unnecessary. The fact that we can't know for sure what Serena's intentions were for Acnologica, is on itself a reason to assume he survived. Otherwise Hiro could have made him say something like "I've wanted to fight you for years now. Let's see who's the real king of dragons". And whether you have two or eight lachrima in you, makes really no difference anymore as the concept is the same. Especially not when the guy with he 8 lachrima dies instantly the moment it's revealed.
Him surviving isn't as improbable as you make it out to be.
Also Azir was taken out by several characters who collaborated with each other. Azir had a big mouth, but the pecking order between all the Spriggans is severely unclear, so it's really hard to say how strong Azir was. It remains a fact though that August already found it necessary to block Laxus' attack on Azir implying it might have been lethal. So Azir wasn't nearly as hyped as Serena, Azir was never given much depth either. He was a war-mongering arrogant fighter that received his hype from being a Spriggan. That was it. Serena and Azir are two very different characters. If Serena would have been like Azir, yes then I would easily assume he died, but he isn't. So inadvertently you admitted that it wouldn't make sense for Serena to die already.
